Tofu bowl with fried egg and dumplings

Always great for lunch! Love the tofu bowl, perfectly marinated tofu and consistent quality

Very nutritious and unique. Felt like Korean chipotle. Loved the concept, but food was lacking in taste. I felt as if it was a bit dry and the noodles were not seasoned. Staff and ambiance was perfect. Would definitely try once!

It's definitely fusion.. Don't come here expecting Korean / Asian food. While some of the flavors taste vaguely familiar (japchae noodles, pickled vegetables), you're best off adjusting your expectations and just appreciating it for what it is, not what you want it to be. The kimchi was limp and lacked the complex flavor it's supposed to have. They did not have sesame oil or green onion, which I feel like is mandatory in any ode to Korean cuisine?? Especially if you have Ssam on the menu... I left feeling very confused and conflicted. People who don't really know Korean food would find this enjoyable, and I'm happy for them. It's just not for me.

Went here for a business lunch after the Apple Store employee recommended it. I love Korean food but did not know what to expect. A man who I assume was the manager or owner came out to greet us and help us pick our meals. Everything was amazing. I got the bibimbap bowl and my colleague made his own. We both loved it! I also tried the glass noodles and loved those. They even had kombucha. The Restaurant was very clean and bright, it was a perfect spot for us. If I am ever in Austin again I will definitely be back!

I was at food truck around 10:20am, and had to wait till 10:30am. Didn't know they were switching from their breakfast menu to their lunch menu. I ordered the rice bowl with spicy pork and added a fried egg. The food was great. Generous portion size. The lady seemed a little impatient with me when I was ordering though. Anyway, it was a short walk from the Texas State Capitol building, so it worked out well as a pit stop for me.

During SXSW, I grabbed a bit to eat in between sessions at the Chi'lantro food truck that set up shop in front of the Austin Convention Center (by the Trinity and 4th entrance). It was popular with a bunch of people queued up to order, but the line moved quickly. I grabbed two orders for me and the hubby - Original Kimchi Fries with Tofu (for him) and Ribeye Beef Rice Bowl (for me). The food was delicious - pricy, but delicious. Original Kimchi Fries has caramelized kimchi, cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, onions, cilantro, sesame seeds, sriracha, and their "magic sauce". You have an option to add tofu, spicy chicken, soy-glazed chicken, spicy pork or ribeye beef (beef is a $1 extra). Rice bowls have rice, black beans, grilled corn, garden veggies, kimchi, fried egg, salsa, and a choice of protein (ones noted before). You have a choice of either white or brown rice. If you see the Chi'lantro truck in Austin, I recommend running over there and placing an order. Another cool thing about Chi'lantro is that it uses biodegradable paper containers and utensils. Eco-conscious and delicious, Chi'lantro is awesome!

Love this food truck! Super fresh and flavorful food. Hubby and I shared a rice bowl with beef ribeye and 2 corn tacos with spicy pork. The veggies were so refreshing and the meats were perfectly seasoned. Decent prices. Portions are actually more filling than they seem.

So good! Everything tasted amazing. I loved the variety and the Korean take on chipotle. Kimchi tries are a much!

Kimchi Fries - - oh so good!

For me the Salisbury steak was the best I've ever had. I'm from the Midwest and that was a staple but when I got to Cali it was rare to find. Fun fact we own a family restaurant since 1983 and that was on the menu but people really didn't order it like that so we discontinued it. Maybe if it tasted like yalls it would've worked. Anyway whenever we are in Austin again we are coming straight there. I love the popcorn snack before the meal as well and that could've been my dinner by itself. The absolute star of the show was the Street Corn Queso. Our waiter, Chris, recommended adding brisket to it, and that completely changed the game! The sweet, creamy queso paired perfectly with the tender brisket and their house-seasoned tortilla chips. Pro tip: it's not officially on the menu, but definitely ask your waiter to add the brisket--you won't regret it (huge thanks to Chris!). As for the main course, the classic cheeseburger was humongous and super juicy, served alongside fries that were delightfully airy and crispy. While the bun was a bit underwhelming, it was still a very satisfying burger overall. Portion sizes here are huge across the board, so definitely come with a big appetite or plan on taking home leftovers! Highly recommended.

Austin Restaurant Week takes place from August 28th through September 13th. First stop...Rollin Smoke BBQ, located in the Chalmers building, which filled with a crowd of people. I ordered a pull pork sandwich, mac-n-cheese and banana pudding. The pulled pork sandwich was huge, which I shared with the hubs. Quite honestly, I was full after eating 1/4 of the sandwich, which had cabbage, pickles and of course the pork (not the typical stringy pork but chunks of pork bursting with smokey flavor). The mac-n-cheese was substantial with cheese filled shell pasta with a hint of a smokey flavor. So yummy...Well, I might have eaten "all" the banana pudding. This was not your typical banana pudding (dense and flavorful). I certainly understand why they run out of this dessert. Service was superb! Great dining experience...

I thoroughly enjoyed the Boozy Brussel Sprouts which were smoked and flashed fried, a balsamic glaze with whiskey soaked raisins and parmesan. I am definitely returning to check out the Half Chicken Plate with 2 small sides that I eyeballed.

We started with the fried green tomatoes. They didn't quite beat the unforgettable ones from The Front Porch Cafe at Dollywood, but they were still tasty and we happily finished them. I ordered the 2-piece dark meat while my cousin got the 2-piece white meat, both with baked beans, slaw, and white bread. The baked beans and slaw were both satisfyingly delicious. When my plate arrived with a thigh and two legs, I thought I had ordered wrong! Our wonderful server, Kamber, explained that the legs were especially small that day, so they have to serve two instead. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and delicious, and I loved learning they use peanut oil. The fresh, natural quality definitely came through. And placing the white bread underneath the chicken? Brilliant--it soaks up the extra oil! Service was fast, friendly, and efficient even though it was a busy Friday lunch hour. Amber was great about answering our questions and regularly checked up on us. She even introduced us to their homemade Chess pie--a classic rich southern custard dessert pie--which we were too full to try this time, next time for sure. We'll be back, especially since there's another location in San Antonio. Next visit, I'm coming hungry for the fried okra, mac & cheese, and seasoned fries! Just wish they also have corn on the cob and corn bread as other sides options. Southern fried chicken craving: officially satisfied.

For fifteen people, the total cost was $425.69. This included delivery costs and taxes, but no tip. It consisted of three meats, two sides, and a dessert along with pickles, onions, bread, and BBQ sauce. There was also a set of utensils delivered, but plates were forgotten, but not a big deal. Brisket - This was definitely the best item eaten of the day. It was tender and juicy while adding the BBQ sauce giving that extra bite. The BBQ sauce was great regardless, a little bit of sweet and smoky flavor going on. Pulled Pork - This was another solid meat choice. I did not think it was as tender as the brisket, but it was still enjoyable especially with that BBQ sauce, which was key throughout the meal. Sausage - This was not bad. The snap on this threw me off a little, but it was not too bad. They were large links and had plenty of flavor. Gouda Mac & Cheese with Smoked Bacon - This was actually penne pasta with little pieces of the bacon. I actually preferred this pasta choice here. It really soaked up the cheese sauce. The sauce was not too over powerful and was just right. Beans with Smoked Bacon - These were not too bad. I thought they were a little liquidity, but the added bacon pieces definitely helped. Banana Pudding - This came in individual cups, which was nice. The pudding was thick with a little meringue or whipped cream present and a few wafer cookies on top. It was a satisfying ending to a very good meal. Will I go back? Yes.
