Not too familar with Chilean Food, but I thought I would give it a try. Going in I knew that avocado is a food staple, which I love avocado. I had also been told that they like to use maynaise, which I could deal with. I ordered a chacarero, which is a sandwich. As some of the reviews say, it is a large "mansize" sandwich with good flavor. A lot of meat an guacamole type spread, which was good, but a little too much for my taste. They there was the mayo, geeeeeze, did not know they like mayo this much. If I had known, I would have asked for little or on the side. I must say they do warn you about the amount of mayo, so my bad. I would defenitly come back as the service was great and the food was good. Now that I know what to expect, I know I should take some of the stuff off the sandwich and make it more to my liking. read more

I'm Argentinian, but that's not the reason for my mediocre rating! We enjoyed watching the Copa America here and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, I was expecting a hot dog when I ordered my "italiano" but I was too hungry to change my order after receiving a sandwich instead. Unfortunately the meat was some odd substance more akin to chewing gum than beef. I was hoping to like this place more, however the empanadas were good. If you're a valley dwelling Chilean and get a craving for a pastel de choclo or a giant cheese empanada, this is your spot. read more

Ok, first time reviewing a place. Went to dinner last night for the first time with my friend, walk in and noticed it was very busy, but i have to say I had the best food and service I've had in a very long time. I was offered many great suggestions and took the server's advice and got the lomo saltado, my friend got the pastel de choclo, ate every last bite then was offered a dessert and come to find out they make there breads and desserts fresh daily, so of course we had to share one, it was amazing. Just had to put it out there this was an A++ experience, no doubt we'll be there again shortly. read more

The first time I ate at this restaurant I had a stomach issues after the meal. I decided to give the restaurant a second chance since I was in the area and it seemed as though the menu had changed. I ordered the grilled fish with the tomato and onion salad. My husband ordered the chicken with fried egg on top and French fries. We also ordered the corn tamale and the milojas for dessert. I stopped here for dinner after hiking and, being pretty hungry, was staring at the menu for several minutes. Lots of stuff I wanted to try! The woman at the counter was very sweet and suggested one of the specials, so I ordered one of those (Pollo Arvejado) along with a beef empanada. I didn't realize the meal came with bread, but the counter lady brought a basket of warm "dobladitas," which apparently is a Chilean thing: a circle of dough brushed with butter, and then folded in half twice to make layers. It was served with salsa and butter, and was delicious!! And my beef empanada was also very good. As soon as I cut into it, I could smell the beef and the other fillings (spices, raisins, hard-boiled egg). I was already starting to get full when she brought out the pollo arvejado. It was a HUGE amount of food! I actually managed to do significant damage to the chicken, which was slow-cooker tender and very flavorful, but wasn't as excited about the canned peas that accompanied it. The rice and "papas" (french fries) were good, as was the sauce the chicken was stewed in. Hungry as I was, I couldn't finish it. But I considered getting some dobladitas to go (they sell them in their pastry case), and ultimately ended up buying another beef empanada to take home for tomorrow. The restaurant is very spartan, but clean, and the staff were warm and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Heads up! This place changed their menu and they got rid of their regular plates (so now everything is served on paper plates). One big notable is my favorite, Pollo Arvejado, is no longer served daily. Also they no longer include the salad so you need to order it as a side. This makes me sad because it tells me the place is struggling. Service is pretty bad as usual. Last time I was there, they forgot my salad and I couldn't find a staff member for a long period of time. I tried the daily special which was this rib stew and it was not good at all. read more

My co workers and I ordered from here and it was a bad experience from the start the lady over the phone rushed me off the phone and didn't care to take the time to make sure she got my order right she hung up on me so I had to call back to confirm the order was actually placed then when I picked our food up all of our empanadas were thrown in a bag not specifying which ones were which made serving our food a disaster,,, the chicken tamales were cold ! Today was my first time eating authentic Chilean food in a restaurant in a long time. There was a large group of us and we practically ordered the entire menu and got stuff to take home. Everything was delicious. We got humitas, completos, churrascos, bistec, different types of empanadas, ensalada chilena, Dulce's chilenos, and sopaipillas. Everyone loved the food and the people were so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be going back, it's worth the long trip from my neck of the woods. read more

The food is pretty good. So why 2 stars? Because of the tables! They used to have regular tables and chairs, but now they removed them and replaced them with picnic tables and picnic benches! They are SO UNCOMFORTABLE! Don't even try to sit on them if you have back problems! Also, sometimes they play ghetto novelas with shootings and almost naked women. As a true Chilean and a huge supporter for this restaurant, I'm sad to say, I will never come back. The tipical "Pato malo" (it means very bad people in the Chilean community) was at the restaurant. My two boys sat down at an empty table, these horrifying men yelled across the restaurant, telling them to get out of the table because they want to sit there? I asked are these rearved? Apparently these tables are not reserved. I'm sorry, but if it's first come first serve, who ever gets a table, that's your table...right? These men made my kids get up and leave "their" table. Mind you the restaurant was empty...and there were a few available tables. I never felt so unsafe, for all the ladies, specially the single mother's, I don't recommend going to this place for dinner... I rather say do NOT GO at all.. My family and I DID NOT FEEL safe. This is a new restaurant and I hope, only hope, they do understand what makes a place a success. There is a comfortable feeling and environment in their service delivery and premises. Understandably, the staff is not quite fully experienced, yet. But hey tried hard, no doubt. Now, the food varies. I went there with my daughter who loves and misses Chilean food. I am Chilean, and grew up with it. So, we were able to judge the food this first time. My daughter wanted to order a dozen of empanadas to take home. After, we tried them, we agreed to pass. They were dry, and not tasty as they should be; in other words very disappopinting. However, four members of our family, including me, went back for dinner a week later The food was great. Each ordered a different dish in order to test the restaurant, again. I ordered a cheese empanada and a pastel de choclo. Both were superb. The meat empanadas had improved greatly, were very good--tasty and dry. So were the cazuela de carne and lomo a lo pobre. The empanadas are critical, because they are the staple of any successful Chilean restaurant. I do want them to succeed. Our family makes these dishes all the time, but sometimes you want the professionals to take the slack from your kitchen and give people a break. Well, thus far, they will be it. Their service and food deserve a four, sometimes the service may not seem professional, but the food is fine. The prices are just great. If you are looking for a low priced restaurant with good food, this is it. They strive to have a variety of dishes and pastries that are popular in the Chilean cuisine. What a disappointment! It shouldn't be called authentic Chilean food if what it is served is a substitute for the authentic dish. I ordered the " Porotos Granados " and it was nothing like what it should be! Starting with the wrong kind of beans which changes the essence of the whole dish, and a piece of meat on top that was so hard to chew I couldn't finish one little piece! My fiancé ordered a sandwich that lacked any flavor and the meat even though grilled, tasted steamed and had a funny taste to it. When we were asked how the food was and we sent the plates back, we were asked if we wanted a free desert or 20% off our bill. How about not charging us for food we couldn't and didn't eat??!!! I'm sure not all the food is bad, like their empanadas which were really good as well as the pan amasado, but the bad customer service left a sour taste in my mouth. I love this place. Empanadas, lomitos, as (is a hot dog, but with beff), and traditional Chilean food are great. I'm a Chilean woman who is living here for about 2 years. And I can say most of their food taste like in chile. Torta helada de lucuma is great, is like try in bravissimo or tavelli. You should try it! read more
