    Soondubu Jijae and Jajang Myun
    Nicole M.

On this particular day- I've watched one too many Instagram Reels (because I deleted TikTok and now I just get the TikTok videos on Instagram... 2-3 days later... anyway...) of Korean Food! I was really craving a warm bowl of Soondubu Jijae - which I got! The price point is really incredible, especially with the incredible range of delicious Korean food! I even saw they had lunch specials as well. I also appreciate how this is practically on UT's campus - seems pretty accessible and nothing like having warm, homey food :) I definitely had quite a bit of a sodium overload considering the dishes I got, (I shared the Jajang Myun), even with the rice. I devoured it all pretty fast- I was hungry and it tasted great! I loved the service too, the older man and woman are very cute and sweet. Definitely get some yummy, cozy food here :) super affordable and delish! Cravings = satisfied

delicious korean food near campus. i especially love the pork bulgogi. it has the perfect taste and flavor with a good level of spice. small things to eat on the side like pumpkin and tofu. i wished they put more things on the side but overall very yummy meal. price is reasonable as well, definitely on the cheaper side. friendly and fast service. lots of seating as it's located in a food court.

Great food. come here all the time. The old man who works at the front is very nice though he doesn't speak English too well. His wife works in the back and is super cool. I always get the chicken and some spicy sauce. Can't believe they give this much food for 12$ Would recommend to anyone looking for something higher quality and tastier than anywhere else around west campus.

Beef Soon Du Boo and Jap Chae. Generous portions!

For what it is, it is bomb fast casual Korean food! The service and the food was amazing. I got the Soon Du Boo with Beef and the Japchae. You cannot go wrong with any of those dishes. They give you plenty of rice. It was perfect Korean comfort food. The price point was really good. When I stay in ATX again, I will eat here again!

This place is a little tricky to find - it's located on the second floor inside a food court a block away from the edge of UT Austin. We tried the pork, chicken and beef bulgogi. All were good, but I liked the pork one the best. Note that it's spicy. On Feb 27th, 2022, the price for the pork and chicken bulgogi are $9.99. The beef bulgogi is $12.99. Portions are quite decent. As such, prices are quite decent given today's inflated prices.

I love Oma's. The food isn't anything out of this world, but the old man who runs the place is just so sweet and precious. I usually get beef soondubu, which actually comes with quite a lot of beef and tofu. Obviously, it would be better in a hot stone bowl, but since Oma's is in a food court, I'm not that picky. The side dishes are pretty good. You can also get free miso soup if you order a qualifying menu item!

This is probably the most authentic korean comfort food you can find on campus. This is also my favorite korean place within walking distance on UT campus. I think Oma's does a phenomenal job with price, service, and quality of the food. At peak finals week, I would come here very week and at one point every day to get some nice home cooked-vibe meal. My go to order is always their Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Noodle Soup) and their Pork Bulgolgi. The Spicy Beef Noodle soup is a great option if you want something relatively light, it comes with bean sprouts, beef, glass noodles, and veggies along with a side of rice and side dishes. It always leaves me feeling super satisfied and full, this soup is a bit more on the oil/grease side but you will not be disappointed. Their Pork Bulgolgi is probably one of the most popular options among UT students here. It is basically side dishes with picked veggies, marinated pork, and rice. It's a super simple meal that is really well balanced. In terms of other menu items, I've heard and given mixed reviews about them. I experimented a bit with the menu and through my trial and error, I would say the two I stuck with are the stand outs in the menu for me. The portion size and the price point here is really great especially for students and it provides a nice escape from all the processed foods on campus. If you ask nicely, the grandpa & grandma serving food may give you extra kimchi or miso soup on the side!

I feel like I always have a craving for Korean food even if I just ate it, but this place always is my Korean fix. I got the spicy rice cake (tkeokbokki). It was such a large portion size, it lasted me three meals! The rice cake was really good, just the right texture and chewiness. The flavor was spicy but it wasn't really comparable to other tkeokbokki that I've had. The side of rice and vegetables and egg omelette was a nice surprise. The rice was a nice pairing to the spicy sauce and the potatoes were really good, wish there were more! Overall, a decent Korean fix in the UT Austin area.

Nice place for high quality but low cost food! The portions on the meals here are HUGE. Guaranteed to make you full. Price is very reasonable, usually $7.99 to about $10 for the whole meal. If you want to save on drinks, they even give you a cup so you can get free tea or water at the tea station. The food has good ingredients. I ordered the seafood soup, and I can see it actually had quite a bit of seafood in it, with a large shrimp, some pieces of squid, and mussels as well. The amount of seafood is actually more than what I usually see at up-scale korean restaurants, which usually charges $13 to $15 for the same thing. This place, Oma's, only charges $7.99. What a deal! The staff is ok. The man behind the counter, he doesn't like to talk much, and prefer hand gestures :) Not the most friendly. But I can see he is not rude, just tired, maybe from working all day. The food court is actually pretty clean. Mostly the crowd is students from the university. The chairs and tables are clean, everyone cleans up after themselves. The food comes out reasonably quick. There is a short wait, since you can tell they actually cook it in the back. But wait is not long at all. Overall, great place for decent korean food! I came here twice. Will come back again!

Kind of on the expensive side (even then it is like around the price for an average lunch around here) but definitely worth a shot if you're into Korean food. Authentic Korean food served by an elderly Korean couple. Would definitely recommend the Yukgaejang (spicy beef stew).

Stopped here for a quick lunch on my break, had a great experience with service and food alike. It's ran by an older couple who are very kind. The kimchi fried rice I ordered came out pretty quick and it was piping hot and fresh. Highly recommend checking them out if you're here and want a healthy bite. Very reasonable on the prices too, by the way the pickled veggies and sprouts that come on the side were amazingly delicious

Oma's kitchen is a staple at dobie mall! Very nice variety of authentic korean food with side dishes at a great price! **they don't validate parking though**

For meats we tried a solid mix including finger steak, beef tongue, pork belly (both regular and thin), and even beef intestine. We also went through all the banchan, and my parents ordered the veggie pancake and spicy tofu soup. Overall everything was really good. We didn't get a single bad cut and everything was flavorful and cooked well. What really made this place stand out though was the service. MJ took care of us and was incredible from start to finish. Since it was our first time, she walked us through the menu and even helped cook the meats so we could actually relax and enjoy our time together. She stayed on top of the grill, swapping it out right when needed, and was always checking in to see if we needed anything or wanted more banchan. What stood out the most was how thoughtful she was with my parents. She made sure they had food on their plates without overdoing it, which was such a small detail but meant a lot. The food was great, but MJ really made the experience. Definitely coming back.
