My review here is specifically regarding the delivery service. I found the food to be great, but I ordered delivery one night when I was sick - I got a curry and some soup and ended up paying $40. We usually go here for the lunch since it's now the only thai place around. The menu is a pan-asian mix of vietnamese pho, thai, and chinese food. Tasty food, but if you want your dish to be spicy ask them to make it spicy and then ask for hot sauce on the side. They will typically make it pretty tasty, but not very hot. read more

Yes! A Thai food place around where I work!!!! The food is great here. There isn't a whole lot of seating available, but maybe just enough. I counted about 12 tables, each seating 2-4. The place looked larger with the mirror trick ... making the room look larger than it was. I ate there yesterday with a few co-workers, and all of us enjoyed it ... well except for one who didn't react too well to the pad Thai ... hmm ... it's different food (flavoring, style, etc). I got the yellow chicken curry, and it was delicious. They presented the food on a rectangular plate and the rice to one end of it in a cone shape. I thought it was kind of clever with the cone shape since they wear tall cone-ish hats with the traditional garments in Thailand. I had a Thai Iced Tea to go, and that was really yummy! Someone mentioned that the Honey Chicken Wings there are unbelievably good, but I didn't try... next time! The employees are very nice and patient, and the food isn't too pricey. My lunch ended up being about $12 with tip. Also, this place is kind of hidden off of rt 20, and I would have never found it without people's recommendations for it. Right in the Mill Village with Ouishii Too and small boutique-ish stores. Plenty of parking! Give it a try! read more

From the service to the huge Chicken Pad Thai, my husband and I love this place! The people are so friendly. The staff will answer any questions abot the menu, spices and preparation. They are helpful and always upbeat. I love their spices, brown rice, vegetable soup, tofu lettuce wraps, and Massaman curry. The lunch specials are such a great deal too! We just happened to stop at this restaurant late one night when driving home from a day out. We are very glad we did :) The food here is SO, SO delicious and flavorful. I find myself craving the coconut soup. Their curry is the best I've ever had. Also, the pad thai is excellent and has quite a unique flavor that I really enjoy. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Also, the food takes no time at all to come out! The restaurant is very clean and well-decorated inside. I was in the mood for pho but I didn't want to travel all the way to the Atrium mall in Chestnut Hill, MA from the Metrowest. I got online and found out that this place serves a pho-like soup, so I though I would try it out. This place is small with nice decor, cloth napkins, very clean, friendly staff. It was empty on a cold Saturday night but seemed to have a steady take-out business. I ordered a seaweed salad to start out. It was large but unfortunately half of it was warm and the other half had ice in it! They were apologetic and took it right off the bill. My chicken soup came and it was indeed their version of pho. Large bowl, a ton of noodles and a LOT of nice white chicken meat. However, pho should come out steaming hot, this was lukewarm. And the broth, while clearly homemade and delicate, lacked flavor. I had to add quite a bit of Thai chili sauce and lime to coax flavor from the broth. The noodles were good. There were a few bean sprouts. I didn't try anything else on the menu. People were starting to come in for dinner and fill the place as I left. My advice to this restaurant: you have a captive audience out here in the burbs, a good location, a cute restaurant. If you are the only Pho source out here, punch it up with some fresh basil leaves thrown in, more chives sprinkled in it, and work on intensifying the flavor of the broth. Soup is my favorite food and pho is high on that list, I will go out of my way for good pho. read more

I just ate at Chili Basil tonight for the last time. Our waitress, who appeared to have a limited understanding of English, brought what I thought was my drink order. Rather than bring a glass of lemonade for a 7 month pregnant woman, she gave me someone else's order, an alcoholic beverage! Unfortunately, I had to take a sip to discover this was the wrong drink. I couldn't get out of this restaurant soon enough. Someone who appeared to be the manager apologized, but didn't take anything off the bill (besides saying, "We won't charge you for the drink."). We will never return to this restaurant, which had lousy and irresponsible customer service!!! read more

I'm loving this Thai restaurant! They need a spice leveling system for their pad thai, however, they are so accommodating. Their pineapple fried rice and noodle dishes are super yummy! The staff are always friendly and they make dining in with a toddler easy. :) They also deliver! It is one of our favorite go to places. read more

I had a lunch special with spring rolls, Wontons, and chicken with broccoli. The food was good, although they were a little chintzy with the dipping sauce. The mophi ice cream for dessert was excellent. What brought their rating down to two stars was that while we were eating the restaurant started to smell strongly of cigarette smoke, either from someone smoking in the kitchen or outside with the door open. Since I am allergic to smoke, it have me a headache for the rest of the day, and ruined the meal for me. read more

The only thing that keeps me from giving them five stars is that they seem to always get my take out order wrong! I am a suckerrrrrrrr for thai food. Moving from the city to burbs, meant giving up my thai food joints :( But, then I stumbled upon this gem, tucked in a plaza, right off route 20. I was at the traffic light when I saw the board stating" NOW OPEN" thank god I was paying attention and not staring at my mirror. Cute little decor, great service and well priced. I ordered my all time favorite...tom yum soup and boy! oh boy! I LOVED IT!! I judge thai restaurant on basis of how good my fav tom yum soup is and this one nailed it! My husband ordered a chicken entree and I ordered an entree with lots of veggies and basil sauce (forgot the name). We just had lunch there, and were not expecting much, and we came away very surprised and pleased at how flavorful the food was. We started with a Singha and Tiger beer, and had some fried shrimp for an appetizer, which was pretty crisp and tasty. We had drunken noodles and the wild boar dish, and both were a great mix of flavors, scents and textures. Really tender pork and chicken, done to perfection, and the sauces were pretty spicy, but not overly so. Overall a great experience. Very friendly service, as well. This place is going on our rotation of good restaurants in Metro West. And lunch for two, including beers and an appetizer, was about 35 bucks. Loving it. Thanks Chili Basil! read more

Note: This restaurant has replaced Sweet Peppers! ----- Four of us came here after a concert, not realizing that Sweet Peppers, a local favorite, had been replaced by Chili Basil and was under new ownership and had a new chef. We hesitated slightly before going in, then decided to give it a go. I'm glad we did. The decor is pleasant, the background music was just right (not too loud or obtrusive), the food was very good and the service was mostly attentive. They were quite accommodating in letting us take a long time to decide on appetizers, entrees, etc. We ended up sampling quite an array of things, including 2 appetizers (basil rolls, and a sampler platter); tamarind duck; chili scallops (with the spice level toned down per our request, on behalf of one of our party who is not a big spice fan); pad thai; and my own new favorite, a spicy eggplant and chicken dish (much better than it sounds!). All of the dishes were beautifully presented and we enjoyed every one of them. The wine and beer list also was interesting, including 5 varieties of sake, and plum wine (however, we went for a pinot gris that was just right for what we were having.) A few logistical things about the service that will probably get better over time, plus a very annoying screaming baby at another table whose parents did nothing to save the other diners' ears, are the only things keeping Chili Basil from getting more stars this time (and of course, the screaming baby wasn't really the restaurant's fault). I'm sure we'll go back though, and I may raise the rating after that. I didn't realize that they deliver; that's a bonus too. Definitely worth a try. Check it out! read more

Yum! Happy to discover this restaurant tucked away in the Mill Village plaza. I've been pleased with every meal I've had there, both eating in and takeout. The service is quick and friendly, and my orders are always ready when I arrive to pick them up. They also have delivery (and online ordering), which is convenient. The restaurant is a little dark, but has a pleasant atmosphere. The food tastes very fresh, especially the vegetables, which are thoroughly cooked but still with a bit of crunch. I've gotten a couple of the vegetarian dishes and they were all delicious. I was disappointed when Morn's in Wayland closed, but I like this place even more! read more

Very disappointed. Did take-out from Chili Basil for the first (and last) time. Food was dry, expensive and the portions were really small. I didn't look in the bag until I got home (who does?), at which point I realized that they actually give you containers that are only 1/2 full. $15 for maybe 2 cups of food. Paid extra for shrimp Pad Thai and got to split the 4 small shrimp among everyone at the table. Need I say more? read more

Have been going to Chili Basil for a little over two years. We only get take-out. The food at Chili Basil is great. Our families' consensus favorite part: the veggies are always perfectly cooked. We order from them about once a week and have tried most items on the menu. Everything that has been ordered as been enjoyed. Plus, their online ordering system is a breeze and makes it easy for special requests/changes for each item. Which is paid-off as their cooks actually read/follow the special requests (e.g., requesting no baby carrots, tofu in a meat dish, or even extra of this or that). Pick-up orders are even ready before I can get there (and we live only 6-7 minutes away). Our whole family is a big, big fan. read more
