I've visited this Chili's approx 5 times in 2 years. The first time was an awful experience as they ran out of high chairs and I was stuck with a baby in a booth. Each time after that I left the kids at home and just had a beer at the bar. The bar area is easy, clean and bartenders are on top of their game. This week we decided to hit it up for dinner with our youngest (who is thankfully out of the high chair phase now). We arrived and were seated right away. Our server came by and took our drink orders within minutes. We were concerned when we saw a large party sitting in the same area as we were. This usually means if you don't get your order in before that party you will have to wait a long time. My husband and I quickly decided on the Smokehouse Combos. I ordered mine with ribs (dry rub) and sausage...it also comes with roasted street corn and fries. My husband ordered the same but with the normal wet rub on the ribs. Our son had a cheese pizza and orange slices. Our order came out surprisingly fast...strangely fast...10 mins to prepare two half racks of ribs, corn, sausage, fries, pizza...hmmm okay I'm not going to complain about fast service! Then I took a bite of my luke warm ribs, cold (very cold) fries, and luke warm sausage. I said to my husband, is your food cold? Yes kind of luke warm he said. Now I've seen enough online and in the movies to know what can happen when you send your food back so I rarely...actually I can't remember when I've sent food back. But I wasn't about to throw my money away. We called the server over and let him know and asked him to just touch the food anything on the plate and he would see. He left with our combos and the manager came over a few minutes later to apologize. That we appreciated. Unfortunately for us this meant we were now behind the large party order. By the time our son finished his entire small pizza and oranges (a lot for a 4 year old) our food came out. This time hot. The food was good for a chili's not great just good. I liked the dry rub on the ribs (spicy but not too spicy), did not care for the sausage and for street corn I'd give theirs a 4 but it was ok. We were happy to pay our tab and leave and I have to say this will most likely be the last time I sit down for a full meal here. But if you are looking for a heck of a deal on 2 for 1 drinks, bar food like salsa and chips or just a really great couple of hours hanging out at the bar then I highly recommend the bar. Never again. OMG has this place gone down hill. I used to really like their chips and salsa but the "salsa" was just liquid "made by the new guy" that the waitress tried to fix by adding pico de gallo to it. Wilted lettuce with awful Caesar dressing, soggy hamburger buns, undercooked bacon, lukewarm pasta with rubbery chicken, overcooked chicken tenders, no refills. Nobody ever asked how the food was even when collecting the plates with 30% eaten meals. This place is absolutely bottom of the barrel. Some friends and I had a hard time agreeing on a place to go to because our dietary and budget needs were so diverse. Someone finally spoke up and said let's go to this Chili's and we all agreed. We met up on a Wednesday night and it was everything was going fine. We were seated immediately and our waiter got our drinks. But it seemed that as the night went on, it got progressively worse. We ended up being waited on from about 5 different people, (there were 6 of us so I didn't see a problem), orders that were taken correctly were not brought out correctly, and food ended up getting cold and took at least 15 minutes to correct it. That last part is referring to a side of mac and cheese which does not take that long to make or heat up. Two different managers came to our table to see what the problem was and offered no apology, no reason for the bad service, and did not check on our orders. And to top it all off, my friend who ordered the mac and cheese got charged for the second one. Are you kidding me? I would give this place 1 star but the food was good when it came out. Disappointed with this location. I was hopeful since it's so close to my house but I don't think I'll ever come back. The chips looked like crumbs and I wondered if it was because they were a free reward from signing up to their rewards program. This Chili's is honestly the worse one that I have ever been to. Just now, I picked up a chips and salsa order. When I pulled in, the employees took off when they saw me park in the "to go" spot as if I didn't see them. THEN, after standing around for 10 minutes and waiting for someone to help me, the girl tapping to people in the kitchen finally rang me up and didn't even check the order sitting on the counter. Then I waited another 5-10 minutes for someone to look at the order and discover that it was mine. Then mysteriously everyone was back in the area standing around. My last three experiences weren't great either. Not a single one of those visits provided I with a server that came by our table frequently to make sure that we didn't need anything. One of those times took 35 minutes to even get a server. Then our food took an hour and wasn't even warm anymore because they let it sit. The server made a big deal out of us wanting to get the quality that we are paying for. I'm sorry if it's a burden that we don't want soggy, cold food. Then it took another 25 minutes to get the new food, which we were patient with. The food came out much more fresh as expected. But the server again took forever to come back to collect cash for the payment. That visit was over 2 hours. The other times that I was here, the food came out barely cooked and our server obviously didn't come to work. If you can, make the trip to the San Jose store and avoid this one. They never fail to provide crap service. read more

My husband and I my father and I had just left a restaurant across the street from Chili's because of an awful experience, so needless to say, our hopes were rather high. We hadn't been to Chili's in quite some time, but generally, their food and service are pretty consistent. We were seated by the hostess and then greeted right away by our server. He was very friendly and engaging. He took our drink orders and then returned to take our food orders. Our drinks were brought to the table, then our appetizers. We all ordered from the "Three for Me" menu. My husband ordered the nachos, and they were PAPER THIN, which made it impossible to scoop either the queso or the salsa onto them. The salads were good -- they were fresh and tasty. My father ordered the sirloin steak with broccoli and a loaded baked potato. The baked potato turned out to be loaded mashed potatoes (?). I ordered the chicken bacon ranch quesadillas. When the young man brought the plate to the table, he handed it to me, and I almost dropped it because it was SO HOT! I had to dunk my hand in a glass of water! The quesadillas themselves were burned and tasteless. My husband ordered the Cajun Chicken Pasta. It was lacking spice and texture. Also, I have to mention that, after our server took our food and drink orders, he became very scarce. We would have to "flag him down" if we needed drink refills or plates removed from the table or to-go boxes. He never actually brought or took away anything from our table. And that was reflected in his tip... Needless to say, our hopes for a decent meal were dashed and we more than likely will not return. read more

A side of French fries is a mountain but a side of cole slaw is a sauce cup for the same price. Not keto friendly, you are limited to salad without tortilla strips (ALL OF THE SALADS HAVE TORTILLA STRIPS, WHY!?) and burgers without buns. Is it too much to ask to have 2 cups of veggies as a side? You need 7-10 total cups to get your daily recommended potassium so I am undershooting this if I only eat 3 meals. It's like you punish me for choosing healthy options. I got the boss burger which is their biggest burger and a side of cole slaw. I went home and ate more because I was still hungry. Went here tonight and could not believe how bad this place has become. Mediocre food and horrible drinks. Got a bowl of chili which was way too salty. Then had a Presidente Margarita, which was one of the worst margaritas I have ever had anywhere. How can Chili's bar staff not know how to make a Presidente Margarita as its one of their signature drinks. So the barmaid comped me a margarita, but still tasted horrible although I could finally taste the tequila. Had the main course Cajun pasta which arrived cold and had to send it back to be reheated. When it arrived it was ok. So I complained to the barmaid about my experience and she said she would get the manager and headed to the kitchen. She returned with no manager, so I guess the manager does not give a damn about customer complaints. The barmaid did reduce my bill, but very disappointing experience as when I used to go to this place back in the day, it used to be good. Chili's is our usual "go to" place, two for one drinks mostly but the food is usually very consistent, service is fast and the menu changes often. We eat a variety of menu items and enjoy trying new things. The Chili's at this Bartram location is always very crowded in the evenings, parking lot full and if you're lucky you can find a few seats together at the bar. This place is very family oriented and the waitstaff is attentive however we've noted a decline in consistency with the food. It's unfortunate and disappointing when splurging on cheat meals, you want it to be perfect or at least as good as the last time. It's now a hit or miss. read more

The hostess greeted us and seated us quickly to a table. 10 minutes later our server stopped our table. We ordered drinks, entrees (Burger and fish tacos) and chips and salsa to start. I asked for fries and no salt. 5 minutes later someone else brought our drinks to the table. I asked about the chips & salsa. The server said they would tell our regular server. 15 minutes goes by and the kitchen staff deliver our meals. At this point it's too late for the chips & salsa. Our regular server comes by and I asked where the chips & salsa was? A light bulb went off and she apologized. I mentioned their was salt on the fries. The server said they will just take the fries and dump them in the fryer again to remove the salt, so they will be greasy. I said tell them to put down new fries. 5 minutes later my hot fries were delivered. This is the worst Chili's location in Jacksonville. Average - good food with servers that go through a revolving door. You never see the same ones the next time you come in. NOT Recommended. read more

Chills is slowly losing me over as a customer. With my last experience I'm not sure how long it'll be before I go back. I used to eat here at least once a week, now i don't even keep track because it's that rarely. But my last experience was horrible. I order 2 for $20 meal. I requested for a plain hamburger mustard and ketchup only and Cajun chicken pasta add shrimp. Now the last few times I called that in the to go girl told me we can't do that for the burger because it comes with cheese and bacon. Of course I get irritated how can't you ring that up its a PLAIN hamburger. Then when I almost cancel she gets it right. Then for my pasta she goes oh chicken and shrimp isn't on the menu, I said the chicken is and you can add shrimp. She states it'll be extra. I know! We wait 20 minutes pick up the food the burger is full of cheese! We turn around and to girl comes out and say oh it was supposed to have no cheese? . She run the burger in and come back out and say it'll be another 10-15 minutes for the burger WHAT BURGER TAKES THAT LONG?! needless to say I'm quite over chilis. Came here last night with work colleagues and again it's a solid choice for a neighborhood restaurant. Service was fantastic though as we were a party of nine, and everyone got what they needed and when they needed it. Food was solid overall too, but my only complain was the utter lack of flavor my steak had, and it was overcooked too. Not shoe leather overcooked, but certainly over the medium rare I had ordered. My only significant suggestion is those damned kiosks on the tables. GET RID OF THEM! They are in the way all the time. Simply put, the tables aren't big enough for accommodate them, so I am always having to fight for space with these digital monstrosities. Also, paying the bill is a hassle when you are sitting with a group and you want to split a check. I was lucky enough after playing with the system for a minute to pick out mine and my wife's items and pay. As expected from any Chili's, this place was clean and the staff friendly and prompt. The main reason we went was to take advantage of their $20 dinner for two. We ordered the crispy onion & jalapeno stack for starter. I wish they had more healthy choices to offer besides fried stuff. For entree we got the half-rack baby back ribs and quesadilla explosion salad. Ribs were pretty good... the portions were a decent size. We went on a Friday night to take out the grandparents. We had a 45 minute wait so my mom and I decided to go get a drink at the bar. My grandparents sat in on of the booths in the front and my dad stayed with them. We finally get a table, a lot sooner than 45 minutes. My grandfather sat there miserably because it was "too loud" then wants to order fish but he didn't want the salmon, but goes ahead and orders it anyway with extra fries for his side. My grandmother complains about the sirloin saying it's always too dry when last time she came she made a meatloaf that was horrible. My dad was so disgusted by it you can't even bring up the meatloaf bc it makes him gag. She gets the chicken tenders...wondering if they will be "too spicy" for her, but nowadays everything is too spicy. My mom and I got the two for twenty deal. She ordered the fajitas and I ordered the half rack of ribs. Everything was good, our waiter was very attentive also. It was a plus that he's Cuban American and knew spanish so my grandparents could talk to him. My grandfather's food came and he didn't want the salmon and switched his plate with my dad. It was annoying, because my dad is on a strict diet for health reasons and the extra load of fries didn't help, however my dad being the nice guy that he is just switched with him with no complaint. My grandmother continues to complain about the salsa being too hot for the chips 'n salsa.....it's not hot at all. Overall, the service and food were great. I'm happy I got to spend time with my parents....unfortunately my grandparents have forever and always will be intolerable, but thanks to my Chili's margarita it made them tolerable. read more

Headed to Chili's tonight because our normal go to spot had a 30-45 minute wait. We were seated quickly and ordered some queso. We were delivered chips and salsa instead but we were fine with that. After the table finished the chips, the queso finally showed up.... cold. So we asked to have it removed from the bill. We should have stayed at our original spot because despite being seated right away, it took an hour and 10 minutes for our food to arrive. Thankfully, the kids food was ok, even though the sides were mixed up, but my pasta and my fiancés sirloin were cold to the touch. Not sort of warm, or room temperature, but actually cold. The waiter took my pasta back to be "remade" and my fiancé kept hers because she was so hungry at this point she didn't care. My pasta came back out about 5 minutes later, clearly nuked in the microwave. We ate about half of our food and were ready for the check. Fortunately, they comped two of our meals for the trouble but the queso was still on the bill, so we had to ask for that to be removed. An hour and 40 minutes later, we were finally on our way. With all of those issues, the manager on duty never once stopped by our table to apologize. The manager left a poor guy from another store out of state to deal with the unhappy customers (we heard several other tables having similar issues). We've used DoorDash from this Chili's a couple of times without incident so we were very disappointed in the visit and won't be back. read more

Pleasantly surprised with this Chili's location. It's rather large and seems to have the new Chili's concept going for it. This means updated décor compared to various other restaurants in this chain and the new iPad ordering system. This location seemed to still be working out the kinks when we visited. Our waiter was pretty attentive for our rather large group on a Friday night. He was quick to get our drinks and orders. The food was typical Chili's fare and wasn't something to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. This was a normal Chili's experience for anyone who has been to one, but kicked up a notch with their new style and concept. It helps that it is conveniently located right off I-95 as well. read more

UNFAIR ADVANTAGE!! Here I am again at Chili's Bar & Grill writing a review! Besides the fact that Chili's is one of my favorite restaurants, they have not been disappointing at any restaurants since I've been writing reviews. So let me give you what you came for...! PROS: -Service. I've been impressed and I have to give a shout out to Drew (check the pics out) who knew how to come around not too much and not too little. He knew how to keep out drinks full and napkins plentiful. -Food. This is where Chili's has an unfair advantage. The food is so American, so delicious, so cost-efficient, that you can't help but to like it. From the front of the menus to the back, you can't go wrong with an entree unless you are allergic to it. Anyways, before I start naming my favorite dishes, just know that the food is scrumptious...yes....scrumptious. -Atmosphere. When you have a restaurant near an up-and-coming area for shopping, it shows that the company has good business analysts. Great placement of a restaurant. They haven't taken full control of their presence, but they are on their way. The lighting, music, space between tables, bar space, and floor cleanliness all contributed to a pleasant experience. CONS: -Parking. If you come during a big event you will want to car pool. There is parking for across the street, but who wants to walk that much these days? Normal days it seems like you can't fill the lot, but let me tell you it's like borderline just not enough. -I don't know...the bathroom was clean and I don't have anything else I could really use as a con. Overall, this was a great time at Chili's and I don't have any complaints. Tell me what you think. They should keep up the great work and make me their official Chili's guy. J/k.
