It is good to eat at a chain restaurant occasionally. It makes me appreciate all the local places we have to choose from. The house margarita was so limey I could not drink. The frisco salad was very good. Crisp lettuce with a nice dressing. The nachos were so greasy we could not eat. The chicken and waffles were good but super sweet. Not a bad meal but not great either. I'm kind of shocked that I'm writing a review of a Chili's restaurant, but here's why: This particular location on Hurstbourne Parkway is fun to go to! The location is close to Shelbyville Road as well as I-64. My wife and I like to sit in the bar area. There are lots of TVs to watch ballgames; the booths are small and intimate; the staff - especially Susan - are incredibly friendly; and the food - at least the stuff we order - is quite good. First off I need to say I'm not a huge fan of large chains. Chili's and Outback have always been exemptions to the rule, so armed with a gift card we ventured out last night. The server was okay, a little long to greet us. The tablet at the table costs $1.99 to play and evidently doesn't take any type of consent, as my kids proved quickly. The atmosphere was typical 90's chain style; loud, tacky and overstimulating. We had a hard time understanding the server, who got most of our order wrong probably due to language barrier. The food is where things really fell apart. I ordered the 'pick 2 smokehouse' with the grilled chicken (bacon/cheese with some odd citrus type flavor) and 1/2 rack of ribs. Both had been sitting out for a considerable amount of time. They were so dry that half of the ribs were inedible (think beef jerky with sauce). They splashed some fresh bbq sauce on top of the dried sauce in an obvious attempt refresh old food. The cheese on the chicken was so hard my knife couldn't cut through it. My best guess is my plate spent at lease 30+ minutes under the heat lamp. The server didn't stop by for a good 15 minutes, so I didn't send it back. My wife's fajitas were marginal, but my one kid liked his chicken fingers so that's a plus. This Chili's location has been open since the 90's and it shows. I would recommend any number of fast casual or bbq joints in the area over Chili's. read more

Met up with some friends from a previous employer as we do every couple of months to keep the friendships going. Usually a great experience. Everything started off wonderful as there was friendly and prompt service that was also not overly attentive or time pressing. Our server gave us the space and time to relax and catch up before we placed our orders. The food was delivered in a timely manner and all meals came out at the same time, That is one thing I really Appreciate! Food was hot, orders correct and very delicious, so what more could you ask for. Only reason i did not give a higher rating was because of the view of servers setting?standing in booth areas where customers were still dining and scarfing down food. We ate here for lunch today and got the $10 lunch deal. For the price it was excellent! It had been a few years since we had been here and I feel like we quit coming because of the quality of the food. And the price for that quality. Not great. But after today, we will def come back. The shrimp pasta was so tasty! Plenty of shrimp. And with this meal deal, I got a side salad which was the perfect size(my husband agreed) and was fresh. And a drink was included. Tonight we decided to take a vacation away from the mundane with James at chili's on hurstbourne. We hadn't visited since before the school year started back up yet James still recognized us and welcomed us with a big smile and even bigger booth. Which I love because even though there are only four of us (two small girls included), it can get crowded and overwhelming quickly. We ordered and James was so helpful with our girls who can be a bit of a handful as they get distracted easily and can be indecisive. We ordered the white spinach queso to start. And I swear, I am in love. Shortly after devouring the appetizer, our dinner arrived. I was actually impressed with how quickly it made it to us. I had the ultimate bacon burger which was fantastic but huge. I wasn't sure how to go about eating it at first but I managed. The mix of jalapeno aioli, spicy buffalo sauce and honey chipotle sauce was just mouthwatering amazing. This place has set the bar for chain restaurants. As a former waitress I understand being 'in the weeds' but today's visit was a disaster. We weren't there 3 minutes and our waitress didn't come over and ask about drinks she just wanted to know if we were ready to order an appetizer. We didn't even have menus yet. She came back and we placed our order: A turkey club no cheese and original chicken crispers. My sandwich had cheese and more onion than meat and they sent out the chipotle crispers. The person who brought our food was confused as to why we were sending the crispers back. He asked 3 times to clarify our order. Then the manager came over. Then the waitress. SERIOUSLY? They bring the crispers and the check. No ask about refill drinks or dessert AND we were double charged for crispers. Waitress was no where to be found and my boyfriend had to get up and go find her UNACCEPTABLE. We won't be back and what they didn't know is that my boyfriend was one of the original managers who helped open that location. He was appalled. read more

I called two days in advance for a 15 top for lunch (work outing). When I got there I was told I only said 12 (I didn't say 12 but it's an easy correction). We get there and our server is SLAMMED, we are put a long tiny table and we were basically on top of one another. Our server did her best to keep up but it wasn't until the end that the manager decided to help her. My food was pretty clearly put under the heat lamps. All I got was cheese fries and the cheese was hard. I couldn't send it back because we were pressed for time and our server was so busy we didn't really see her. I was also being given sweet tea instead of unsweet. Again, easy fix but we never saw our server. I love this place and go there a lot because I live here, however, I won't go with a large party again because they don't handle them very well. read more

My wife and I have been here on several occasions and have been very pleased. We are always seated right away, the servers are always pleasant and attentive. Not sure what the problem is with this particular location, we go to another one all the time and haven't had problems but this one on the other hands... the women's restroom is grimy and dingy, one of the bathroom stalls has the lock completely removed, the toilet in another stall leaks, the hand soap dispenser wasn't well secured to the wall so whenever you use it it would halfway fall off into your hands. The enchilada soup was good, but the tortilla chips they put in the soup were stale and I forgot to ask them not to put them on my salad that came later so they ended up in there too. Salad wasn't well made (dunno how you mess up a salad but here we are) basically overloaded with toppings, sloppy, and the lettuce was soggy and wilted. Server didn't bring refills even when asked multiple times. My mom ordered "nachos" with one type in mind specifically, now granted this was not the servers fault as my mom should've said which ones she wanted, when she got them and they were not as expected the server said "oh we have 4 kinds of nachos." It might've been nice if she verified the kind she wanted when she ordered since they all have different names. Filled out the survey so hopefully they can make some improvements but thought others should know. You are probably better off going to other locations. read more

I was going to give a good review based on the taste of the food but the service was poor. I came in for lunch no one greeted me and I sat at the bar for 5 min before anyone helped me. The bar tender was friendly but unavailable. She took my drink order then disappeared, took my food order then disappeared. They have a new menu that's 7 pages too long. When the steak meals came with beautiful presentation and looked scrumptious, we were looking forward to chomping down. However, we sent back both steaks because the meat tasted old and bad. Server never came to ask us how the steaks were (not very crowded either), so I walked to the reception area and asked the host for attention. After having to wait for replacement meals, the hamburger was delicious. Replacement Margarita chicken had good flavor and a generous portion of meat, if only it was served hot. He was also wonderful with our children even though they were quite boisterous. We had sworn to never return to this location after a previous bad experience here. The men's room reeked of urine and did not appear to have been cleaned in quite a while, the floors under the tables in the bar area were filthy, and a glance into the kitchen confirmed that cleanliness was not a top priority. My Memphis-style ribs were good, but the person with me couldn't eat their Mango-chile chicken. Waitress wasn't particularly attentive (never refilled our iced tea), but did ask how the meal was and once she learned the chicken tasted funky offered to replace it, which we turned down, and then removed it from our bill without our asking her to. Since I started eating healthy 2 years ago, I take a lot of time in finding restaurants that have healthy options on their menu. You'd be surprised how many 5 star restaurants don't have anything on the menu that I can eat. Chili's has the best Southwest grilled chicken salad in Louisville. Its called the Quesadilla Explosion Salad. It's huge, its healthy, and its cheap. I eat there just for this salad once a week. read more

My Grand kids love to eat at Chili's. The staff gives them something to keep them busy while waiting for there food. They love the chips & salsa favorite is the Margarita grilled chicken.
