We were seated immediately and find the restaurant to be clean. We got menus and drinks right away and found our server and runners were very nice and attentive. They have a nice menu with all the mexican favorites. I ordered the Enchiladas Dinner, one cheese and one seafood with my wife ordering The Chimichanga. We were given chips n salsa while we waited and good thing because we waited almost 45 minutes for our meals but to give credit, they were busy. The dinner plate presentation was very appealing (pictured). My seafood enchilada was very, very good as it had whole large shrimp and scallops not pieces like some places give you and it was topped with a very flavorful cream sauce. The cheese enchiladas was equally good as it was stuffed full of cheese and topped with an excellent green chilli sauce. The red beans that come with were great as well the yellow rice but I found them to be stingy with the pico, guacamole and sour cream. I didnt get to taste my wifes Chimichanga as she devoured it but she said it was great but could have been a little crisper on the outside. Bottom line, yeh, it's a new favorite for us. read more

Happy Cinco De Mayo! I'm glad I decided to get food for dinner here today. There was a Dj and endless drink specials. I haven't seen so many ppl here in so many years. The hostesses at front were awesome! They handled droves of people coming in, very frequently. I think it helped that the lot was totally full because it attracted ppl that much more. I ordered food for myself and others while enjoying one of their handcrafted frozen drinks...DELISH! You must try the chicken chimichanga! The chicken is so tender it melts in your mouth. There was no space to check my bag in the foyer because customers were piling in for the festivities. I wish I did check it because they left out the empanadas I ordered, and I was charged. We had a meeting in laurel and a couple of ladies in my group kept bragging about this restaurant so we all decided to check it out. It was about 1pm on a Saturday and the weather was bad but the place still packed. Despite this we were seated right away which was great because we had 6 in our party. The wait staff was very attentive. We didn't have to wait to long to have our orders taken, for our food, to have refills, or have our empty plates taken away. Just FYI they automatically added gratuity to our individual checks I guess because of our party size. The place's decor has a true Tex mex feel with fresh tomatoes, avocados and other traditional Mexican ingredients displayed in bowls, and yellow and orange hues through out. I'm so glad to have this spot in the neighborhood and am wishing them the best luck on their expansion. I don't typically go for the food, but the wings, salmon tacos, and ceviche are good. The calamari frito is bland and the salsa is pretty watery. However, the drinks are so good! My go-tos are the margarita, coconut mojito, and sangria. They never disappoint. Also, it's a vibe! This was our first visit, which occurred for lunch on Friday, 1/17/20. The restaurant is large and spacious. It was not crowded. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, except we had a hard time getting our check. Complimentary chips and salsa are served upon seating. We tried the grilled salmon taco salad for $12.95 and combination platter of 3 items for $12.95. They were both large and tasty that we couldn't finish them and took them home. To end my self-care date I came to Chido's for dinner. I had the New York Steak with fried Yuca, rice and beans, and a salad. The steak was ok (my taste buds feels like the cook thinks the garlic sauce is the only seasoning needed for that steak). The salad was decent (loved the avocado and onion combo). Pretty steady crowd on a Monday night. I was in the area meeting a friend, had the taste for Margarita and fajitas, so I ran to Yelp. I'm glad I stopped in and plan to do so again if I'm in the area. I started with a 12oz Mango Frozen Margarita. First sip I was I would have went for the 24oz but .. it was only Monday. Free chips and salsa were given to me at the same time my drink arrived. The chips were stale, and the salsa was watery with very little flavor. No worries though ... it's free! For my entree I went with the steak fajitas. As it turns out, Mondays are fajitas night. Buy one get one 50% off. I was alone so I didn't take part. The steak fajitas came out quickly and smelling delicious. And they were! The beans were awesome, the rice I didn't care for but again, no worries. Before closing out I ordered a 12oz House Margarita on the rocks. It was awesome! I don't think I would have been able to handle a third and drive back to Baltimore. Overall, 4 stars instead of 5 because it was LOUD in that place. The music is entirely too loud. It was more like a Saturday night kind of vibe. Way too much for a Monday night dinner. I sat in the bar area because I was dining alone. I gotta give credit where it's due and Chido's deserves more credit than I've ever given them. They have some preeetttttyyy solid Tex- Mex eats and treats, Yelp loveys, and their happy hour is not to be missed. Service from the bartenders there has always been attentive, super friendly, and pretty speedy, in my experience. They make great and reasonably priced cocktails and shots with consistent drink specials worth my returning for. There's a sampler platter that I think comes with 3 or 4 items from their appetizer selections and it's such a great value at approximately $10.00 cost. I love the wings, quesadillas, and chicken nachos from the platter and get it all the time with the yummy $6.00 Vegas Bomb shots. While I haven't tried their dinner entrees or desserts, I haven't had a drink, bar bites item, or service experience from Chidos that I haven't liked, so I'm keeping them in my happy hour rotation and if you haven't added them to yours, you should probably grab your friends or your boo and head over to their patio for some Cadillac margaritas. Last night I dined at Chido's by accident. It was 1 of the best change of plans that happened. I have been to Chido's about two times when they 1st opened but have not been since 2017. It's 1 of the few places in this area that offer authentic Mexican food, good vibes and are open late. I initially was just going to order a shrimp quesadilla b/c my previous plans included seafood. You know how it is when you get the taste for something and it doesn't go away so you find something similar to satisfy that craving. Well the complete opposite happened.. as I explore the menu further while sitting in the bar area, the Saturday manager, Mario G., was behind the bar and gave me his recommendation on the tacos I was now contemplating instead of the quesadilla. He explained that in the Tacos de Piñita, the chicken was marinated for hours so it's more flavorful then the others and I could order it without pineapple. Then he also explained their sangria is fresh and not boxed. He sold me on both and I was in heaven (or just really hungry lol). My friend I dined with took my initial craving and ordered just a chicken quesadilla then later regretted it after seeing my order lol. Everything came out fresh and hot! My tacos were filled with chicken, grilled onions and green peppers, all marinated to perfection as Mario stated and topped with fresh avocado & cilantro. It also came with yellow rice & black beans on the side. My sangria was like adult grape juice, very good! The ambiance of Chido's is lively in the bar area and I later saw a modern-day jukebox AKA Touch Tunes. The actual restaurant is huge and can serve many, then they have a private dining area, as well as an outside area illuminated with festive lights. They use to allow cigar smoking on the outside patio when they 1st opened but as the restaurant grew to be more family-oriented, they stopped that immediately. There is ample parking and a view of the lake for the patrons who eat outside. I'll definitely be back a little more often now that I rediscovered what I've been missing at Chido's! read more

Pros: serving size are big and the margaritas delicious and strong. Social distancing is enforced and it makes the visit enjoyable since it's a big place. I was a little disappointed because it wasn't very flavorful and the texture of the enchilada was a bit too soft. My friends enjoyed their food (they got the seafood enchilada and poached eggs). Overall, the service could have been better too. The waiter was very nice but he didn't come to our table frequently and we had to ask him to refill our waters multiple times since it was so hot where we were sitting outside. First time here and this spot has potential. Some things to consider when visiting, it's not a place for good music or meaningful conversation. Let me explain the music is extremely loud by the bar and patio inside the actual restaurant it's hardly any music heard. However the restaurant is so enormous its accoutics are horrible!! Didn't take away from the customer service, drinks or food. Is it the best meh but I'd definitely partake again. Seafood Enchiladas have actual seafood (shrimp and scallops), hubbycakes had combination fajitas (steak, chicken and shrimp), babygirl had Tacos de leguna which she didn't like as much. We were shopping in the area and wanted Mexican and we saw Chido's, we normally frequent the one in Owings Mills, so we were happy to see one on this side of town. They were fairly busy, we were immediately greeted, they are practicing Covid-19 guidelines. They took our temperature, our name and Phone numbers before they seated us. Because if they have a outbreak on that day they can notify us. Our Waiter Anthony came over and took our drink and Appetizer orders.
