Had a great lunch at CM Smokehouse a food truck located at Bouldin Acres. I was there for a networking event to play pickleball and was hungry for lunch. Was able to place the order on the app and select the table location for food delivery. The food was brought right to the table when ready. I ordered the CM Caesar Salad with kale, slaw mix, pickled onions, croutons, beef tallow Caesar dressing & option of protein. I chose the BBQ chicken which was very tender and grilled to perfection. The salad was fresh, crisp, and generously portioned, with just the right balance of creamy dressing and smoky flavor that sets it apart from a standard Caesar. It had such great texture with the crispness of the kale. My friend ordered the Fried Mozzarella Sticks with 5 Jumbo mozzarella sticks & served with a side of house ranch. These sticks of cheese were huge! We were able to enjoy eating our meal at the picnic table outdoors. I would definitely come back to try more food options from CM Smokehouse. read more

Came to try the Crunchwrap but accidentally ordered the quesadilla instead. Not disappointed since it tasted really good. I also got the patty melt with blue cheese. Greasy and cheesy in the best way. The food truck is located near the bar and you have to order at a table using the QR codes. Great place to chill and play pickleball while enjoying delicious food. CM Smokehouse was located at Bouldin Acres providing a food option for those hangin out in the sports bar or outside. It was my first time here to experience both places at once, but right now talk about CM Smokehouse. It was little warm outside so decided to sit in the bar. To order anything like food and drinks you need to scan a code on the table to open the Union website or app if installed. It's a cashless environment here, so all your items are placed in a cloud tab and use a credit card or Apple Pay for holding. Once you are ready to leave Bouldin Acres you close the tab, select tip, and then submit payment. I ordered the Smoked Chicken Wings (naked- no sauce) and side of ranch dressing. The bartenders were cool and made us feel very welcomed. The place had some fun activities to enjoy and lots of TVs showing sports channels. I noticed a few order directly from the bartender so that option still open. 6 wings were placed in front of me where they looked and smelled really good. They were cooked over firewood and could tell. The seasonings was killer including the last of the chicken. I place these wings in the upper echelon along two others in Austin who also has the same tremendous bbq flavor. Vegetarian options are scant and vegan even fewer, but they do offer cauliflower wings tossed with buffalo, BBQ, sweet chili sriracha, or lemon pepper. For plant-based people, avoid the white BBQ and all dipping sauces, and you should be golden. These are unique from other cauliflower options in that they're fried naked, sans batter or breading, and fried heavily. Genuinely blackened, without any trappings of blackening seasonings, it's a dish best enjoyed slightly tipsy. There's a subtly acrid burnt flavor that goes along with the technique which may be off-putting to some. read more

They take what makes the Taco Bell crunchwrap great and pushes the boundary even further to bring you this beautiful creation: chopped brisket, monterey jack cheese, corn tostada, lettuce, pico, pickled onions, crema, salsa verde on a 6" corn tortilla & wrapped in a 12" flour tortilla. Absolutely no complaints at all. The price is just a little on the higher end ($17), but they're using good quality brisket and this thing is phenomenal, so it's honestly not a bad price at all! I read about this in TX Monthly and had to check it out. Really good non-traditional BBQ place inside Bouldin Acres. https://www.texasmonthly.com/restaurant/cm-smokehouse/ They don't have a BBQ plate on the menu and that's the point...try something different! I went with the off the menu Crunchwrap referenced in the TM article and it was delicious. Basically another form of a quesadilla, but with brisket and beef fat tortillas from Flores (look those up separately!), and green sauce on the side for dipping. They had a few takes on wings - chicken, ribs and ...cauliflower? I went with the Rib wings. The baby back rib "wings" are smoked then flash fried, covered in cheese and served with a side of sauce. I went with the White BBQ, just because it was different. The flash fry dries them out a bit compared to regular ribs, but remember - these are rib 'wings'. and they were tasty! The whole Bouldin Creek area has a cool vibe and looks like it would be a fun place to hang in the evening. Get there early and try the BBQ. read more

CM smokehouse is tucked into Bouldin Acres. The food was tasty, but the mandatory 20% "gratuity" on a food truck is obnoxious. I won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend for that reason. I hope this is reconsidered. Just change your price to 20% to match reality. Cheers. read more

Been here 3 times now. 2 for takeout. One for dine in. In my opinion, some of the best, non-traditional bbq you can get. I have almost everything g on the menu from tacos, to their crunch wrap and even their sandwiches. All very delicious. Their Crunchwrap was surprising. The spice was pleasant and flavors were spot on. The pulled pork sandwich was also moist and wonderful. If you want a lovely snack and something not too filling, grab their tacos. Very good. Overall their timing is not very long. Their pricing is about what you'd expect for a bbq joint that also was non-traditional. Considering this is a cool place to come and hang out with people, grab cool food and drinks, I highly recommend. read more

Let's be honest, there is more than one place to get good BBQ in Austin...so wasn't expecting too much. My first meal here I ordered the off-menu Crunchwrap Supreme with brisket and WOAH. Brisket is delicious, nice smoke and peppery. Extremely unique and spoke to my love of BBQ and Taco Bell. Next time we ordered the fried elotes and they were delicious, cut in a way that was easy to eat. Also ordered the burger and honestly, I think it made it into my top 10 favorite Austin burgers. HIDDEN GEM* for sure!!! Traveling from CA, we heard about this stop on the Kill Tony Podcast, so the bf and I had to try it out. It's located behind the building so don't get confused, you're in the right place! We got the brisket patty melt. The BRISKET itself was so good and better than some we had earlier from cooper's. Bread was nicely toasted and the side of waffle fries were seasoned well not too salty and pretty crispy which I prefer for fries. Overall, great spot to hang around with the family and get a bite. Our group ordered a bunch of stuff to try and we loved it all. Started with the BBQ frito pie and it was so good. The brisket philly is perfection. Smoky brisket with a little bit of spice from the peppers, sweetness from the onions and a ton of melted cheese. The surprising favorite of the night was the smoked cauliflower wings. This place is differ in the sense of how it's set up. You walk in to a building to go outside and back in to the bar. That was fine with us but the food was NOT what I expected for BBQ.
