The food was great! When we opened our Italian beef it was steaming and fresh and our fries were hot and crispy. All the food tasted amazing and it was a very short wait! Stopped in for lunch like I've done many times. Loved the American sub. Basic and yummy! Mask order was still in effect but no one behind the counter was wearing one. Ok, I can live with that... It weirded me out a bit because they are cooking, preparing and serving food, but whatever. However, now I'm watching the woman prepare my sub... One hand gloved and the other is bare. Good thing she's holding the bread with the gloved hand and grabbing all of the ham, lettuce and tomato with HER BARE HAND. GROSS!! If having a stranger grab your meat and fixings to prepare your food with a bare - God knows when it was last washed or what she touched before - hand, then enjoy your lunch/dinner. Otherwise, you may want to reconsider getting your food from this place. I won't be going back. I've retold the story to several folks at the office. All of them are done with this place. I was here May 12th Its a new location for me. last time I was here though the 2 dog , fries and drink specuial was $5.00 and I reviewed that as being cheap the new price is $10.00 for the same thing now. I know ist been 13 years and ptrices have gone up. The quality of the dogs were good and the fries were really good I just cannot justify $10.00 for what you get. To me a special is a special price, everywhere else this is regular price $8-9 dollars. Their Gyros are lacking, dogs aren't that good and the pizza is NY style. I always find their buns to be hard on the edges and they make the dogs so fast that they tend to miss with the topping or don't put enough on. The service has gotten old to me...I used to appreciate their snobbyness, as though it was their schtick, but it now is just annoying. This being the third time I ordered from Tommy's. Both times were via uber, so I gave them some credit. But both my first two orders were messed up. Not only did my first order forget the drink (which I put on uber), they didn't have one of the items I ordered (onion rings) so they just gave me french fries. Ok Ok. Could've gone better. Next time I uber ordered, my food was missing an entire item. Uber gave me some money back. This most recent time I went through their drive through. I put in a $30 order for me and a work friend. There was Italian Beef sauce ALL OVER the bag and every item in it... breaking the bottom of the paper bag open. They forgot the cheese cup. And, they got one of the drinks wrong. This concerns the place at Algonquin Rd and Randall. Going downhill fast. Walked in, ordered a beef sandwich, fries and a soda. The guy taking the order couldn't stop flipping his hair out of his face. When he wasn't flipping it back he was flipping it into his face so he could flip it back again. I got his attention and stated: "I want that sandwich DRY. Plain. Nothing on it. I want it so dry I want to see dust coming off of it. PLAIN! Meat and bread. That's it." With a couple flips of his hair he asks: "Would you like like peppers or cheese on that sandwich?" If my wife hadn't been there that boy might have gotten a free haircut. I don't know why I come back to this place. I think I went here today because my normal pizza place is closed on Tuesdays. I got a slice of pepperoni, fries and a drink for $5.50. The pizza was hard, greasy, had the consistency of cardboard and had probably been sitting for several hours. The fries are easily the best thing at Tommy's. They are always Fresh out of the fryer and will burn your mouth. Refills on soda for only $.25 and they take the $.25 and put it in the donation container for multiple sclerosis. So props Tommy's for that. They finally accept credit cards... Visa and MasterCard only. There is certainly better food in the area. Solid joint with a very diverse menu. Finished my third trip there this week and dig the Gyros. Not the best I've had but very good. This last time, they put Tzatziki Sauce on without my asking. If I read the menu correctly, you have to ask for Tzatziki. So I just said no tomato no onion... they put the sauce on anyway. Since the taste of cucumber is vile to me I just couldn't force myself to eat it. Recalling the French Toast Scene from "Road Trip", I was hesitant to send it back. From their cheap hotdog special, 5 dolalrs for two dogs, fries and a drink- to their grease ladden pizza. The chicken poppers are good, but the hot dogs? They are the best in town. Sure, the decorations leave something to be desired, and the small parking lot can cause a headache or two if you're not careful- But They will make your dog the way you want it, and for a good price.
