Ballybunion .... what a funny weird name for a restaurant! This restaurant is located inside the Holiday Inn in Dublin. It's open for breakfast at 6am till 10am on weekdays and open till 11am on weekends. Then they close till dinner at 5pm. There is no lunch service here. It really basically just serves those staying at the hotel here as you don't have to drive anywhere for dinner or breakfast. It seems geared to the business traveler. The ambiance is not the best, just sort of utilitarian in a hotel. There is a full bar if you need that. I was here for breakfast. Breakfast is a buffet with an omelet and waffle making station, hot foods as well as cold cereals, fresh fruit, toasted muffins and breads, along with juices and coffee. The price is around $12-14 I think. I was able to get a free voucher from the front desk for my breakfast, so the price was right there. Just ask (real nice) if you're staying here at the hotel, good chance you'll get free breakfast. The buffet is way better than the free breakfasts you get a Holiday Inn Expresses that I frequent. The eggs are "real" eggs. The sausage and bacon is a higher quality as well. Most anyone will be satisfied with the breakfast served here, juice and coffee included. All you can eat too! Dinner is basically salads, burgers, some steaks and fried foods. Actually not bad what they do offer. I had a burger here once and it was actually decent and came with fries. You only eat dinner here if you're too tired or lazy to go out and drive somewhere, though there is an OutBack Steakhouse next door, but I think I might pick this place over that! You can put the tab on your hotel room if you're staying here. I'd say overall, better than most dedicated small hotel restaurants.

Service was prompt-quite fast really! Felt very transactional. These guys are fast as the wind. Impressive bar skills! I got my burger to go, but not many people here on a Monday night. Seems it's just business people. (Like me) its very much a diner type feel. But, it's the Ho-Inn....sooo, it's fine. What do you expect?

The food and bartender Paola were great - only reason I can't give more than 3 stars was the horrible ambience!! We were at the bar - behind us they were SO disruptive setting up for an event tomorrow!! When they started slamming down the dance floor tiles, I started losing it! It was so freaking loud!! It was like getting hit in the back of the head! I asked them to stop slamming them down and either they didn't care or couldn't understand English. We left as soon as we could get the check. Paola was very nice and friendly! Jalapeño poppers were inconsistent - 2 were way too spicy but 2 were good. The Baja chicken and chicken apple sesame salads were great! Wish they hadn't been so rude behind us!

    Cajun gumbo pasta.

Food was excellent, but the cocktails brought it down. We had the Cajun gumbo pasta and the rib eye steak. The stars are definitely for the food. Steak was cooked perfect and the pasta had just enough spices. As for the drinks, don't order anything special. Only order cocktails off the menu. If you ask for a Sex on the Beach, you will be wasting your money. It was like flavored water. Service was great! We wouldn't go back to eat dinner because the drinks were terrible.

Great selection for menu offerings. Sharing the tri-tip steak and eggs with my daughter. And an ube latte, ube matcha iced coffee and mango matcha. When it comes to the Bay Area's ube drinks, I'm always let down and I surprise myself when I do order it. Like tell me I'm lying when Starbucks' ube was a massive fail for me as a Filipino. Post- meal: steak was medium rare and juicy. My younger daughter was in heaven with her tri-tip and A1. Country potatoes were well seasoned. My daughter had club sandwich which she ate voraciously. She's not typically a sandwich person so this was a good sign! Our specialty drinks. Now, with the ube. The ube foam had the tiniest hint of ube flavor but it was more of a purple foam and didn't satisfy my craving. My younger daughter had the ube matcha and although she liked the ube foam, she kept asking me to ask for more because her drink only tasted like matcha. It was more of the same for my daughter who thought there wasn't enough mango in the mango matcha. If we don't finish our drinks, we usually take it home to go but we decided to leave ours. It's not enough to have a good presentation of specialty coffee drinks but the taste leaves one wanting. I want them to do good. There are better foams and syrups out there. Check out the syrup that Porto's uses for their ube matcha. There's great small batch syrups as well. Our waiter was lovely. You get the sense that this is possibly his family's business. If not, he definitely had pride in this restaurant and his work which leads me to believe that I would give this place a try again to eat their food and see if they've improved their coffee menu.

Unfortunately the food took a while to come out. So I sipped on our mimosa flight while we waited. Their flavors that day were cucumber elderberry, orange, peach, and pinapple. Even though the wait was extremely long, the staff continued to check on us. I ordered a simple breakfast - French toast, eggs, and bacon. And it was delicious. If you're looking for nice breakfast spot with friendly customer service, look no further.

They have a lot of cute pastries in their bakery display. I got their ube cookie and thought it tasted better than the pancakes actually. Now, I can forgive a mistake here and there but when you do so many things wrong over time it takes a toll. I will not go into detail but someone needs to take a hard look at what is happening starting at the order taking all the way through to the arrival or picking up of the food. This isn't cheap fast food. There is a supposed to be premium to their product at every step and the costs reflect that. So, when there is a flaw in my mind it is glaring and magnified. Long story short. I will continue to be a patron at the Pleasanton location as it seems there is still some of the old Denica's quality control still there.

I was also surprised they have a little market with to go items, cold entrees, baked goods like cookies, bread, chocolates, etc and lots of cold drinks. I got a cookies and cream dirt cup to go for dessert and it was tasty and reasonably priced at $4.50. I wish they would've had individual cookies (large size), but they only had packs of 4 or 5 each for $9. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot right near the movie theater. Service: server was attentive. Food: I ordered the fish tacos (fried) with side salad. The fish portion was a bit small and a little over done. The tortilla was handmade, but a bit thick. The avocado was fresh, but could've used a bit more pineapple salsa. The side salad was a good portion, but fairly basic and had a lot of citric dressing mixed in. They have a wood fired oven and I probably should've opted for something different like a pizza or other entree, but was trying to find something light.

I interacted with autumn, and Dazha, both of whom were very kind, attentive, and provided great recommendations. They provided excellent service. I did not have to wait very long at all to get a beer, or order any food. I was also appreciative that they were able to carry a conversation with me as a patron versus just treating me as someone who was impeding on their workday. Now, onto the beer. I enjoyed the No Tanlines IPA, & the Tropidank IPA. Both were phenomenal. Great taste profile, went down easy and not too heavy on the ABV. Those beers paired nicely with the food that I enjoyed. Speaking of food their menu is just the right size with the right amount of options. I didn't find it overwhelming because honestly nothing is worse than a large menu with excessive options especially at a brewery. Lastly, the ambience of the brewery was very enjoyable. It's just the right size, and they also have a rather eclectic music playlist that I particularly enjoyed and it seems that the Staff there enjoys it along with many of the other patrons. Overall, this establishment will be a place that I revisit again probably more than once during my time in Dublin California and it will certainly be my go to place for a post round of golf meal & beer(s).

The location and setting are nice with a shaded outdoor patio with extensive seating and a cozy feeling inside with tall tables and a nice bar. Service is a little spotty though. The last time I was there, I sat at the bar and noticed more of the staff dynamic than I've seen before. The bartender never once wiped down the bar top even though it was obviously covered in sticky spilled beer and bits of food. The staff were grumpy and didn't seem to be enjoying each other or serving people. One staff person complained about patrons and said they can either wait or order off the QR code...ouch. I got so tired of the bar vibe that I paid and took my beer outside to enjoy in peace. The beer selection seemed decent but I wasn't that impressed to think that I would frequent the place on future visits. They call themselves a brewery but I honestly didn't see any signs of brewing equipment and most of their beers were from other breweries. I'll give it another try but I might have to find a new beer spot.

The people dining inside were even dressed differently from the outside guests. We had some drinks that were reasonably priced. Not the best mule I've had this year but I cant complain.. We ordered the tuna tacos and crispy calamari for starters. Both were a great start to the evening. The tuna was fresh and the calamari came with a sweet heat sauce that left its mark on us.. my wife regularly orders lamb chops, so in comparison they held up in taste to many places but the portion size wasn't the heartiest. The salmon dish was a homerun and so was the jambalaya. Im a fan of wellingtons so I had to take the opportunity and I wasn't let down. They use a filet so the size cant be too big, realistically. Mashed potatoes and the sauce complimented the steak for a complete all around dish. We finished with a pineapple upside down cake. Dense but not too heavy with a nice sauce and ice cream on top. Very good experience and I didn't catch our waiter's name(an older latin gentleman) but he was very attentive and treated us like all stars.
