I've come in and eaten at this location a few times now. Every time has been wonderful and a pleasant expirence. Serice was great, fast and friendly. Food came out in a timely fashion, hot and delicious. The new mango patron margarita is the bomb, bartenders got it going on! I've sat in the lounge, which is great cause you get free chips, but I've also sat in the dining room which is a different experience all in its own. I see all these bad reviews and can understand why people would get frustrated but when I'm here all I see is fast paced hard working people trying their hardest to please everyone. read more

We love Chili's but this location was our worse experience ever. After 5 minutes we were situated and our waitress took our order. Drink took awhile but then waiting for our food over an hour and only two broth and still waiting for the last I call and manage and let him know we were very unhappy with the service, he took 75% off our bill which was nice but we miss our appointment and I will not go to this location again in Ellenton. read more

Just came in for a quick lunch and sat at the bar. There were 18 patrons sitting at the bar and literally one waitress and one bartender. The waitress, Melissa was amazing. Never had to look for her and she was very attentive despite the amount of tables she was responsible for. Food was good and came to the table very quickly. I have called in twice for ToGo. The first time they didn't include half my order. I didn't notice until I got home, and when I called back they said that they would remake it for me and I could come get it. I went back and not only was it overlooked, but the box was melted from what seemed like a heat lamp. When I asked about it, they said it would be another 20 minutes to have it remade because my order had to go in after the rest of the orders. They did not even offer a refund. After a couple of weeks, I figured I'd try again. I called and was put on hold, which is ok, they must be busy. But after 5 minutes on hold, the young kid came back on the phone and said "YA". I jokingly said how professional it was to answer the phone that way, and he then denied saying It, and followed that up by saying "do you want to order or what?" When I asked the speak to his manager, he sarcastically said "it would be his pleasure" and then put me on hold for another 5 minutes. I got frustrated and hung up. read more

Have eaten at Chilis in Ellenton a few times and service was always shaķy at best but tonight takes the cake. 4 of us ordered and waited and waited for our food. When it arrived several selections were COLD. Corn on the cob was re-heated and we took a chance on the rest--you know the old "spitting in the food" thing. Meanwhile we observed the dirty tables around us which remained dirty for the hour we waited and then ate our dinner. Luckily the restaurant was not busy but what were the staff doing...avoiding tables piled with dirty dishes and trash. We will be moving up 301 to Joey D's. read more

This past weekend my family and I decided we wanted to head out and do something nice for dinner. After some time arguing about where to go we decided on this chili's. We arrived and already we were displeased with the service when they told us it was a 3 and a half hour wait. We decided that either way we wanted to eat here and were going to wait it out. As we were waiting we noticed the staff kept eyeing us up so my son had enough and decided to ask what was going on. They said they were concerned because one of us "was wearing nothing but a jock strap". They disrespected us but even after that we decided to stay. We eventually got into the restaurant and ordered our food. We talked and the waiter came back out with our chips and salsa and walked away. This is when I noticed a note in the salsa. It said "come to back kitchen" and was addressed to the man with the hat, who was me. I walked back to the kitchen and when I opened the door I was in shock from what I saw. Standing in front of me was nearly the entire staff completely nude. I turned around and ran out of the room trying to get back to my family. When I got back to my table the manager had a knife to my wife's throat screaming, "WE DON'T WANT YOUR KIND IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT". Finally we decided this place was not for us. Been several times at this location and we have watched this particular Chilis go right down hill, totally. So sad cause it's got great food! The place needs a overhaul with ownership and/or management!! Waitress had EVERY excuse in the world, waited for silverware AFTER OUR MEAL, SLOW refills on drinks and then they were wrong when we did get them. Asked for sour cream 3 times, we received when we were done eating. No management around to even ask for assistance. The waitress could have cared less about us as customers, obviously she also didn't care about her tip. Tables sat for more that 30 minutes dirty and not cleared off. I could continue on but I won't. I just hope something is done before this location loses all of its customers, including the VERY MANY law enforcement families that patronize this particular location. If I could give negative stars I would. My mother, father and I ate here for lunch a few weeks ago and the food/service was decent. We went again tonight for Dinner. We were sat in the cocktail area at a filthy dish covered table, which wasn't a big deal the waitress was clearly busy. We sat for about 35 min before our order was taken plus our order was taken behind a couple who came in after us. My father and I ordered steak fajitas and my mother ordered the margarita chicken salad with a nacho appetizer. The table that came in after us received their dinner before our appetizer, which our waitress forgot, ever came out. We finally asked where our nachos were an hour into our arrival and it was burned, cold and clearly forgotten once it finally arrived at our table. We waited for our dinner with empty glasses. The table that came in after us finished their fajita dinner and left before we got ours. Our food was gross. All the meat tasted like it came out of a bag and was microwaved. And we never got our rice and beans for the fijitas. I asked for a Togo box about 10 times before she remembered. It took us 30 min to get our check. And she gave us a free dessert that took another 20 to get and was clearly left under a heat lamp. Not worth the 3 hours of our life's we can't get back. The manager fiddled and gossiped with the wait staff all night and stood in the same place never asking anyone how their dinner was. Will never return. Went on opening night and a week later. Too busy in my opinion especially opening night. They had 2 servers worker each table and still had to keep flagging staff to ask for things. Took 20 minutes to get our drinks after ordering and our food took about an hour. Though everything tasted great the service ruined this trip. Even keeping in mind it was opening night. Went back a week later and the service was better. The waitress was much more attentive, food was good, portions are plenty. Had a toddler with us and at first we were told we couldn't have a high chair (by the hostesses) because we were on a center aisle. When we asked the server to please ask the manager we were allowed the high chair. Just weird. 2nd visit the food and drinks showed up much faster. One thing I don't like about Chili's is they push the table top ordering gadget. I understand if convenient but we go out to socialize and get personal service. Not order from a computer on our table. Of course on the other hand if your service sucks it's a faster tool. When paying if you user the table top gadget you can choose each item you want on each bill to split or pay the whole thing at once. Log in and earn rewards for each purchase too. Had a terrible experience. Server forgot to put our order in, so wait was very long. When we did have food hours later, the server did not ever check on us. We had to grab the hostess whenever we needed something. FOUR TIMES..FOUR TIMES...The brought dishes out that were DIRTY. You would have thought they had checked them but they did not. I pointed the terrible service out to the MGR and he said "I am looking into it now" Never saw him again.... For three adults and three kids it took 1-1/2 hours for our meal. I have been to chilis dozens of times and it's usually always good - this experience was AWFUL! Arrived at 11:15 no one in the place and we waited over an hour for our meal. Burgers were like hockey pucks and crispy chicken was soggy and undercooked. No idea what happened as we have been here tons of times. Normally I don't say anything - but this time I did and then the manager offers a dessert - really??? No profuse apology or anything. It was the poorest dining experience I have ever had in a chilis. So I have a believe that when you have a restaurant that is a chain you have to be good at what you do in order to survive. I feel that this place will survive simply because there aren't that many places to eat in this area, otherwise it would tank. I have been there twice, once with family and once without. First time, on veterans day I went by myself and I sat right away at the bar. The bar tender was friendly and a bit overwhelmed. Food was good and service was normal. The next time was a 30 minute wait which was completely acceptable. However when we set down things went crazy. We were seated and ended up having to flag someone down to get drinks ordered after being seated for 10 mins. She told us she was not our server and she would find her. 5 minutes later she came back and ordered drinks for the table behind us, there drinks came and we were still setting there with nothing. She finally walked by this time to get the food order for the table behind us and when she finished with them she stopped and asked why we didn't have any drinks yet? I explained that who ever was serving us must be on break or they went home. She got our drinks and apparently at the moment became our server. We didn't dare try to order drinks from the bar, I don't believe I would have had the patients to deal with that. The food was typical Chili's and we ate and left. What gets me is they seemed fully staffed and yet seemed as if the crowd was just too much for them to handle. My fiancee and I stopped in here to get something to eat after shopping at the outlet mall. We both wanted a turkey burger and when we noticed chili"s had them on the menu we wanted to give them a try. The waitress mentioned how great their turkey burgers were. Well it seemed to take close to 20 minutes to get our food after we placed our order. The first thing I noticed when we got them both of them had cheese on them. We did not order them with cheese. The waitress was like "well it will take a really long time to remake them". No apology from her whatsoever on her mistake. Since I really do not like to give service people a hard time I told her it was ok. What was worse the meat was so over cooked it was hard as a rock. When she came to ask me how it was I mentioned to her how hard it was. She could of cared less. Then when we get the bill we got charged extra for cheese that we did not even want in the first place. We went when they first opened months ago. Service was very slow. Thought they had not gotten the timing down yet. Went back today and service was still very slow. The wait staff was fine but getting the meals was so frustratingly slow. Then my husbands burger had only 1/2 slice if bacon on it. Had to ask for more since that is part if the highlight of this burger.(thw sauce was also missing) My chicken tacos were dripping oil. This Chili's is absolutely horrible. The wait was a acceptable for a party of 2 on a Friday evening, but would have been quicker if the tables had been cleared. When we checked in there where at least 9 tables that needed to be cleared off. Once seated our waiter took our drink orders and our food order but never returned with our drinks. After 10 minutes and watching the waiter and waitress clean off their own tables we were served ours. Watching them sticking their fingers in used glasses. Unfortunate for us our drinks were served without the server washing their hands. Yuck. My husband and I both ordered the Triple pick or what use to be the Mambo Combo. Well the chicken strips and the boneless wings were cold and the southwest egg rolls were greased soaked. Once the server was informed he took the chicken but left the egg rolls on a napkin with the promise to bring a plate for my husband to eat off of. Well that never happen. When meal was returned it was not a new one but one that had just been reheated. Chicken was now rubbery and uneatable. All the server could say is sorry. I paid $28.00 for two meals that we were not able to eat. Sorry to say I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

This is the WORST Chilis I've ever been to. Seated after a 30 min wait. Server never came. Had to ask for one. Took note order and waited another 25min for food. Food cold and when we complained a "manager" appeared with earrings all over stating he'd try to do something but at that point heat our food or bring another one in "a few minutes"! We didn't have a few more minutes as this dinner out started at 7:30pm on a school night. We left at 9:45, hungry and disappointed terribly. We paid the entire bill with no adjustment offered, only a "free dessert, if we'd like"! We hadn't had dinner for heavens sake! My grandson was gobbling cold macaroni!!! No sugar needed! My girlfriend and I were in for lunch yesterday and this is the first time I've ever been to a "chain" style restaurant where I felt like I was eating in a small family style restaurant. The service was impeccable, grabbed a table by the bar and was greeted almost immediately in the middle of lunch time. We split a table side guacamole, pretty cool they made the guac right next to our table. Tasted super fresh and chatted with our server Melissa for a few minutes. I would highly recommend this appetizer. During our entree the manager Chris came over to check on us. Chris was probably the nicest and most genuine person we have ever encountered in a restaurant. Made us feel like we were not only welcome but made us want to come back next time we're in town. If every chili's was half as good as this one, I would have a tough time going to other competing restaurants. read more
