Recently came here with a friend for lunch. We ordered off the "$20 For Two" menu. For two people, it's almost silly not to order from this menu, which had decent choices. You get a choice of appetizer and two full-size entrees. We started with the chips and salsa. Our friendly server also brought us the fire-grilled corn guacamole since it was also an option off the menu. The chips here were addicting because they were so light and crispy. For lunch, I had the Bacon Ranch Chicken Quesadillas. The portions were pretty big; 2 quesadillas. It was pretty good, but I wished that the tortillas were soft. Mmmmmm, burger - original quick tip. I'm going to upgrade my rating to a full three stars. I do like their burgers, they are juicy, tasty, and you have a variety of ways to have them prepared. The service is attentive and there is a modest variety of choices though it is no more than what's offered in other bar and grills. It doesn't get 4-stars because the prices have crept up. They may be more expensive than Fudd's and not as gourmet. Their fries are standard-fare and unlike Fudd's, you can't get the cheese sauce. A Large Coors Light is only $3.99 during happy hour and those glasses are more than 16 oz. probably 22 oz? Have a good assortment of beers on tap, so you can go import or IPAs. Haven't had a problem yet with orders being incorrect or slow service. YET. Happy hour appetizers are substantially great prices and are meals in themselves, sliders/fried, fries/jalapeno/chili, pretzel sticks, chicken nachos, bonless or bone in chicken wings, all only either $2.99 or $4.99. Chips and salsa, Two for $22 and Trivia or Life on the tablet at the table. Never fails to satisfy me. It's so simple. My wife is pregnant so she can't drink, but when she wasn't we loved experimenting with all the different fun mixed drinks Chili's has. She loved the watermelon cooler. I like the presidente margaritas. When our kid finally comes we are totally looking forward to this being our family night out restaurant. When delivering it to the table as the server reached to put dish on table, the little bowl of ranch fell off the plate onto my lap. Got an insincere "sorry" with a pile of napkins. Had to ask for a wet bar rag to try to get dressing of my clothes and had to tell the server to wipe up the dressing off the floor so I didn't step in it. Chili's has very bad customer service when someone orders to-go. I've ordered there twice (for to-go) and the first time they've forgot two of my order. The second time they messed up my order. They are never are ready on time, and when you enter the to-go entrance they don't even acknowledge your presence. They see you enter but completely ignore you. We came to Chili's today for lunch to celebrate my boyfriend's dad's birthday. We were seated quickly. It looks like they've redone the menus. Our server greeted us quickly and took our drink order. He suggested margaritas. Umm buddy, it's one'o'clock, no. He seemed pretty disappointed when we ordered one iced tea and three waters. He came back with our drinks barely two minutes later and asked if we were ready to order, even though we were all clearly still looking at the menus. He came back again five or so minutes later and we were ready to order. My boyfriend ordered first and got a burger. The server asked if he wanted to add avocado for 75 cents. He said no. I also ordered a burger, and he also asked me if I wanted avocado for 75 cents. I said no. Our food came quickly. The food was actually really good. The server came back only ten minutes after we got our food with the check and said "no rush but I'll just leave this here for you". All in all, good food, but our server was really pushy-from suggesting margaritas at 1'o'clock to asking to add avocado, to bringing the check within ten minutes. read more

My mom and I have come here several times and not had the most attentive service. Tonight I attempted placing my order to go and picking it up. While the food was very good, this review is mostly for the service. I believe I've discovered why I've previously gotten mediocre at best service at this location. When I walked in to pick up, there was another woman standing at the counter waiting as well. The door to the kitchen was open and I could see at least 7 employees leaning against counters and chatting away. I made eye contact with several of them and none bothered to come to the counter. It wasn't until a server working diligently to serve the bar area went to the back to grab a to-go container and asked if there was someone who could assist with the register that one of them managed to tear herself away long enough to take care of us. While I understand not all employees may be trained for all areas, I am appalled that the management is so lax at this location that this kind of "service" is allowed. read more

This was an unusual late dinner after work. Even more unusual that we chose Chili's since we've never been big fans but it was here or Denny's. I think we made the wrong choice. We sat in the bar. The atmosphere is kinda cool though the TV's were quite loud. Our server Brayan was attentive and polite. Now for the critique- My Caribbean salad had only 3 pieces of pineapple and those had bits of peel and hadn't been cored (uneatable), the cranberries and raisins were dried out(old), the lettuce wasn't even real cold. On the plus side there was plenty of shrimp. But be forewarned- the "Honey-Lime" dressing doesn't taste like either but it does taste like mustard, -the Balsamic dressing tastes like someone mixed Honey-Lime with a shot of vinegar, yuk. I love big, bold flavors but chewing on warm mustard seeds doesn't qualify. $11.89 and I ate 1/3 of it. Hubby's Prime Rib Tacos were equally disappointing. The meat was less like prime rib and more like pot roast slathered in some kind of fake "grilling sauce", VERY little avocado, black beans were room temp and didn't get eaten. Then, on my way to the bathroom I walked all the way through the mostly empty restaurant and saw food scraps under every table. One gal was sweeping (kinda) and the others were....? Needless to say I won't be back. At least at Denny's I know what to expect --like kitchen help that doesn't know how to properly cut up a pineapple but at least they know which foods are supposed to be hot and which are supposed to be cold. By reading all these reviews it's really surprising they are still around. The management reads these and must not really care that they are on the same path as Applebee's as nothing is changing. Be very careful. My boyfriend and I are regulars at this chili's and I have been a regular since I was a kid before they remodeled the whole restaurant. We decided to stop in on Friday July 12th at around 8:30-9pm to grab a dinner since my boyfriend got off work late. He always orders the steak fajitas but decided to mix it up and got a mix of the steak and chicken fajitas and I decided to get the Just Bacon Burger. The total for the bill being $60.26 after drinks and what not. Boyfriend starts eating and makes a comment that the chicken and steak tasted a little funny (tough, overcooked) and I tried a piece and I had to agree something was not right. On top of that, they sent out his beans he gets with the fajitas in the paper cup they use for to go orders. That just shows the lack of care for our food that night. We didn't think too much of this because he had always ordered the steak and it can be hit or miss. About an hour or so after being home, my boyfriend started to experience diarrhea and nausea. I myself started to feel sick as well but we passed it off as a light stomach ache from the food but it didn't end that night. Two days later and we are still feeling sick and haven't been able to do anything the whole weekend because we need to be near a toilet. And even trying to eat other food was a whole new ballgame. Nothing would stay down. I contacted a chili's manager today (July 14th) to let them know what is going on and all I got was a sorry and I will see if their were any other calls. I am not looking for my money back or a free handout but I sure wasn't looking for someone to just say sorry either. The only good thing about our experience and the reason that this post is getting a 2 star and not a 1 star was the waiter that we had (can't remember his name) always takes care of us and even helped us make our bill cheaper by doing the 3 for $10. Chilis in general has always just been "okay", and the Livermore location is no exception. But after my latest to go order I won't be back. First of all it wasn't ready or even started to be put together at the time it was supposed to be; I even arrived slightly late and the staff seemed to have no idea what I was there for. They weren't friendly at all btw, making me feel like I was in the way just for picking up something I paid (and tipped) for. I finally got my order and got home and the first issue there was that all of the food was cold. Mind you I live nearby so that wasn't the problem and I've had hot food from them before. It seemed like it had been just sitting out which makes me wonder how my order wasn't ready. They forgot part of my order that I also paid for. But the biggest issue was that AS I was eating my salad I found a 5 or 6 inch long black curly hair that unfortunately I found because it was in my mouth already. So disgusting. I work in food service and this would be unacceptable at my place. Overall though the biggest issue is that when I called my call for a manager was left on hold. I emailed corporate and two days later I haven't heard a thing. I paid nearly $50 for in inedible meal and didn't have time to drive back. The least they could have done was to acknowledge my issues but they didn't even do that. There are so many other options in this area, I won't be coming back here. read more

My friend and I go into the lounge area on Sunday mornings right at 10am to watch the Minnesota Viking games because either of us have Direct TV the NFL station, so we are at the mercy of the local lounges in our area. This Sunday this girl (not woman) was there and I politely asked if she could change the TV to the Vikings game, she looked at me with the nastiest look, said NOTHING, and kept on with a drink order. I thought to myself ok she is in the middle of making a drink, totally get it, then we waited for her to make the next drink and then the next, all the while she made eye contact with me knowing that we wanted help and maybe something to drink whether it be coffee, soda, what have you... there was only literally 3 other people there all seated at the bar area, we were at a table near the actual bar. After being ignored my friend said, "HOW RUDE!!! LET'S GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, WHAT A BITCH!", yeah we said it because she WAS and still IS. I will never give these jerks my money for damn coke, coffee, app, or whatever. This "girl" is bartending and she was maybe all of 21 as she at least had to be that to be legal. But this young thing thinks she is that hot of a piece of sh*t to think she can't treat people like that, like she really made her mark in this world being a crappy bartender. Big whoop, you serve drinks but you are not allowed to treat people and potential customers like a piece of sh*t under your shoe! Bad experience at this restaurant. we frequently grab a late meal at bars and grills in the area. My wife and I arrived at the Livermore Chili's bar area at 8:30pm. The Bar was mostly empty. Several tables were not bused from previous customers. One of these tables was our favorite spot in the Bar. We waited for help so we could sit. The Bartender/Waitress wanted us to sit at one of the open tables, snarled at us, and dashed back behind the Bar to help customers. We, in turn, dashed to another restaurant. I used to come to this Chilis every now and then. The food was alright and the service was always good. Up until my last visit I had went with my boyfriend for dinner and that was the last time I ever came back to any Chilis ever. I had ordered the Chicken Crispers plate. The corn was over seasoned, it was SUPER salty. The chicken was a little soggy but I figured it was just the tempura batter they fry it in. I realized there was also something in my water so I had told our waiter. She was super apologetic and her service was superb, so I figured it wasn't really a big deal to complain about the food cus I was whatever about it all. And my boyfriend decided to order a side because he felt bad about my food turning out the way it did. So he ordered some of the Mac and Cheese with the jalapeños in it. And of course I wasn't fond of it either. Everything in it was just overpowering and I was pretty over it at that point. Later on, I had woke up in the middle of the night with food poisoning. It was the worst thing ever and I was deciding whether I should call them the next day to let them know but how do you handle those situations? I can't really prove their food was exactly what gave me poisoning but I'm pretty sure that's what it was. It took me about 2 days to recover from it and ever since I stayed far away from Chilis. The only reason I give it 2 instead of 1 is that the baby-back ribs were good, & the hostesses are good. But the waitress was overwhelmed with a large table and several more of us. So she was too busy to really pay attention, and only showed up with a smile and the bill at the end. Once we got our drinks we had to flag down a hostess to get the next order, although we had put the empties on the edge of the table for 5 minutes. That is probably a scheduling problem not hers. "Lurch" from the kitchen or bar was a whole other story. He had the personality of a troll. Lousy, no smile, attitude. and when he brought the wrong cup of chili (he brought enchilada) and had to return with the right one he just set it on the edge of the table and stormed off without even asking who it was for. Then we made the fateful error of asking for the setup (Napkins and silverware). He grabbed a handful and with the same cheery disposition just dumped them on the edge of the table. The chili was not nearly as good as it used to be. Fancier presentation, but over cooked and charred. And the burger was alright. The hostesses tried to help, as I guess they saw how "smiley Lurch" was doing. But they were busy. We had eaten here for a number of years, but left about 5 years ago because of abrupt, rude service.
