We come here because it's so close to home. I have always had great service at the bar. EVERY time never fails, it's great. This time not so much. We decided to sit in a bar booth. We were greeted in a timely manner...ordered drinks...refills on our alcoholic beverages took FOREVER. I get it, I was a restaurant manager and it's Friday night, it's expected to be a little slower. I'm not picky about that. The one-star rating comes from the 45 MINUTE TICKET TIME for our food. We literally sat there forever. Not once did the server check on us or give us an explanation as to why it was taking so long. My boyfriend had to ask the hostess to speak to a manager, as I was explaining the situation before I could even finish the manager just walked away. I was sitting there with my jaw dropped not believing he just walked away. (All I said was would you mind checking on our food, it's been about 45 minutes since we have ordered.) This ticked my boyfriend off and they brought the food moments later. Finally fed up, we just asked to have it boxed up. Yes, they took care of our food...but, you guys need to slow down and listen to your guests when there's an issue such as a 45 minute ticket time. That's just unacceptable. Decided to eat lunch at Chili's yesterday and after my visit I just needed to post a review. When we arrived we were promptly seated. The staff are wearing mask as well as customers upon entering. We ordered our chicken crispers, Presidente margaritas, hamburgers etc as usual. Our waitress was very sweet, attentive and no problems. When our food arrived we noticed that my husbands corn was a little over cooked, making for chewy corn, and I needed a refill. We looked for our waitress but couldn't find her. Now mind you at 2pm the restaurant wasn't very busy and we thought it unusual we couldn't find her as she had been so attentive. We can wait, not a big deal but like I said she was just nowhere in sight. Thinking maybe they cut hours, maybe she was helping in the kitchen we were just about to flag another person down when we saw our waitress rolling an elderly lady from the bathroom. My husband and I just looked at each other as we realized there was an elderly couple across from us. Our waitress had helped the elderly lady go to the bathroom. The husband tried to tip her, as it surely would've been a difficult task for him, but she refused. Once she made sure the couple was good she came over to us. As our hearts were beating and our eyes swelled with tears, suddenly a burnt corn and empty drink seemed so trivial. We thanked our waitress for being such a kind person. I just think it's so important to recognize the good we see. As Coronavirus dominates our lives and we live in a divided country it was so nice to see good. A selfless good. I hope Chili's recognizes the asset they have with Lexi part of their team. This person has great customer skills and she is exactly the type person that Chili's wants reflecting their values. I hope she knows she was a great role model as our children witnessed what she did. Thank you Lexi for being so amazing and we will be asking to sit in her section every time. read more

The Monday night crew is not the A-Team. While the food was spot on, the waitress made many small mistakes which culminated into a mid-service disappearance. Another waitress stepped in, tried to top off my Dr. pepper with water, then took my drink to the back for a refill. The drink was never seen again. I visited the Chilis located at 2845 Gulf Fwy S League City, TX 77573 at 4:06 p.m on 8/5/2016. I was seated promptly by the hostess at 4:07 p.m. I was not acknowledged by any of the wait staff until 4:20 pm. That is only due to my friend going get someone to take our drink orders. There were 10 customers seated in the bar area which is where I was seated. The waitress talked the table next to me for 10 minutes about different vacations that she had taken. Once, again she never acknowledged me. Once, my friend and I drinks arrived they were absolutely horrible. So, I head to the bar to purchase a shot of grand marnier with my credit card only. Now, the bartender informs me that he will not serve me until he sees my ID. Considering that he had just made my drink why would you need my ID. I was already ID when I ordered my drink. I was not walking back to my table to get my ID when he just served me a drink. By that time I was livid. I spoke with a manager and she was absolutely rude. She had every excuse in the books for the lack of service. She snatched the drinks off the table and told us to leave. I was extremely taken back because how could she possible be upset with us when we were the ones treated poorly. That was my first and last time visiting that Chilis location. All of the negative reviews on yelp regarding that Chilis locations wait staff and management are very true. I wish I would had checked the reviews before going there. read more

I normally love chilis... but this evening I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! ! There were 4 customers in the entire restaurant at about 5 pm and we had to wait ten min. For a host to greet and seat us. We about walked out because 4 employees past us waiting and still no one seated us. Everyone's food was good besides my chicken fried steak meal... it was so salty it literally took my breath away! I went here last night despite the weather and the service was absolutely HORRIBLE! I initially entered the to-go end and the young lady sitting in the chair had her back turn to me and never greeted me to take my order and acted as if I wasn't there. She then left and went to the back and I was just left out there. I then went to the bar to get assistant and he was like "oh she's probably in the back" I was like okay. So I then sat at the bar and ate in since the weather was so bad. The waiter started off being nice but when I ordered he brought my food to go when I clearly told him I was eating in. He then snatched my food and took it to the back and before I could tell him it was okay he took off! He brought me back my food COLD! The Chilli was COLD; the Chicken Pasta was COLD! I did not ask for it to be replaced because I did not want my food mishandled! The waiter KEPT overlooking me and other customers for his FOUR FRIENDS that was there! His service SUCKED and was NOT a good waiter at all! I love Chili's but this location was THE WORST location I've ever been too and just plain HORRIBLE! Came here for an annual party of sorts, during a Saturday evening. We had three tables put together by the wait staff within seconds. We ordered chips, salsa, fried cheese and the like for the table. Service was fast and efficient. Waiter was extremely accommodating without being obsequious. Got around to everyone ordering drinks, and for a generic venue, they made a pretty good, non watered down high-ball or two. Other friends seemed pleased. Been to a few Chili's and didn't see anything special, but this place was run pretty efficiently. I don't work around here but I assume they get a lot of business at lunch from the area businesses. The worst take-out service ever. I was told my order would take 15 minutes. Well 45 minutes later I finally received my order and it wasn't even hot. I saw people come in after me and order their take-out and they received their food before me. Unless you're friends with the take-out staff--mainly Kelsea-- then don't count on prompt service. A guy who came in after me was chopping it up with Kelsea and she said on at least two occasions, "I'll have your order right out Mr. (blank)." And that she did. He had his order in 10-15 minutes. If I'm going to wait 45 minutes for a take-out order you promised would be ready in 15 minutes, then I at least expect the food to be hot. What a disappointment!!! read more

We go to this Chilis all the time because they have good food at fair prices. We always sit at the bar to watch sports on the TV. The bartender Drew is amazing. Very friendly, takes your order quickly, makes suggestions, refills quickly, he's "Johnny-on-the-spot". This is why we go back! It's like the "Cheers" saying -a friendly local spot where they know your name. (At least Drew does) There is one waitress (in the bar area usually) that is very unfriendly, clearly doesn't want to be there, and makes you feel like you are a bother and an annoyance. But again, she is a minor fault in an otherwise great establishment. read more

I'd give this place 0 stars if it were an option. It's a Wednesday night and the place was not packed at all. Still, our waiter took 15 minutes to get to us. He finally comes and takes our drink order, and our appetizer gets out to us before he even gets to take our actual food order. We both ordered the rib eye, and let me tell you, they probably microwaved our food because it tasted like plastic! He didn't even get my order correct. I tell our waiter that my food is cold, and they proceed to take about another 30 minutes to get my food out to me. He brings out the wrong order again. At this point I'm fed up and ask to pay for the food that did come out and was forcefully eaten. The waiter and manager then try to argue with me that my order was not wrong and that I should just pay for the food anyways. Worst service ever! The drinks were weak, the waiter didn't mention happy hour or any deals happening for VERY similar items we asked for (like boneless vs. Bone-in with GSM with a 40% price difference) Not once did he ask how my bland food was or come to the table to ask if everything was in order after he delivered my bland food. He earned his $1.81 tip and I'll drive 8 minutes further to another branch next time I feel like like an El Presidente margarita. I have eaten at this location many times and it seems to be headed for a crash landing. The hostess had a difficult time reading a diagram of the restaurant on her IPad which caused us to take a lap all the way around the dining room only to pass several empty tables and end up back in a booth near the front door. My Wife ordered a cheeseburger plain and dry cooked medium, it was delivered to the table dry with all of the vegetables and overcooked. I ordered beef nachos and for the first time ever on a Yelp review I have to say it was absolutely disgusting. The beef tasted like a cross between the microwaveable fajita meat available at the grocery store and what I imagine wet dog food would taste like. I picked off the "beef" and the cheese and guacamole were good. The "Ziosk" payment center robs any chance of the Chili's experience being personal. The entire experience felt compartmentalized as more attention was paid to serving size than customer satisfaction. I gave the review two stars because I survived the "beef" and woke up this morning healthy. I'm shocked. read more

We wanted to try the limited edition peanut butter molten cake so we visited this location. It took a bit longer that we would have anticipated for service. The waitress did not come over to the table for at least five minutes after we were seated which was odd because the place did not have a crowd. When the waitress arrived she was really dry and not friendly. We ordered a sandwhich and a pizza. The bread from the sandwhich looked and felt as if it were at least a two weeks old and the meat was dry and bland. The pizza was undercooked and the ingredients looked as if they were running away from the pizza. I did not bother to complain as I was looking forward to tasting the peanut butter molten cake only I was further disappointed when the waitress told me that they no longer had it (although they still had it on the special menu as if it were available to order). Needless to say I was very disappointed with the entire experience, did not bother to leave a tip and will not return to this location. read more

We are from out of town and decided that we couldn't go wrong with chilis because we always eat there and we love it. The hostess sat us down and it took about eight minutes for the waiter to come over and take our drink order. We saw that they had specials so we asked the waiter what was the wine choices for the special. He named off a bunch of different wines and I picked one. It took about 10 minutes after our drink order was placed to finally receive our drinks. It took over 30 minutes of sitting there for our appetizer and entree order to be taken. We finally got our food and everything was great and then we decided to look at our bill on the little tablets on the table. My drink order which was wine rang up for over $6 when the special was for $4, we asked the waiter about it and he said oh that one wasn't a part of that deal but we specifically asked him which wines were included for the $4 special. We saw our waiter only three times during our entire hour ordeal. Our family loves chilis but we would never ever ever recommend this chilis to anybody we know!!! Horrible service & food is less than mediocre! In celebration of a coworkers birthday we decided to go support our local Chili's. It took 14 minutes to get water; when our server arrived we told him we had limited time. We placed our orders and waited...never received refills on our water. We continued to wait & realized we were out of time, therefore had to get our orders to go. Asked to speak with Manager, David and his response was "What can I do?". Comp our meals, offer a discount, provide dessert (at least to the birthday girl). Needless to say, arrived at work with food in bags, my salad had so much dressing and lettuce was so limp I could've sipped it through a straw. DISGUSTING. Last night will be the last time I eat at any chilis restaurant! Sick again with aching cramping stomach. I ate Steak, asparagus, quinoa wheat berry sides AN fresh avocado. I was there 4 weeks ago with my husband had the Tilapia which I sent back it was Rancid AN very fishy old . I called management and they did not even document how sick I was or the incident. I did not even swallow the fish I had sent it back and ordered something different about 4 weeks ago. When I was there last night they had no record of what happened. I'm very disappointed in this restaurant and the poor food quality. I hear from another nurse that I work with that their food is all sent to them frozen and nothing hardly anything fresh.
