Stopped here on our way to a basketball tourney. Our waitress (Aaleah) was fantastic! She was very attentive and had some great food suggestions. We ended up getting the biscuits and gravy and Belgian waffle (w/ Nutella). Would definitely come back if we are ever in the area again. read more

So the food was great. The service, not so much. My server did an excellent job, however, my company and I were rushed to eat and leave literally from the time our food was set on the table to the time we left the establishment by a man who I'm assuming was either a back server or a manager at the restaurant. He took a plate of mine that still had food on it that I was not done eating, tried to take my plate FULL of pancakes... it was a very uncomfortable experience to say the least. Granted, there were people waiting at the door to be seated, however, it's not professional to rush PAYING customers in the manner he did. There are ways to do things... He walked by our table countless times literally by the minute staring at our plates, not even waiting for the food to be off of them just waiting for us to not have our hands on them so he could grab the plates. My company had a plate full of food that she wanted to take with her... instead of asking her did she want a doggy bag, the man just grabbed her plate to trash.--she had to call after him to ask for her plate back and a doggy bag. My company had tea and as he was clearing her dishes (I still have a plate full of food that I'm eating) he clears the honey for my company's tea from the table. I wish I would have gotten the man's name and spoke to the manager when I was there around 9:30a.m. this morning. That man made the experience very uncomfortable. Again, my waitress was pleasant and the food was good and the serving size was massive. That back server or manager--whoever that man working this morning was ruined our dining out experience. read more

Go to Peoria quite often and I believe I have now found the best place for breakfast. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. Visited this place as a spur of the moment decision on a Saturday, early afternoon for the first time about two months ago and there was no wait the staff was very friendly and courteous, the setting was very nice -clean fresh flowers on the table, i was further impressed by the small slice of cucumber in the water also the fact that they serve fresh leaf tea in many different selections was very impressive as well. We ordered from the breakfast menu and the food was absolutely amazing!!! I had the eggs Benedict Diablo and my fiancé had the skillet meal we shared pancakes and I have to say hands-down they were the best in the area we just went back last weekend to take my son and my review still stands my son had the Horshoe burger and raspberry lemonade and both were very fresh and delicious I would recommend this place to anyone!!!! read more

Today our breakfast was a "miss". My daughters and I went to celebrate elder sisters birthday and we were all disappointed. Coffee was terrible and that is pretty important for a breakfast place, pancakes and French toast were dry. My caprese Benedict was good. What I especially did not like was at check out the tip percentages started at 18%...I think this is very presumptuous...our waitress did very little. I like Childers and since it is one of the few like it I hate to complain except I feel like the place is getting lazy...we will be trying Gebys on War Memorial next time. read more

A much better choice than Bob Evans or Le Peep. The food was hot and was ready fairly quickly. The coffee was fresh and hot (vital to a good breakfast). Service was pretty good, but it was a bit of a wait to get a table. read more

This place has a great breakfast, and lots of options. They use fresh everything, so the flavor really bursts. There are frequent specials that are different and off their normal menu. I have never had an "average" breakfast at Childers. On top of the wonderful food, the restaurant is clean and modern. If you are eating breakfast in Peoria, this is the place to go! read more

Childer's catered my sons wedding and they were very unprofessional. They not only ran out of food but the chicken was not cooked all the way. When my son expressed his concerns to the owner Mr Childers he basically said my son and his guests were liars. They were never prepared even for the tasting meeting they had made appointments for. Very unpleasant to work with from start to finish. Find another company to cater your wedding! read more

Generally it's been a good experience when I have been to Childers. The staff members are very slowwwww... But the omelettes are great and the coffees not too bad.. When you eventually receive it! Prices are reasonable, you can usually get a but one get one coupon as well. read more
