We are greatly disappointed with our experience trying this new restaurant. I can't for the life of me understand how the previous ratings are so high. The food quality was really poor, portion size of protein was paper thin and unseasoned, and the guacamole was dark brown and tasted really old. It's no surprise none of us feel well today. This has to be the new worst mexican food in Livermore.

I recommend making a reservation just in case since seating is limited. Some of our favorite bites were the anchovy toast and the seafood chowder. The total bill was over $100 and neither of us were particularly that full, just satiated enough. I don't recommend coming here for a full dinner if you're hungry or have a large party. You can definitely get full, but it will cost you! It's a nice appetizer/happy hour spot as a precursor though. Overall it was a nice experience and we'd stop by again to explore any new menu additions!

You can choose between bar seating or a table--we went with a table. The space is cute, modern, and has a great vibe. One thing I really appreciated is that all the sashimi dishes came pre-seasoned with thoughtful sauces and toppings. We didn't even need soy sauce or ginger--everything was already balanced and flavorful. Oysters (3.5/5) Solid. Fresh and clean, and great value for a dozen. We added "the works" for $3, which came with extra sauces--definitely worth it and added a nice variety of flavors. Uni Toast (4/5) Really good. Served on a crispy ube toast with great presentation. Definitely on the pricier side, but expected for good uni. Worth trying if you're into uni. Tuna Crudo (4.5/5) Really enjoyed this. Flavor was good, but the crispy bread was a highlight for me. Some might think it's too crispy, but I loved the texture. The wagyu juices tied everything together nicely. DIY Handrolls (4/5) Fun concept--comes with mini sheets of seaweed, rice, and hamachi so you can build your own. The fish tasted fresh and high-quality. The only downside is I wish they gave more seaweed. Cured Chirashi Don (4.5/5) The sushi rice was honestly one of the most flavorful I've had--very pronounced vinegar taste (in a good way). The fish was fresh and of high quality. Definitely a standout. Overall, this place leans on the pricier side since it's small plates/tapas style--we ended up ordering around 7-8 dishes to feel full. That said, the flavors are unique and I liked how some of the fish was lightly seared, adding a nice aroma and texture. Service was solid--our server checked in regularly. They also brought out cookies and milk for my birthday, which was a nice touch (not free--$8--but still worth it). Would come back to try more dishes

As our organizer mentioned, they were fully booked that night so do reserve early. Warm earthy tones in the decor made for a comfortable, inviting atmosphere and the light jazz ensemble and lovely vocal performances elevated the evening's experience. The ambiance is a strong point. Being a paella newbie, I definitely looked forward to tasting a version especially after watching cooking shows over the years. The saffron broth rice nicely counterbalanced the seasoned shrimp, sausage and other ingredients. Thumbs up. I had several portions. The tempura cauliflower - good. KR Enchiladas were cheesey and rich, plumply filled, and the accompanied rice accented with corn. Since we shared the three enchiladas, my small piece was enough for me. Suggest passing on the sourdough side that came with the paella. The bread had melted, but cooled cheese on it and there was not much free broth in the paella to soak therewith anyway. With water being the group's primary beverage, perhaps request a carafe of water at the table to ease the thirstier folks (me). Our wait person gave helpful suggestions and efficient service. The rest of the staff had hustle. As normal with live music, be prepared to raise your voice and repeat yourself in conversations. Parking is ample, with a short walk, in this Nob Hill Foods shopping center.

I've never had tiger prawns in any buffet but this place sure had it. The way it was done and cooked was so mouth watering. I can totally appreciate the freshness and how the quality of food tasted. Although the lobster was $6 more it was worth it for dinner. They had cooked it better than I will cook a lobster The place was beautiful inside and outside. It was super clean and very well kept, stations were always clean and organized. I think this is by far try e most cleanest upscale buffets I've ever been to. Their service was impeccable! Superb if you will. Staff was all genuine nice and very friendly... I can feel the sincerity from all of them. Everyone who worked there look extremely happy and that's how you know management keeps their team in the form they are. The energy of the staff were all so inviting that it felt welcoming. Overall I love this buffet, it tops the best buffet place I've ever been to. Like I'd choose this over Tomi which is located in San Jose eastridge mall and the Milpitas Buffet... The staffs are what wants me to continue going and the food was a real win. Thank you East Bay Buffet and your amazing team!

How quickly they clear your used plates, how quickly they refill food stations and clean the areas where people are making messes when dripping food everything. The hot seafood book section is a hot commodity! I will say, in the 90 minutes I was there, as soon as it was refilled, it was empty within 5 minutes! But luckily it was refilled again within 5-10 minutes. Unfortunately, they have still not improved the process of order stations for lobster/Wagyu and mala tang/teppanyaki. It causes a lot of congestion and no one is able to get by. People were literally shoulder to shoulder scooting by each other if they could. It just gets too crowded. And to be honest, where are you suppose to stand when waiting for your food to be prepared? Many people walked away and came back to be confused if it was their food or someone else's. Communication wasn't great either. Overall, for the price (slight increase from opening week), I would go back just for the mala tang station and hot seafood! If I could, 3.5 would be a more accurate rating.

Fantastic Seafood Feast and Outstanding Flavor!…read more Our daughter had visited Bag O Crab with her friends previously and recommended we try it out, as she swore she had the best seafood ever here. We decided to come by on a very hot afternoon for a late lunch around 3 PM. Even at that time, the place was still busy with most of the tables occupied. Fortunately, they have a great cooling system that kept the entire indoor space cold, crisp, and comfortable. The staff is efficient and very friendly, and the overall dining experience was fantastic. Here is what we enjoyed: * Dungeness Crab Meal Bag (New Orleans Style): We ordered the Dungeness crab meal bag and opted for the New Orleans flavor style. The corn, sausage, shrimp, and crab were all remarkably flavorful and tasty. * Steamed Rice Pairing: We got two sides of steamed rice, and pairing the rice with the rich New Orleans spices from the boil bag was an absolute match made in heaven. * Mango Habanero Chicken Wings: We also tried the mango habanero chicken wings, which were cooked to perfection--crispy, spicy, and extremely good. Put on your bibs, get ready to get a little messy, and enjoy some incredible seafood! We definitely recommend Bag O Crab in the Fallon Gateway plaza for a fun family outing, delicious food, and great conversation.

We really enjoy Main St. in Pleasanton and hadn't tried Elia yet so we decided to make a reservation and come here on a Monday evening. This restaurant is gorgeous! It's very charming yet fancy at the same time. When we arrived, we were seated immediately. To be fair, it was a slow Monday and there was plenty of seating. We opted to sit outside due to the nice weather. They brought us waters and bread to get started which I appreciated. For drinks, my wife went with the Cab and I chose an old fashioned. Both came out promptly. For appetizer's, keep in mind they're not very large portions and can take a bit to come out. I suggest 1 appetizer will be enough for two people. Order more than you think you need if you're hungry or it's a larger party. Since it was later in the day, we both chose salads for our entrees. They were delicious! You can tell the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. Our server and service was great- we were checked up on just enough but not too much. Our server was soft spoken, friendly and efficient. I always enjoy working with a server who is professional, courteous and not overly invasive. Not only do I plan on coming back, I'm going to be telling all my friends and family about Elia.
