    Chicken Kao Soi

Unassuming gem slinging some of the best food (Asian or Otherwise) in Westborough. I've known about Pho and Thai for a while now - it was opened within the last few years while I was still living on the east coast - but my family and I never went. I'm currently back home for a visit and yesterday was a cold and rainy day in Massachusetts - AKA a perfect day for some Noodle Soup. I suggested getting Pho to my parents but our normal place happened to be closed. That's when I remembered Pho and Thai. We got there around 7 PM on a Friday night. There weren't too many people there yet but as our meal went on, more and more groups came. We were promptly seated and our order was taken within 10 minutes or so - there was only one waitress there and she was doing a fantastic job handling and juggling every group that was there For our meal my family got * Roti * Hot and Spicy Wings * Basil Fried Rice * Pho Tai Nam * Kao Soi with Chicken * Slow Cooked Beef Noodle Soup Now mind you, after living in the Bay Area for almost a year, I didn't have the highest of expectations for this restaurant. Especially since it's located in a random Shopping Plaza on Route 9. But boy was I wrong. This restaurant blew all my expectations out of the water. The first thing to come out was the Basil Fried rice. At first I was disappointed that our appetizers didn't come out first... and then I had a bite. .... GOD DAMN this was the best Basil Fried Rice i've had in a loooooonnngg time. It was cooked perfectly and the spice level was actually spicy. And that's saying something, especially coming from me. The next item to come out was the Roti , which was extra flakey and rich and paired very nicely with the curry dip on the side. Afterwards our noodles soups came out. I got the slow cooked beef noodle soup on the recommendation of our waitress and I was not disappointed. The broth was extra rich and had deep umami flavor and the meat was extra tender. My parents got the Kao Soi and they were absolutely thrilled - they aren't the biggest fan of Pho so this was a perfect choice for them. Hearty, extra flavorful, and not too spicy for them. And lastly, the Pho Tai Nam (rare beef and brisket pho) was for my brother. I didn't get to have much but I'll let his words do the talking : "This is better than most of the Pho I've had in Boston". Lastly, the wings showed up... while it was strange for them to be the last item on the table, they were absolutely delicious and my family still ate them regardless. Incredible food aside, the service here was top notch. I'd like to shout out our waitress again - she really did a fantastic job with everyone including us. She was very accommodating and brought us extra plates and bowls so we could share items easily. She was also very friendly. Price wise, we definitely got our moneys worth of food. For all the items I mentioned it was about 90 Dollars (~ 22.5 dollars per person) which, for the portion sizes we got, I found to be a great value. To wrap this up, Pho and Thai is a standout for me in the Westborough food scene. Don't let the location fool you - this place is a must visit for sure. I think I've found my new regular Pho spot in Central MA. Food: 5 Service: 5 Bang for Buck: 5 Final Rating : 5/5

Best Drunken Noodles in Boston! Tried many places around and it's by far the best. Cooked perfectly, adjust the spicy level, they pack in the crushed pepper. The Thai ice teas aren't too sweet or full of ice. Waitresses are attentive and the restaurant is always clean.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. The vibes were calm, but we were able to speak freaky. The servers were very attentive to us . The food came our fast and it was allll delicious. I have o0 complaints about the food. The pho was just what I needed. Lots of noddles lots of fresh broth and perfect amount of chicken..

I came here with a friend to try for lunch. Overall very happy with the experience. Since they are relatively new and still covid, doesn't seem hard to get seated. Staff was very friendly and we decided to try the Pho given if it is in your name, it should be a star dish. We started with the spring rolls which were great. Light and with good house dipping sauce. For the main course we both tried different Pho. In short lunch was great. Order was correct, food was delicious. Service was excellent as well. In short everything I would expect and will definitely make me come back.

Proceed with caution - a little bit goes a long way! My pho was hot!!!

First time trying this new restaurant in an area with many Thai options. Mixed feelings. The flavors of the food were very good. The Pad C U w/ tofu was solid. They use "American" broccoli rather than "Chinese" broccoli often used elsewhere. The large beef pho w/ brisket and rare beef had a very flavorful broth, with strong hints of star anise and Chinese five-spice, and the noodles were a good consistency and held up to the broth. However, the "rare" beef wasn't rare at all, and the little amount of brisket was gristly. The pho had traditional accompaniments, though the sprouts, lime and jalapeño seemed like they were dry and sitting out for a while. I could barely get any juice from the lime wedge. Our teenage server was polite, but not very attentive as he never refilled our water or checked on us. The decor of the small strip mall restaurant is pleasant, but the cobwebs on the decorations near the window make me question the cleaning procedures of the restaurant. Prices were reasonable, but a little high compared to other local Thai restaurants - especially given lunch prices are the same as dinner prices. Overall, it seems like they've got a great chef that puts out solid, flavorful food. However, to become my go-to for Thai in an area full of Thai restaurants, they really need to focus on some other details - freshness, service, cleanliness, etc.

My fav new Thai place. Love their Pho. Ordered Spicy Hot wings appetizer. Pho Tai Nam (rare steak and brisket) and finish it off with Thai ice tea. Very fresh and delicious food. You can't go wrong.

Went here for the first time last week and went again last night. We loved this place so much we brought our closest friends here to share dinner with us! We love the food! The service is great we are always greeted with a smile by the host. He is very attentive and polite. The vibe of the place is calm and clean. The food is absolutely delicious every time and very hearty in flavor. This time we ordered the crab Rangoon's, roasted sesame chicken wings for an appetizer (not pictured) both were delicious! I tried the #2 pho last time I was here it was deep in flavor and a little minty. Meat was soft and broke apart easily. This time I tried the Tom Yum Pho with Shrimp. It was sweet and sour and they gave me lots of good sized shrimps. Definitely recommend if you are in the area for some great Pho and the price is great both are a small in the pictures for $13.99!!! We haven't been able to finish a small, can't imagine a large! You will definitely be taking some home!

    Flavorless red curry.

Mistake. Went here at 5:45 for takeout after going to launch with my kids. I ordered in store and said I'd wait in the car. I ordered my kids boba tea to help pass the time and then ordered 5 meals to go and crab Rangoon. She said it would be 10 mins for the boba tea but didn't quote a time for the rest of the takeout but there was only one party of two eating inside when we arrived. First boba tea came out after 15 mins and they were missing the second. Having 2 kids this is a problem and she said she'd bring it out to the car so I said great thanks. After waiting 40 mins no boba and my food still wasn't ready so I went to wait inside figuring if they had to deal with my 2 kids in there they'd hurry up. Boba took another 5 mins to come out and even though it was the same order as before it was made completely different. We waited another 5 mins and some door dash drivers came in and they were waiting a while and someone else had the wrong order. I asked how much longer and they said 10 mins. I said we've already been waiting 40 mins. At that point I think they said screw it and decided they were done cooking my order. So after about 50 mins our food was ready. Get it home - and some dishes were average, the other half were terrible, and so between the wait when it was empty and the fact it cost $95, I would rank it as the worst Thai food in metro west. Crab rangoons - $8 for 5. They were burnt and tasted frozen. The filling was grainy and curdled. Kids chicken and rice with peanut sauce - actually ok Kids chicken with ginger sauce and noodles - there was no sauce. It was a clump of dry noodles. Horrible. Beef pad see yew - a little sweet but good Chicken red curry - pretty sure they just put slightly spicy coconut milk. The curry was so white but was like bland coconut milk. I don't think there was any curry paste in there. Chicken yellow curry - also ok. But nothing special. Run from this place.

Always my go to for some PHO :)…read more The food is always very good, and the staff is extremely professional and helpful! Love this place!

The other day, I finished trying all of the phở places I could find in Fitchburg and Leominster,…read moreand a majority of places in Worcester. I felt that it was appropriate for me to come back here and see if my (and my wife's!!) opinions on phở have changed in the past year. I actually live down the street from this place, and despite being in very close proximity I've only been here... 4 times? Located in a small strip mall right next to the N Main Street, Leominster Dunkin' Donuts, this place has been a solid fixture that I've passed by nearly every day since I could even remember anything. Google AI Overview tells me they've been open since 1998. With that said, the parking is a pain since it requires diagonal parking and little room for error when backing out. It's a shared lot between a few other businesses too, so I don't really understand how they can manage on busy days. I've only come here for dinner and the place has a nice, very dim atmosphere. This seems exactly the kind of spot to bring your partner out for a quiet dinner; I don't think I heard anyone else around us talking lol. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive but I can't help but feel disappointed that no one speaks Vietnamese; they said they were all Hmong. Anyways... Sparkling Salty Plum Drink ; this drink is always delicious in every place and this quality matches all others. and I'm always left wanting more. recommended. Gỏi Cuốn ; Vietnamese salad (or fresh) rolls. I order this at every restaurant that serves it. I have to be candid here - this is the worst one I've had out of the dozens of Asian restaurants I've eaten in. These rolls were mostly lettuce, so the crispy and watery texture is all you can taste and feel. The peanut sauce was also the most flavorless I've tried as well. For the first time ever my wife had to scoop a decent amount onto her roll just to taste something - she always dunks the teeniest tiniest corner at other places. Do. Not. Recommend. Phở Bò Viên ; this was the first phở spot I brought my wife and both of us agreed... we did not like the phở here. Have our opinions changed? Not really. The broth is very light with a delicate beef flavor. I could see myself enjoying this in the spring time if I was looking for a light lunch. As I got further in the bowl the tangy and oniony flavor really comes out and I'm left finding it unpleasant. Upon first taste before I dug in, my wife still found the broth too sour. This place also has the samn damn problem as many others: the noodles are TOO narrow and slippery and they rob most of the volume of the bowl. And you better eat it fast before it's too soggy. The meatballs here were way tougher than other phở places. Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang ; this was my wife's choice and off the bat she said this bowl is too sweet. That's actually crazy since she finds most places to be too salty and too sour. I took a sip of it and had to agree. The broth is light but has a strong seafood-forward and sweet taste. She managed to eat all of it, but she really had to alter the bowl with lime juice and Sriracha to make it palatable. Overall, we didn't particular like our last visit, and our minds haven't really changed after giving it another shot. Maybe I'll come back some other time to try the rice dishes.

First,…read morehappy that I had read that there was no public restroom, and stopped at Dunkin before going to the restaurant. It is indeed a "no public facilities" place. We ate in, it was quite comfortable, with 2 or 3 small tables. I did get an actual metal fork. Onto the food: I had the lemongrass steak rice bowl, which came with a small cup of sauce. The beef was delicious and the vegetables (cucumbers, carrots, lettuce) were fresh and excellent. Unfortunately, the rice was not. It appeared that the rice had been leftover in the fridge -- it was very very hard and clumpy (could not break it up with a fork). It was all at the bottom of the bowl so I could not mix it together. Basically I ended up with lemongrass beef salad. Tasted good, but disappointed about the rice. My husband had one of the banh mi sandwiches. He was impressed by the amount of meat, and it tasted good. He said the bread was somewhat stale, but it was just before closing so probably understandable. Overall I think this would be a better lunch option, but I'm willing to try it again. Hopefully the rice issue was a one-off.

Disappointed in their menu a bit as it's mostly catered to the demographic in the area but understandable. The pho options are not enticing but decent banh mi options. Originally wanted to try cold cut but the steak sounded good. It was a decent size for 1 per and good amount of steak. I definitely enjoyed it. Got a side of spring rolls as well and while I enjoyed it.. it didn't hit the spot. Couldn't really taste the pork belly or even see the pork belly and only 1 shrimp :( very skimpy on the protein and was mostly lettuce Overall.. it's good for Foxboro but it's definitely pricey.
