I usually love eating at Chili's and, to be fair, this review is only for the Hixson-Northgate location as the other locations are five star as far as I'm concerned (Gunbarrel Rd rocks above them all!) Back to the Northgate location...two out of the past three visits we have had issues with the place - both flavor and service. The last time my wife and I ate there, prior to tonight, their payment service was down and all we had to pay was a bank card. It took forever to get our bill paid (yes, some of this responsibility belongs to their payment provider). Tonight, I ordered the chicken fajitas but was charged for a mix and match with the up-charge of a couple dollars. The waitress said she didn't know why it did that, but my opinion is "it" allowed it to happen when "she" clicked the button for the higher charge hoping we wouldn't notice - we did and she adjusted it. Next, the flavor of the food was just nominal. My fajitas were good, but my wife's order was less than impressive. She ordered the boneless wings and it was just blah. We also ordered a plain bacon cheeseburger with fries to go. It cost $10 plus for a burger and fries; just too high of a cost. But, when we got home and have the burger to our son, it had lettuce, tomatoes and onions, BUT no bacon! Enough is enough! We won't be back to this particular store and will need to drive out to East Brainerd to eat at the one on Gunbarrel Rd. Sad because we have a Chili's 10 minutes from our house! read more

Yesterday was the second time recently that we tried to eat here for a weekend lunch. Both times there was a 30-45 minute wait despite the place being deserted. Perhaps it was a lack of servers? Don't know because the host just acted like it was normal - no explanation. read more

I am a Chili's fanatic! I'm obsessed and love it. I would usually visit once or twice a week. However, the last 3 times I've been to the Chili's in hixson, the entire experience was tragic. The last time i visited was the last time i will. We had to wait 20 minutes until we even got to order drinks. Then it was another 20 minutes until we received those drinks. When we did get the drinks, one of us ordered a Margarita. The glass was filled to the top with water from the ice that has melted because we had been waiting that long. The server set the watered glass down then poured the margarit mix on top of the water filled glass. Then the server left again for another 10 minutes which is when we checked out of the kiosk and left. It was ridiculous. I won't be back. read more

Wow, used to LOVE this place. Fast friendly service, and good food. Who could ask for more? Well, these days people sit in the lobby with loads of available tables, and when you're FINALLY seated...no service, and I mean NO SERVICE. Maybe it's because I'm by myself, and servers feel they won't get a good tip, but to sit for 15 minutes, without even an offer to get a drink is inexcusable. If the house is packed out, maybe understandable, but that wasn't the case today. I got up and left hungry, without even getting a sip of water. It started out bad with lipstick on the soda glass . We had ordered our food and it was wrong. I was completely disgusted that there is no one that actually checks your drinks and food before it comes to the table. At least one person from the dishwasher to the server should have seen a dirty glass. The Mac and cheese had black flecks in it, probably came off a stirring spoon from something else. Finally we had a dish come from the kitchen with chicken instead of the shrimp which was ordered. So not coming back. Chilis is going downhill quickly. read more

Don't waste your time going to the hixson chilis. We were told there Would be a 20-25 minute wait. So we stand in there waiting for 25 minutes and the entire time there was several booths and tables open while the lobby was filled with people waiting to be seated. We get to our seat and waited 15 minutes before someone got our drink order. Our waitress was extremely rude, the appetizer tasted like it had been sitting out for at least 30 minutes. The chicken was over cooked and the fries were very cold. We have had bad service here before but after tonight we will NEVER be back!!!! read more

My son and his wife wanted us to meet them for dinner at Chile's near Northgate Shopping Center. Even though it was Friday evening, we were seated promptly. We ordered beverages and appetizers. About 30 minutes later, the waitress brought one of the appetizers, queso and chips. The queso was about room temperature. My son ordered table-side guacamole. The waitress brought about 15 minutes after the cold queso. The avocados were so hard, the waitress could not mash them up. I told her to take it back. A manager showed up at the table and sent regular guacamole that was not ordered or wanted by anyone in our party. My daughter-in-law and I ordered chicken fajitas. The chicken on both of our Fajitas was dripping with water. My son ordered a chicken dish and his chicken was wet and soggy too. I asked the waitress to have a manager come to our table. The manager told me they no longer grill chicken in the restaurant anymore because most of their food comes in frozen and is heated in an oven like a frozen pasta dish. I accepted a replacement plate because it was late and I had not eaten lunch. I got chipotle chicken tenders, french fries and steamed broccoli. The manager assured me that my food would be freshly prepared. The chicken tenders and broccoli were room temperature. I tipped the waitress nicely because that's what she does for a living and I admire people who are willing to work for a living (even though my glass was empty most of the time). First time at Chili's My mother and father took me to Chili's for dinner. We were quickly seated. The place was so busy at time we thought that it would take at least an hour to get seated. before we could even talk under the table talk about our expectations "BAMBAM" There she was Heather, getting our drinks handing us our menus. She was fun to watch never stopped moving and talking cleaning and walking all at the same time. We put in our order. "Low and Behold she saved us money, by suggesting order together in a special order, getting everything we had wanted to order. The food was. Delicious!!! We overheard her having a conversation with the table next to us. "Get this" the woman drove 30 minutes each way to come to work here! I am so glad that she does otherwise I don't think my visit would've been 100% as enjoyable as it was. We could not stop raving how quick and efficient she was. Since the revamp of the menu and the addition of the table kiosk, I have had nothing but great experiences. I have been three times in the last two months and every time has been exceptional. Went to Chili's February 25 for baby back ribs. Had to wait several minutes after we were seated before a server ever came to the table. Seems the server had "forgotten" they had our table. Ordered the baby back ribs, which by the way are advertised everywhere in the building even on the t-shirts the servers are wearing, and "we are out of ribs". Really???? How do you run out of the thing you are famous for and advertise the most??? I ordered chicken and it was cold when it was served. Had to ask for drink refills and our endless chips and salsa was never offered to be refilled. This was a very disappointing experience. My father in law and mother in law were almost hospitalized from their food after spending the night in their bathroom floor. We had not eaten at Chili's in a long time. We received a gift card and decided to try them once more since it would be a free meal. What a disappointment! First we had onion rings which were under par. They could take lessons from Cheddar's on onion rings. The baby back ribs were a sad example; looked nothing like the ones on their website. I'm pretty sure the staff here are trained to ignore you and be extremely unfriendly. We have eaten here very sporadically for a few years and the service is always simply terrible. Filthy tables remain unclean for far too long. On our most recent visit, this past Friday- it was 8:30 when we arrived. The only 2 empty tables in the bar area were dirty. We finally sat on the edge of the seats at one in hopes that it would be cleaned soon. Finally, after about 5 minutes, the manager came and cleaned it off with a nasty scowl on her face, and she didn't say hi or apologize- not one word. Just a very unwelcoming frown. The food is fine, consistently pretty good. But the service isn't worth going. Just pisses you off, well, me anyways. If this were a first, I would understand. read more

Chili's has a great express lunch menu. My favorite is the unlimited soup and salad and it comes with chips and salsa. I've tried Applebee's and O'Charley's who also have the soup and salad combo. The portions at Applebee's are small and while the salad is served on a cute little dish you have no room to mix the dressing in and the soup at O'Charley's was cold and salty. Go to Chili's and you won't regret it. Fast, friendly service and the food is excellent. Bonus: They support St. Jude Children's Hospital in finding a cure for childhood cancer. Found a hair in my daughters food....we almost vomited, paid and left never to return.

We've never had a bad experience here until last night. When we got there, the hostess asked us how many but never took down our name. She just told us to wait because there were no seats at the bar, even though we didn't ask to sit at the bar. After waiting for at least 10-15 minutes, I went up to the hostess to see how much longer. She asked for our name, which she never took. She was rude and had a sour attitude. She didn't seem like she cared about any of the customers. We realized that the groups that came in after us would be seated before us, so we decided to leave. We'll probably be back, but we hope that same hostess won't be there. read more

Never in my life have I ever experienced a restaurant take a policy to such a ridiculous excess as this establishment! I took my mother, who is in her 80's, and 3 of her friends also in their 80's for lunch on Sunday and they refused to serve her a margarita because she didn't have an ID!! Obviously she is not 21!! She doesn't drive, and needs a walker, so I care for her, and some times I don't carry her ID. The manager refused, so we all got up and left! I was sorry to have to make her get up again on her walker and leave, but when a restaurant's management loses perspective between what is "Right" and what "Is Not" then don't bother eating here with your family! After arriving in 20 minutes (the amount of time the young lady told me it would be until my to go food was ready for pick-up) I waited an additional 15 minutes for the girl running the to go section to bring out my order, which was incorrect. (Missing egg rolls- that I paid for) I was using a gift card that was a Christmas gift and when she ran it, something was done incorrectly- when she asked the manager for help, he came over, cleared the screen and then said "umm, is that all you needed me for?" Every member of the wait staff seemed sluggish and inattentive and every person that I interacted with was incredibly rude and short, as if it were a bother for them to help. I will not be going back to this chili's and I would hope the wait staff undergoes further training in order to achieve proper customer service. read more

I have probably had the majority of the items on the menu and still come back because I can't get enough of it! I love the atmosphere at Chilli's. My wife and I frequently visit our local Chili's in Hixson, Tennessee. It's her favorite place to eat out. The service is always top notch. Everyone is friendly and very informative when we have any questions. You never sit there wondering where in the world your food is like you will at most places. Best of all, the FOOD! It is always mouthwatering and delicious. With a wide variety of food on the menu there is something here for everyone, any age, with the pickiest of tastes. I've always been a fan of Chilis and their service but Recently i had a bad experience with the Hixson TN store. My wife and I visited on a Saturday evening and were told we could expect a 25-35 minute wait. So we left our name and sat down on the bench inside the first set of doors. We waited 30 minutes and approached the hostess and questioned our our current placement on the Wait list. The hostess then said that she called for our party 15 minutes earlier.? We never heard the call for our table! I'm Not sure why Chilies no longer uses the table pager system nor do they have a paging PA system. We have to rely on some soft spoken kid to whisper out our name on the inside of the loud restaurant to be prompted to be sat?The hostess never opened the door to inform the customers that were waiting in that area or outside? If you abandon the paging system and the PA system you have got to be more personal and attempt to connect with waiting customers. 20 people at the entrance, no PA system and no table pager equals an epic fail and another Applebee's customeri! read more

first time dining at Chili's will never go back, food was terrible ordered the fajitas paid extra for steak and shrimp got maybe 8 thin strips of steak maybe 2 oz worth and 8 shrimp peppers and onions were soggy food was cold in spots , restaurant wasn't busy but took 45 min for food,asked the server why it was taking so long he said they were making sure the shrimp was done, I cook it takes less than 5 min to cook shrimp in all fairness will say the appetizers were good chicken tenders, fried pickles and cheese drops. read more
