We eat here all the time, at least 2x a month for years now. We have never not thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Staff is always upbeat and pleasant. Great, varied menu with healthy choices as options. Mushroom swiss burger with garlic is outstanding, chicken rancho tacos with corn tortillas (ask for corn instead of flour) are amazing, and chicken fajitas are great too! Love their chili and Caribbean salad as well. Fantastic salsa! Chips are made of corn, so gluten free. read more

Horrible experience today! Every time I come here during lunch my order gets screwed up and the wait time for your food to come out is ridiculous. Was with a party of 7 (3 lunch combos/3kids meals/1 reg menu order) and 3 of the food orders were wrong (2 kids meals). The manager did comp the 3 kids meals but the service all together was lacking. Great food, but the service is absolutely AWFUL. Being a waitress, I know how a table should be treated and the last 3 times at this restaurant there has been terrible servers. It was a 5 minute wait to be greeted, another 10 minutes to order food, and the check was placed on the table 3 minutes after the food was delivered. I went to this Chilis location yesterday at a prime time, or the tail end of it (whatever you want to call 7pm). No wait for a party of two and we were able to get a bigger table than those tiny booths they usually try and seat two people (after asking). Our server was nice, and didn't seem too rushed to get our orders and turn the table but it also left us waiting to order a few extra minutes. When our food came out, my food was piping hot, I could hardly pick up a piece with my hands without having to drop it while the other person in my party's food was just warm. When I was finally able to eat without feeling like I was going to burn my fingers, what I bit into was not the greatest tasting meal; like all restaurant chains they change things up I guess to keep things new. I asked the waiter if they had changed the type of meat they used in my meal and he couldn't tell me. I explained that the last time I had had it the meat looked different; he said he would go ask. The manager, Jim, came over not two minutes later (I had already seen him as he had stopped by our table to say good evening and made his rounds to other random tables which I thought was great). He did explain that they did, in fact, change the meat and he agreed that it wasn't as good as before. He offered to take the meal off the check and treated us to a desert on them. He personally brought it out not three minutes later and apologized once again for the meal. The one thing I noticed and really liked was that the managers were making rounds to tables regularly to make sure and assist with any needed refills and to check if people were enjoying their meals. i did not notice it being "filthy" like other reviews have noted and I will definitely make another trip here in the future and order something different. Plates, silver wear, and cups were clean with no food on them and their liquor license has been reinstated because I did see people with drinks. read more

I actually really like the food, the new menu has great selections at a better quality then it used to be, and prices are reasonable. Take out: always ready when i get here, and order is always correct. Eating in: try another location for a more clean and friendly visit. This location has dirty bathrooms, and a few unhappy servers. I understand a long wait on weekend nights: but there is not much room up front to stand or sit. Extra point because managers always work really hard to make things right when you say something. Been here a few times over the years with the family or a night out with friends. Drinks and food have been pretty good! They've taken a lot of the personal interaction with the waitress away by adding the tablet at the table to pay. Chips and salsa is always a plus. I typically get the mini burgers but heard that the fajitas are a fan favorite. Good place for healthy options as well, so there always seems to be something for everyone. read more

This was by far my worst experience with Chili's. I used to go all the time but my wife isn't a huge fan so I hadn't been to a Chili's in a while. I usually haven't had a bad meal myself at most Chili's restaurants, but at this location I unfortunately had a bad experience. Let me point out the good things. Appetizers we're spot on with any other location. My friends' burger, he said was good. I ordered to go so I can't speak on the service but the manager was friendly. One of my favorite items on the menu was their buffalo chicken sandwich. Mine was inedible. And when you order to go, you can't just send it back. I found myself having to spit out half the sandwich due to the nasty quality of the chicken. Very rough to TRY and chew. I thought to myself "not every bite can be that way" and continued. (With chicken it's to be expected sometimes.) I guess I will really never know, because after a few more gross bites I threw the rest in the garbage. This was always one of my favorite menu items. I've eaten plenty of them. This one was so bad, I can't give more than 2 stars. I might come back for something some day, but you've forever ruined that sandwich for me. read more

First time at this place and I was positively surprised at the service, waiter made sure to answer our questions regarding how they prepare the salmon sandwich and they made it custom just the way I liked it with garlic butter on top! You have to get the chips with the salsa, it was complimentary along with any soft drink which is not unusual for a place like Chili's but what was really great is that our waiter came with a new glass even before we had finished drinking our previous glass. And to finish it off I had a deliciooooous chocolate lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, buttery soft chocolate dough with silk smooth dark chocolate, which by the way was not heavy at all. I hadn't been to Chili's for some time, saw new menu and online benefits. I logged in to get the free chips and salsa, but the wait staff didn't scan the barcode, so I i was charged for it. I called the manager and he said there's no refund, the credit needs to be applied at the time of service. I could come in and get a free order. But that means i still have to pay for what should have been a free order. Bad service. I will get my "free" order but never go there again. What poor management. read more

I enjoy Chili's in Crystal Lake. What I do not enjoy is being charged $32 for the 2 for $22 special. The last four times I have been to Chili's in Crystal Lake, IL, I have been billed for the appetizer and entrees separately for the 2 for $22 special resulting in a nearly $10 overcharge. The first time I wrote it off to an honest mistake, but after four incidents there is nothing honest about these "mistakes". We have had so many issues with this particular Chili's lately, but unfortunately it is the closest one to us. Since it's COVID, we have been getting a lot of carry out. FIRST, we ordered through Door Dash and after awhile we received the wrong order. I called the delivery driver and she said they just handed her the bag for the order she was there for. We attempted to call chili's OVER 10 TIMES. No one picked up so I'm pretty sure the phone was off the hook. We obviously ordered delivery so we wouldn't have to leave the house. Since no one picked up the phone we had to get in our car and drive to chili's. When I walked in I said we received the wrong order and they said "oh yeah for Elizabeth?" so they obviously knew they had mixed up the orders. But did they do anything to fix it? Give us a call? Absolutely nothing. Then they tried handing us the bag that had been sitting there for an hour. I said I didn't want that so they remade the food so we had to wait another 15 minutes. They offered to refund the delivery cost, but I didn't feel like that was enough. I couldn't believe they reacted this way and of course they tried blaming Door Dash. SECOND we no longer order delivery for the reason above, so we order curbside pickup since it's still COVID. We often order the Molten Lava cake and TWICE now they have forgotten the ice cream with it. First time wasn't a huge deal, but it's incredibly frustrating when the same issue continues to happen. I had Parmesan breaded tilapia, it came with broccoli and rice. I would give it a six out of 10. It was a very good price though. I had a coupon for a bag of chips that came with salsa case so or guacamole with the purchase of an adult entrée. I mentioned to the lady that I meant to order a case so instead of salsa, and she gave me both. The bag of chips was huge. A lot of free food. So I got a halfway decent seafood meal and chips for under $13. With a large soda. Cannot beat that. read more

I ordered online a fajita small party tray mix or match or whatever you wanna call it and I also called the location to make sure my steak was "well done" and the girl that took it thought I said I wanted "beef"... so instead of getting my half chicken and well done steak ... I got chicken and beef! Like, are you serious ? I said I want my steak well done and you changed my order from steak to beef. I was livid when I got home. I just got off from work and didn't eat all day so you know that feeling when someone mess up your order and you hungry and just wanna eat ..... but you mad and hungry so you just eat it because you don't have the energy or time to drive back and say something to them. That was one of them day .And another thing is how are you going to spill tomatoes in my bean tray and still serve that to me? That's not presentable and definitely unprofessional. I know you seen that in my bean try and was thinking it's ok because it's To Go so it doesn't matter...what if I was allergic to tomotoes ! Luckily, I am not. You lucky though. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but two times in a row, the service was slow, we were waiting for our food for over an hour and when we got it, it was cold and undercooked. The place wasn't even that clean, and the second waitress we had was not too friendly or attentive. However, I have nothing but nice things to say about Louis the waiter. He is friendly, polite, and makes a bad experience better by trying to make things right. I was in for a late lunch, sat in a booth in the bar section. Service was poor and the food ok, the menu changed yet again. Overall an poor experience soon I understood why. The GM was talking while sitting at the bar next to an old man. He was bragging about all of his money, the land he owned and the fact he didn't really need to work. Then a young man walked in with a resume, he asked for the GM this guy said he was and his name was Curtis, he took the resume and explained that the young man needed to apply on line for any opportunities. The young man left and the GM proceeded to discuss the potential employees qualifications with the old man at the bar, by the end of the conversation we even knew the applicant was previously employed at Portillos as a manager. This went on for our entire meal, so who is watching the staff while this guy is stroking his ego to a patron who probably did not want to hear about it in the first place. I think this explains the gradual downturn in the quality of food and lack of attention by the servers. I will not be back at any Chili's resturant in the near future. read more

This is where we had our team dinner on the first night of Spirit Camp this past weekend. We had close to 40 people, needing to be seated and fed and they were great in providing a space and serving us. The Chili's food is pretty standard, but what really shone through was the wait staff. I'm unsure if it was the same waiter who was serving all of our tables, but he was pretty great in handling all of us. I never felt like I was hungry waiting for food and he managed the time efficiently. For example, two people at my table were getting the Two for $20 option and he asked if he could put in their appetizer order in right away. We all said that was fine and then he came back and took the rest of our table's order. The appetizer came out and shortly after the food came out. He checked on us and we never really had to wait for refills with other wait staff coming by and checking on our drinks. Typically with such a large group, the service can be a nightmare, but at this Chili's, the service was topnotch and worthy of praise. read more

This is our local Chili's - read some of the previous reviews and agree that some of their shops have had poor service/food (no surprise to us that the Golf Rd near Algonquin in Elk Grove location closed), but we've always had great service here! Especially the bar where it's often easier to grab a bite, watch a game or just good conversation with friends/family. The bartenders are very friendly and attentive! If I could give a zero I would. I just picked up my to go order and my whole order was wrong. I ordered three 3 for $10 and a salad and was charged over $60! The projected total from the online chilies was $42. Once I looked at the order I was missing two sides, two salads and an order of chips and salsa plus my chicken was the wrong kind of chicken. When I called the manager at Chilis they said they were unable to comp my whole order and could only give me a voucher. I do not wish to return to this restaurant due the awful service. The other times I've come had been just fine....but tonight different story....well I took my mom out for girls night tonight, and things were going well, we ordered white Zinfandel, waters with lemon, and we got guacamole and salsa with tortilla chips for an appetizer, then we ordered 6oz steaks, mashed potatoes, and broccoli, then for dessert chocolate molten lava cake. Things were going swell, the bill was like thirty something...I gave the waitress my twenty five dollar gift card and a twenty. Been here at least 20 times in the past 15 years. Seems to get dirtier each time. This time was my last time. Menus were filthy with old food and sticky substances on each page. Iced tea glass had food stuck to the outside you could scrape off with your fingernail. I hate to imagine how dirty the inside of that glass was. read more

Like other locations I've been to, Chili's is definitely a place to go and get some good cooked food. Or, if you're in a happy hour mood, you can get some good drinks there as well. Usually I get the occasional burger as my meal. It's only rare that I try something different. Last time I was at this location, which was my first time, I was with a big group of people from a church after Easter service. It was a nice gathering, getting to know people while chowing down on good food. Only funny part of that day was when our waitress, who was real nice by the way, came by with the check, and this dude noticed that the gratuity was already added to the bill. So he thought he'd announce that we didn't have to tip, with the waitress standing right there. Embarrassing. Not to worry, we all pitched in and did too the waitress eventually. This is the kind of place to go to with your friends and family. It's been a few years since I've been at this locations, but now that I live a little closer, should be easier to go. read more
