Under new management! New manager new menu. The restaurant dining room and bar have also received a new look and feel. The dining area is very comfortable and relaxing. During one of our ceviche lunch breaks, we learned about their new menu and hours. Yes, They are now open for breakfast. This is our favorite spot for mariscos and now for breakfast! Yes they have a fantastic breakfast check out the pictures. Once I noticed Birria options for breakfast I was eager to try. It was delicious and didn't disappoint. Let me add that the staff is top notch. Very friendly and attentive. It's was also nice to meet the new manager and hear about his impressive resume and goals for the restaurant. When we first entered the door, there was a line. The place looks clean sharp. Love the atmosphere. I thought for sure my husband and I would have to wait 30 minutes to be seated. The place was pretty full. To my surprise the hostess said "give me just a minute", she stepped away for like 10 seconds to look around for a table returned and sat us down immediately. We sat down and were looking at the menus for about a couple of minutes when our waitress took our drink order. When she returned with our coffees she took our order. To our amazement our order was brought to us in like 10 minutes! WOW. My order was tostadas de chicharrón and my husband ordered the trio enchiladas. My order was a little on the salty side but not too bad. My side of sourcream made it more pleasant. I tasted my husband's order and it was delicious! Next time I'll have that instead. I also ordered a pink sweet bread "Conchita". It was soft and very good, it hit the spot. Our waitress did check on us twice and brought us coffee but we had to have someone call her for us because she didn't come back to check on us when I wanted to order my sweet bread. Ambiance- Great feel & design Service- slow, under staffed, and he seemed to lose track of when to bring out drinks & Food. Management is lazy- Saw 2 ladies who were checking their phones while tables had dirty plates and drinks were sitting at the bar. A good Manager knows how to support the staff & ease the stress of what is going on in the restaurant! One of the ladies was a hostess but she still could have made better use of her time. The other Lady was for sure a manager because when we expressed our concerns about our food and drinks, she gave our server to 10% discount cards to hand us. That was another sign of bad management and leadership! If you want to keep customers coming back for a 2nd opportunity. As Management you should have taken off a meal or 2 drinks. Food- ordered Asada Chilaquiles- food was slightly cold. Turn up your heat lamps or have a food runner. You should not wait for your servers to go get the food or drinks as they are occupied with other tables. A food runner is designated strictly for this huge responsibility. Drinks- sat at the bar for 8-12 mins before our server brought them to us. Cadillac Margarita- tasted like lime soda water and very little alcohol definitely no Grand Marnier. Spicy jalapeño Margarita- very little alcohol & again watered down because it sat for so long to make it to our table. I would wait at least another 6-8 months before going back to see if they fix the major issues with staffing, temperature of food, drink quality & Management. Hope this helps! read more

Tried this place for dinner. The food was not hot, service was poor, and they got my order wrong. Couldn't get the searver's attention to let them know so just ate it. Let me start by saying service was fine, not hate to a waiters who served us, but the food was horrible. I am a professional cook and our experience almost made me walk out. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated which is perfectly fine but once we placed our order we waited for an hour for our food. Mind you all we ordered was chilaquiles with eggs and bacon and I ordered an aguachile. After a long wait, the food came out cold. Not even a little warm, absolutely cold. I personally ordered the aguachile verde and there was a mountain of cucumber hiding the 7 lil shrimp. I'm no fool but $21 is too much for 7 lil shrimp. Anyway we reluctantly finished our food and left. Poor waiters who have to deal with a lot of disappointed customers. 0/10 would not come again. Update: the aguachile gave me food poisoning. Don't believe the hype on social media. I've seen this place blowing up on social media so decided to try it. All social reviews rave over the food and drinks claiming its authenticity and great atmosphere, but my experience was underwhelming. I will start from the beginning with the parking. It is located in a small strip mall with very limited parking. If you're lucky enough to get parking up front near the entrance it's not so bad, but if you decide to go anytime after 10am on weekends, you'll end up parking somewhere behind the building in a dirt lot and hope to outrun the inconsiderate drivers trying to find parking also and beat others to the door. At first glance the establishment has bright and inviting decor with lots of greenery on the walls, mirrors and neon signs. It has split seating with one side having a bar and the other with booths, tables and a small patio seating area. After checking in with the host, there are a few benches to sit and wait, but it's somewhat small so of its crowded, you'll find yourself once again outside with the traffic coming in trying to find parking. We were seated in a half booth since we had our toddler and needed a highchair. Our server was good, it didnt take long for her to take our drink order and promptly return with them to then take our food order. The menu seemed to have a good selection of mexican breakfast items on one side of the menu, and seafood and other lunch and dinner items on the other side, of course, build your own chilaquiles served all day, being the highlight of the entire menu. The food was not bad but also not this amazing "can't miss" experience some have been claiming. The food was decent at best. We tried the chilaquiles trio, breakfast skillet, molletes, and cafe de olla. We started with the cafe de olla and molletes. The cafe de olla came topped with a fresh pan dulce, concha. I have to say that was actually my favorite thing about the entire experience. The cafe had a very smooth sweet cinnamon flavor and the concha was fluffy and airy as it should. If I ever go back, I'd probably only go for a cup of cafe de olla, but not sure the parking situation is even worth the trouble despite how good it is. The mollete was also good overall topped with some sort of sauce and pico. It was better than the actual entrees. The chilaquiles trio is a good option if you can't decide between red, green or tomatillo sauce. I liked that the chilaquiles were actually made with fried corn tortillas and not tortilla chips like many other places do to cut corners. The sauces are pretty mild so if you like spicy chilaquiles, this is definitely NOT the place for you or you'll have to add cholula which defeats the purpose of having chilaquiles. The sauces even though not spicy were still ok, but seemed somewhat bland, we ended up adding salt. The chilaquiles trio is topped with carne asada and 2 eggs any style and cheese. The supreme breakfast skillet came with a corn or flour tortilla option. We chose flour and were highly disappointed at the fact that for a place that claims to be authentic, served the same old plasticy, store bought, cheap flour tortillas I can get at Fry's or Safeway. I bet the corn tortilla would probably have been better. The supreme skillet comes with ham and sausage, bell peppers, onions and a few other ingredients. The disappointment in that dish came in that the sausage was a cut up sausage patty instead of real ground cooked breakfast sausage. Again, the food was ok at best, the service was good and the atmosphere was cool, but definitely not what social media is blowing it up to be. read more

This is going to be a mixed review. To start my visit, I was brought chips and salsa with a small cup of broth (picture attached) chips were great, salsa was great and spicy, BUT the broth was a seafood broth and I'm allergic to seafood. From a business standpoint, that is unacceptable. I'm sure it was an honest mistake but had I just tried it without asking, it could have been bad. Now, the waitress was very nice and attentive otherwise. M-S they have happy hour from 3-7. Limited options on food and drinks (mostly beer). However, the have a dollar margarita (Ladies only & picture attached). It's not posted anywhere so be sure to ask! It was a decent margarita at that. The food was pretty good. I ordered a carne asada and a chicken taco (picture attached). Full of meat. Decent taste but definitely add some salsa or ask for cheese. Taco was very plain and basic. Now for the look and feel of the restaurant, it gives off mom and pop Mexican restaurant that leveled up and is trying to become the next best happy hour spot. The place looks nice, clean, and maybe even new. It's seems authentic in a modern world trying to keep up with the pace. Overall, I will visit again and hopefully my experience is better, but I will be sure to mention the seafood allergy immediately. read more

The food was amazing! Everything was fresh and hot, and the taste was phenomenal. I love the fact that they have all different renditions of Chilaquiles. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Very cute interior and very very clean. The service was very good as well. It got slammed as it was on a Sunday and the after church crowd came in, but they did their best to keep up with everybody. Gave a 3 star because I had called days before to make a reservation for a party of 18 for my mom's birthday which is also on Cinco De Mayo. When we got there they did not have my reservation. There was only one waitress, and I feel horrible I forgot her name because she was hustling the whole time trying to get us seated. It seemed like the staff was not prepared for a busy day and did not have a consistent bartender. Food was good, and our drinks were made very good. We went for the first time on Mother's Day, and man, that was such a fail. The red flag should've been when they didn't open their doors at 8:00AM, as it says that's when open, instead, they opened late at 8:25, the staff was really disorganized, and looked already stressed as they were seating people. We sat down for 30 minutes, before we realized we were being ignored, so I got up and asked for a manager, SHOCKING, they didn't "have one". I went to sit back down, as I was told someone would come take my order immediately, and it took another 15 minutes before anyone could come. The only reason we didn't walk out, was because it was already 9AM! And we figured everything would already be packed since it's Mother's Day. We saw many other customers visibly upset about the service & wait times, I regret not walking out any sooner. We finally placed our order, it took ONE hour to get our food. In total, we wasted two hours at that joke of a restaurant, and for them to have the audacity to bring BURNT scrambled eggs!??! They had the cook coming out to deliver dishes, and what seemed like the bar tender also serving, which by the way, he was TERRIBLE, and we felt discriminated against by him. Visited 4/19/2018 This is a nice little Mexican Seafood Restaurant. Located in Mesa AZ it's a local favorite. Plenty of seating booths and tables. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The menu has a good selection of different seafood dishes. One of our party had the Steak Tacos day said they were wonderful. We all tried the Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Peppers. They were quite Amazing. I would have them again for sure. The Coconut dish was also a winner. And the Shrimp Alfredo seem to be pretty good also. All in all the food was pretty good except for the salsa which was very watery not much like a true salsa. I will try this place again the next time I'm in Mesa. read more

I came here for my 7 year anniversary, I had this on my list as a food reviewer for some time. Waitress gave so much attitude when I asked if I can still do happy hour sitting outside which she said yes. We tried ordering carne asada fries which they just advertised the same day and was told by the waitress they don't serve that at all. She never came back outside and we just left. Terrible service, do not trust what they advertise on Instagram, I was going to attempt to try again a different time (maybe came on a bad day) but after I made a comment about it on Instagram they used my comment to make another video saying it's only available during happy hour (which it was when I was there) on that same video another person had the exact same experience. Enough said, DO NOT waste your time coming here, plenty of better options with wonderful service elsewhere!! read more

Very unique and interesting food selections. The grill shrimp, is a must! Great chips and salsa. The atmosphere is intriguing, looks like a Oceanside seafood joint. The atmosphere is really nice. We were seated right away. There was 4 of us. I said one child so she gave us 3 menus and 3 utensils. There is a kids menu on the main menu. The service was slow. She didn't visit our table to refill drinks or ask how our food was. She was very nice when she came to the table. We had to flag her down due to the pancake on the kids meal was cold and could not be cut due to being very hard. The scrambled eggs are a strange texture but the bacon was perfect. I got chilaquiles and so did my husband. We got charge for 2 different meals when we paid. The menu gave a lot of options and I don't think the server knew the menu. They forgot the egg on my husbands. I asked for the creamy sauce she said we only have red or green but my husband got a creamy chipotle?? My daughter got the Birria ramen noodle breakfast plate. Sounded good but it was kinda watery breakfast. I really thought it was alot of food if the little things were better. The cost was $70 with no alcoholic drinks. Excellent food and attentive service. We sat on the patio and it was nice because it was in the morning. Even though we were the only ones outside, our waitress didn't forget about us. The avocado toast was served on two pieces of toast with two eggs. I'm used to getting just one piece of toast. The cevice had generous pieces of shrimp! It tasted so fresh and flavorful!
