We hired The Peached Tortilla to cater our wedding (3/27/2021), and would do it again in a heartbeat! When we originally booked with them (pre-pandemic) we expressed that we would have about 100 guests. When our final numbers came back at under 40, we were prepared to battle. Fortunately, we didn't have to. Lora Null (our catering lead) worked with us to adjust our food minimum and helped us choose a bar package that suited our needs! Regarding the food itself, superb! Both foodies and non-foodies alike complemented us on our food choices! I am still dreaming about the stuffed avocado and mac and cheese! We even got some of our locals hooked on the food that they are going to try it themselves! Truly, amazing food! We had a variety of dietary needs within our group (vegetarian, latex, nut allergies, citrus allergies) and Lora and her team worked to ensure they knew who had what allergy- and ensured the safety of our guests. Directly after our ceremony, Lora ensured that my husband and I had whatever drink we wanted, even if it was just water. The staff at The Peached Tortilla were amazing regarding service. We had food stations, but the servers ensured that my husband and I were served first, and didn't have to get into line. They asked us if we wanted any seconds, and continuously checked on our well-being food wise. It was truly a magical day, and the food truly surpassed even my expectations, and I knew it would be good. Would give them 10 stars if I could! Photos by: Two Pair Photography

    * * * * *UPDATE* * * * * After posting my Yelp review, I immediately received a kind message from the Owner of The Peached Tortilla. He apologized for the wait because they had zero control over the equipment. They also had volunteers which were given to them that day so there wasn't much time to train them. This totally explains why there was a wait for the tacos especially when there was such a high demand. It's very rarely that I get a message from Owners apologizing, so for this I greatly appreciate and must award them with the extra star I had previously deducted for the disorganization that was actually not their fault. SO 5 STARS FOR THE PEACHED TORTILLA!!! Why, oh why MUST you guys be SO far! *sigh* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~* ~ ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ ~ * * ~ * ~* ~ ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~* ~ ~ * ~ * ~ Asian Fusion Tacos from a Texas Food Truck? Ehh, it can't be good right? WRONG!!! As a perpetual food truck chaser, I'm always on a lookout for new food trucks so I was excited when I found out there would be a line-up of out-of-city and out-of-state food trucks at the 3rd Annual San Francisco Street Food Festival this past Saturday, 8.20.11. Several days prior to the festival, I did my due diligence of Yelping all of the visiting food trucks since my tummy could not fit food from 60+ vendors (I would have attempted to but didn't want to spend my Saturday night in the ER). We have a lot of Asian Fusion Food Trucks in SF, most of which totally miss the mark with in terms of having bold, authentic Asian flavors. And being from Texas and not being Asian owned (CORRECTION: The owner is Hapa), I had my suspicions about The Peached Tortilla. Nonetheless, I wanted to try it they were making a special appearance in SF. At the SF Street Food Festival, The Peached Tortilla had two offerings: *THE BAHN MI TACO: Braised Pork Belly, Pickled Daikon & Carrots, Sriracha Mayo & Cilantro ($3) *THE PAD THAI TACO: Chicken or Tofu in Pad Thai Sauce, Bean Sprouts, Peanuts, and Lime ($3) When we placed our order at 11:45 AM, they ran out of Bahn Mi Tacos so we paid and waited for a new batch to come out which took about 7 minutes. It was very confusing because there were two windows for ordering (no separate pick-up window), they never took down our name and we were never given a receipt or number. There was a small crowd of people also waiting for the Bahn Mi Tacos; all not knowing who was first in line to get the next batch. For a street food festival that spread across 7 streets and was packed with several thousands of people, this was very disorganized on the truck's part which is why I had to knock down 1 Star. BANH MI TACO - THE BEST ASIAN FUSION TACO I'VE HAD! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/SIIzjxEP8-SMxVQPp8qPBQ?select=wKjW0TCTRKem3mOk-wSwgA Atop a flour tortilla (allows the flavors to shine through more than a corn tortilla) were tender, melt-in-your mouth chunks of pork belly, crisp daikon and carrots, a creamy sriracha mayo and fresh sprigs of cilantro. Each bite was filled with a savory richness from the pork belly which was balanced by the acidic veggies with a nice kick from the aioli. The taco was savory, sweet, sour and spicy nirvana and encompassed all the authentic flavors of a bahn mi! SUCCESS! Coming from an Asian household where my mom can't even properly cook the most basic Chinese dish without burning it, overcooking it or it tasting like it came from a steam tray at a 1 Star Chinese Buffet Restaurant (Sorry, Ma), I have mad respect when a Hapa can nail down the authentic flavors of Asian cuisine. The Peached Tortilla has done this, so much so that it TRUMPS SF's Kung Fu Tacos, Hapa SF, Senor Sisig, IZ IT in terms of bold Asian flavors and quality ingredients. Looks like we need to take a lesson from the Texans...

Pad Thai bowl with extra fried egg (thanks to yelp coupon) and spaghetti squash taco.
    Rebecca Y.

As a vegetarian, I thought Peached Tortilla could easily accomodate me, but the only vegetarian items they have are Tofu Pad Thai in the form of a bowl, burrito or taco, and the Pulled Squash taco. They offer several daily specials, but never any vegetarian specials. The Pad Thai with fried egg on top is a nice addition (and you can get an extra egg with yelp check-in), but the egg and lime juice are the only things that save the Pad Thai. Without it, the dish is dry and flavorless, with too many peanuts. Rice always seems a bit undercooked. I didn't like the pulled squash taco. The pulled squash was bland and mushy and just not pleasant. Cake pops were really good, though. Of the three times I've been, I got short changed once, and the other two times the cashiers had trouble making the correct change. It's just unprofessional. I was so excited about The Peached Tortilla, but to me, it's just hype.

Belgian Fries and (left to right) the Chinese BBQ with Pork Belly, Banh Mi, and BBQ Brisket tacos
    Henry L.

The Short: Pricey, but one of the best tacos I've ever had! Gotta get any taco with pork belly! In a taco-crazed city, raves about a taco food truck is a big deal, and I had to try it. I ordered the BBQ Brisket Taco, the Chinese BBQ Taco with Pork Belly, and the Belgian fries. I'll start with this: their pork belly and brisket are amazing! The pork belly had a high fat:meat ratio, so flavors were strong and they were delicious. I've had pork belly plenty of times in my life, but these are on a whole new level. Each bite was explosive in taste and paired well with the Asian slaw, Chinese BBQ sauce, and the cilantro. It tasted like the Chinese BBQ sauce had a component of Hoisin sauce, and its sweetness was perfect for the pork belly. Meaty, sweet, and fresh ingredients all wrapped within a lovely flour tortilla; I could eat these all day! The brisket was moist and seasoned very well. I nearly took off points for the lack of fattiness, but then I realized that a lot of it just fell out of the taco as I was eating it! The BBQ was slightly heavy for my taste (I usually don't eat meat with sauce), but like the Chinese BBQ Taco, the savory brisket complements well with the fresh slaw and the sweet BBQ sauce. The Belgian fries to me weren't all that special. However, they were very very crispy and not too salty at all. The Parmesan cheese topping was a good extra layer or flavor as well. I could easily rank these fries in my top 5. The only reason why I'm struggling to give Peached Tortilla 5 stars is cause of the price. It's almost unfair because given the price, while the quantity is lacking, the quality of the tacos is definitely worth it. I would've loved to have at least twice as much fries after paying $3.50 for them. You know what? Pork belly is mad difficult to make and Peach Tortilla killed it! Have your 5 stars!

A roppongi dog with a fried egg. Both delicious and beautiful.
    Colin D.

The Peached Tortilla is one of the best food trucks/trailers in Austin. The Roppongi Dog is beyond amazing. It's an asian-style hot dog with pork belly stuffed in the middle of the hot dog and a fried egg on top. I just wish that they served it more often. I think it's my favorite food truck dish--full stop. The other things here are also great. The Bahn Mi Sliders stand out as does the Japajam Burger. The variety makes this one of the few places where even the most conventional of my coworkers can eat happily alongside those of us who want something new, different, fusion, and dare-I-say even hipster. I've had a bit less luck with the brisket from here, but that's only because brisket at other places in Austin is so damn good. In general, the best stuff on the menu is what makes use of their sauces which are exceptional. Their bacon jam, their peach sauce, and their sriracha mayo are all stunning. The only drawback of this place is that they don't serve the Roppongi dog more often.

OJ with a splash of champagne

Been to Peached Tortilla many times for dinner, so delicious! First time for brunch this past weekend. Started out with the normal go-to; the Brussels with bacon jam. YUM. Make sure you add the sauces. Then the breakfast drinks came and things got weird. I ordered a mimosa, and it was suspiciously opaque upon arrival. As any frequent bruncher knows - a mimosa should be mostly champagne with some OJ mixed in. I took a sip, and sure enough it tasted like... orange juice. Photo for reference. I politely pointed this out to the server, who took my glass and said she'd see what she could do, maybe they could top it off with some champagne for me. When she came back... she had the same glass with her, and said "The bar says the ratio is 2/3 champagne with 1/3 orange juice. If you wanted us to top you off we'd have to charge you for it." And then she walked off. I was honestly pretty stunned by this response. My friends were as well and thought I had been reasonable. I worked in restaurants for many years and never would have said something like this to a customer. Even if the bar disagreed... it literally would've been no skin off their back to top off the drink. Instead, the result was a very uncomfortable interaction between the server and our entire table, that left a bad taste in all of our mouths. Not to mention paying $7 for a glass of orange juice. She came back after that and asked if "everything tasted alright" and I almost asked... "would it matter if it didn't?!" Overall I do actually like this restaurant very much and will go back. But I'll be ordering a beer. Lol

chicken satay taco and banh mi slider
    Tee D.

We stopped by last night to grab a quick bite before heading to a show. I love the concept, and the menu had a few interesting options (pork belly sliders/tacos, crunchy catfish tacos, Belgian fries). The execution, however, was lacking. I ordered the Banh Mi (pork belly) slider and the chicken satay taco. The boy ordered the crunch catfish taco and the brisket taco and a side of fries. All our food - with the exception of the fries - was cold or lukewarm. My chicken satay taco had chunks of chicken that were slightly warm and chunks that were cold. My pork belly slider was actually cold. Have you ever eaten cold pork belly? It's not awesome. The boy's food did not fare any better. His brisket and fish tacos were lukewarm, and he wasn't crazy about the coleslaw they use in their tacos. Even though our tacos and sliders were really disappointing, the fries were pretty tasty. I liked that they had several types of unique dipping sauces that came with the fries, but the boy did not like that they didn't have just simple ketchup. I will say that the portions are teeny tiny for the price. I'd guess that you'd probably have to eat at least 4-5 sliders to be satiated. The guy running the trailer was friendly and nice, so it saddens me to write a not so glowing review. I'm also hoping that maybe it was an off night for them, but with all the food options in downtown now, I doubt I will give them a second chance.

Good golly miss molly! This trailer has some jaw-dropping, delectable morsels to be had. And I am so glad I finally found these guys close by in their daily lunch and dinner travels of Austin. For my first visit, I had to try a highly rated BBQ brisket taco. Oh the cole slaw and the brisket - together with the sauce made such a unique and delectable taste combination. Throwing caution in the wind, I went with the new menu selections - crab cake sliders and fried wantons. What are in these wanton, you may ask -banana nutella mix topped with a cajeta cream sauce. Drooling yet? I was. Next time I am ordering two of these babies. One order was not enough to satisfy my undying flame of love that consumed me after that last bite was gone. The crab cake slider was also delicious in its own right - very crispy with just the perfect amount of slaw. On a side note, the owner was very friendly and personable. Could this experience be any greater? I'm not waiting for this trailer to come by work or home anymore. I will now go out and seek them anywhere in town when the desire strikes. I feel a food crush in the making.

3.5 stars I ordered the Banh Mi slider and Fish Taco w/ fries + spicy mayo. I was extremely hungry and thought this wasn't going to fill me up but it did! The wait was a tad long but there were a lot of people there. I went when they posted up by Star Bar and it was around 8-9 PM? There's no place to really put down your food and eat but there were some people sitting inside the patio area of Star Bar I think. This place didn't wow me but I think it was enjoyable. I would recommend going for first timers of food truck experience!

Umm Peached Tortilla is so good I need to update my review AGAIN ;] My bf got his usual... 2 catfish tacos, 1 banh mi slider, and 1 BBQ brisket slider. He usually hates it when I drag him downtown to get food (esp on a Friday night) but he will do it without complaints for Peached Tortilla. I got the one thing I've been wanting to try for weeks.. The crab cake slider. OH HOLY GEEZ. It is BOMB-DIGGITY good. So much flavor inside these buttery buns. Whoever hasn't had it yet, DEFINITELY needs to try it! ALSO, try the chicken satay taco. The peanut sauce inside is DYNAMITE. And to the haters, just keep on hatin'. It just fuels the fire. The delicious peached fire. YUM! P.S. Eric is the nicest guy. I always get good food and good conversation whenever I come to Peached =)

I got the falafel wrap from Judy's Mediterranean. The price point was pretty good but the wrap was only ok. It may have been because I didn't eat it right away, I waited about 40 minutes after getting my food, but it was soggy and lackluster in flavor. Overall, I would rate the whole food truck area 4/5 and Judy's 3/5.

Case in point: Jewboy Burgers, The Grip, The Big Kahuna, and T-Loc's! I'll definitely be coming back to sate my food truck needs, as this is part of what makes Austin AWESOME. I'm giving this spot only four out of five stars for now for the following reasons: 1) I've only tried the offerings at one truck so far; among other things i need to see if the Big Kahuna is as good here as at other parks. 2) Seating seems a bit limited; on average I only saw 2-3 tables per truck, with 5-6 by Jewboy's. 3) Parking! I'm pretty sure I counted only a half-dozen spots. I'm worried that parking on the street would also be tough, have to see how it is on a weekday. But don't let my quibbles dissuade you from coming - this park has some awesome names, and my stomach is calling me back...

Overall it was pretty delicious and authentic! Also, huge portions of food! Ordering it to go was a good choice because we took the leftovers home. The lady that runs the truck is super friendly and engaging with her customers! I'd definitely recommend this food truck for a nice Thai fried dishes that are full of flavor and have generous portions.

They said it would be about 20 minutes for food since they were slammed, but I appreciate knowing it was made to order, so no problems there. Tried the Kaeng Panaeng and it was good overall. Huge portion size but wasn't quite what I was expecting. Salad was pretty standard but I'm glad they kept it separate so it wouldn't wilt from the heat. As for the chicken, I was hoping by itself it would be more thai inspired/marinated/seasoned but it's effectively just chopped up chicken tenders to be dunked in the curry. The curry is flavorful, albeit a bit watery, which I wish was reduced a bit. But if curry is not your thing, my friend's Kai Zabb was very good: tangy, sweet and heat all at once, so good to really switch up bites. And while I wasn't expecting sticky rice, I can't help but say it's the first time I've had thai fried chicken without it. All in all, I think its a great new place to try out, but if you've had thai fried chicken before, just temper your expectations.

Such a cool area to eat! It was much cooler under this covered area (which is also under some tree coverage).

Nothing else really comes close. The chicken is excellent, but the fries deserve a special mention, they're perfectly crispy and coated in a cheesy, spiced seasoning that's completely unique and insanely good. I've never had fries like these before. There's plenty of parking, and the area is usually quiet unless the nearby brewery has live music. The owners seem nice as well. Seating isn't great, so I usually end up eating in my car, but it's absolutely worth it. HIGHLY recommend if you're a fried chicken fan.

Most of the flavor is on the outside though and because the chicken is so juicy and big the crust falls off. The chicken sand which is HUGE. There is so much meat and the ratio seems really off. The bread gets really soggy fast but the coleslaw and pickles are a nice addition. The flavors are really solid. The medium is the perfect spice for me. The tenders are okay, since I got mild it wasn't really flavorful and the dang sauce isn't very flavorful either. Food was made to order because it was HOT. The brewery area is very cute and fun but the parking situation is not great.
