    12oz Ribeye Steak

Delicious! I came here once before and it was good, and this time it was no different. Service is wonderful, quick and attentive. We ordered a few items and I really enjoyed the ribeye, chicken fried steak, and the onion rings. The house made salsa was good too with a nice kick of spice. Cute and cozy diner offering solid breakfast. It is attached to the outside of the bowling alley and there's ample parking.

Every time I look up breakfast spots, this place always pops up on my list, and I finally decided to check it out over the weekend. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the corned beef hash, which is made in-house. While I appreciate the effort behind the corned beef hash, it left a little to be desired, and I probably won't order it again. It came with a side of hashbrowns, toast, and scrambled eggs, but overall, it was just mid. However, the real star of the show was the CHICKEN & WAFFLES! OMG! I asked the waitress if she recommended this, and she insisted I get it, with a tip to make sure I eat the waffles while they were hot. When the dish arrived, the waffle was perfect--crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, I added just the right amount of butter and syrup. I was in heaven! The fried chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection, with a crispy exterior. I received four generous pieces of chicken. The chicken and waffles is definitely a MUST-HAVE. I will be going back! A few side notes: the restaurant is located inside a bowling alley, the decor is a bit dated. If you need to use the restroom, it's outside the restaurant area (in the bowling area.) There's ample parking since it shares a lot with the neighboring hotel. I also received fantastic service from Kelly--she was bubbly, friendly, and extremely helpful. She's a gem! If you see her, tell her I said hi!

Village Cafe is a simple, food mostly from scratch, restaurant. Not fancy, but delicious each time. Hubby looks forward to a simple cheeseburger and crinkle fries and I enjoy their salads with crisp greens, Persian cucumbers, olives and house dressing. When I have tried the lamb/beef gyro I have found it very yum! The soft pita and fresh tzatziki sauce is a real treat on "cheat day". I hope Village Cafe sees an increase in business now that Winnetka Bowl has closed their "snack bar". These are nice people, running a nice business. Come try VC today. Cheers! "CC"

It has been several years since I had eaten here. Last time I ate here was I think in the 90's when the cafe's menu had some Asian dishes. I remember ordering Spam, eggs, and rice here years ago. Anyways, I ordered the fried chicken and waffles here because I noticed there were tons of positive reviews about it so I had to try it. Chicken was good. The waffle was awesome. Nice and fluffy on the inside and a bit crispy on the outside. Service was perfect!

Attached to the Winnetka Bowl which is located on a very large property in the Valley, I entered and ordered the tasty vegetable omelette with crispy hash browns and coffee. $16 plus coffee, tax, and tip. The buttered toasted bread was a treat and the coffee was good. Through a door in the cafe the massive modern bowl with 32 lanes beckons you to try your luck at a perfect game. And lest you forget, bowling is the most popular sport in the USA.

Service quality is unsatisfactory, food is average, and the pricing does not justify the value. Find another place if you can.

Parking can be found in the Topanga Village garage and is free for the first 1.5 hours. My friend and I came Friday afternoon around 4 pm for their happy hour. Normally happy hour is on their patio, but they seated us in their regular dining area, not sure why. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. It was a nice day out, so we requested outdoor. Unfortunately that meant I was bitten by mosquitos a couple times. All cocktails on the happy hour menu are between $10-11. I got the Boston Sour and my friend got the Social Mule. We both liked our drinks. For food, we shared the following from the happy hour menu: Green goddess hummus ($8 hh) - pretty good, but I wish there was more pita to go with the hummus! Crispy chicken sliders ($11 hh) - ginormous chicken sliders! Would highly recommend! Meatball sliders ($11) - good but on the smaller side, especially when placed side by side with the chicken sliders lol Blackened salmon tacos ($11 hh) - also good, though I found the salmon a bit bland Presentation for the drinks and all the dishes was beautifully done. Everything is plated nicely even for happy hour dishes.

The others got the hot chicken sandwich and french dip which they also really enjoyed. After we finished eating, it did take a while for the staff to come back around and get us boxes and the check. Food: Some of their specialities include the 20+variations of fried empanadas (meats, chicken, pork, veggie, dessert) that come in both savory and sweet types, as well as their speciality plates such as their Korean-style flat iron steak skewers and chicken satay. The sauces they serve with their empanadas are incredible and some of the best I've ever had such as their chimmi-churri, basil-aioli and sweet & sour Thai. I recently did the lunch combo featuring a choice of a 1/2 salad or 1/2 fries, choice of any two empanadas and a canned drink. I chose beef and Kailua pig empanadas; both were great, empanadas didn't break apart and were crispy, everything was seasoned well; the filling of the beef was a bit more than the Kailua pig however. Paris, our server, was an absolute ray of sunshine. We decided to share a variety of dishes, which turned out to be the perfect way to experience the menu. I don't eat meat, but my fellow diners could not stop talking about the Braised Short Rib Rolled Lasagna. The Lemon Gnocchi was light and delicate, the beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, and the Crispy Squash Blossoms stuffed with ratatouille were absolutely delicious. The Cold Hamachi Aguachile was probably the most interesting dish of the night. It's almost like a fish snow cone, which sounds odd until you try it. My mom would call it "moreish" because every bite makes you want another. The Jumbo Prawns à la Plancha were also excellent. But the standout for me was the Eggplant Parmesan. It was completely over the top in the best possible way. If you told me to come back and order nothing but the eggplant and a martini, I'd happily call that dinner. What really stood out beyond the food was the pacing. Dishes arrived at just the right rhythm, the cocktails were excellent, and the playlist somehow added to the atmosphere without competing with the conversation. I took photos of everything, which should tell you how beautiful the food was, but the best part was simply having a genuinely fun evening with friends. Great food, great service, and a restaurant I'll absolutely be back to.
