We go here periodically with our twin toddlers for a family dinner. Even on the weekends the wait is minimal and they allow you to call ahead and put your name on the waitlist. At times they are slow to check in on you but once you order the food is out quickly which is vital when you have two 3 year olds to entertain. The food almost always comes out fresh and warm and is pretty good. The burgers are very flavorful and the fries are good. The loaded chicken bites are amazing. Not sure why such low reviews, first time here and they were pretty busy so we opted to sit in the bar to eat. Bar seating is open to all with full menu and lively football /sports watching. Went here the other day and two people I was with decided to get fajitas to share, they ordered the chicken and steak combo,, when they were served there was only steak, no chicken, they did however include as a bonus mold on the tortillas, unfortunately the moldy tortillas were discovered after each person had already consumed at least one fajita each, that kinda puts a damper on a meal. Okay, 5 stars based on Chili's standards. I wanted to emphasize the great service we had and great experience at this Chili's recently. I don't see where all the negative reviews come from, but I have been here a handful of times over the last year and always had a nice experience. Usually sit at a table in the bar and we always get taken care of. Food is always hot and haven't had any issues. I think this is Chili's is better than a lot in the San Jose area (I have been to all of them) Never seems to be too packed and we always get seated quickly. Met up with my boyfriend and his mom here last night after I got off work. They were seated in one of the booths near the bar. I sat down and it took the waiter about 10 mins to come around and ask me if I wanted anything. I ordered a water to start, he must have had to go pull it from a well outside or something because it took forever to get it. No straw....something that looked like pepper floating in my ice....ick. I decided to order a cup of soup, I've had the enchilada soup here before and I like it. I've worked in a restaurant before- soup/salad orders are the easiest and quickest orders to fill. Usually everything is already prepped and ready to go, so it should take no more than like 5 mins, right? 20 mins later.....my water is empty...I still have no soup. I spy our waiter leaning, yes! Leaning on the wall near the bar staring off into space and then wandering around the restaurant numerous times. I stared him down to get his attention. Finally he walks by casually, "You good?" No, not "good" dude. "I'd like some more water please and my soup.." "Did you want it in a cup or a bowl?" SERIOUS? So you basically weren't even paying attention 20 mins ago when I ordered? Where is your head at dude? It's waiting tables, not rocket science. So I finally get my soup. He never comes to refill our drinks, no anticipation for anything! My bf's mom asks for a to-go box. Generally when your table starts asking for boxes they are most likely getting ready to leave...which means they'll need the check, right? This guy was really trying hard to not make any tips I think, because we had to ask for that too. It was not very busy in there, so there is no excuse for such lack-luster service. But while talking to us she asks if we would like to sit at the bar, when we had my 7yo daughter with us, so i thought that was a dumb question to ask. My favorite was the time I ordered the all you can eat soup and salad, but then was told they were "rationing" the soup I wanted. Avoid it when they're busy!!! If it were up to me I would leave not stars. We have walked out of this location twice. Same reason each time . Took over five minutes and we had to call a server over to see is we were going to have a server take our order. The server was pretty much attitude so we opted to leave. As we left you get the "thank you come again" so I just said will never happen as we were never served and had to call a server over who just gave attitude. All they said was sorry. That is what happens when you leave kids unsupervised. We took our business to red robin and have not yet been disappointed with their service. First of all the location of the main entrance is very confusing. The To Go door is right when you walk up to the sidewalk and is not clearly marked as "To GO' so we naturally went in there. We walked in and realized we had to walk all the way around the building to get to the main entrance. We ended up having to pass through the bar to get to the front entrance. I was having dinner with my 8 year old son, so walking through the bar area was rather uncomfortable. When we were walking through the bar to the hostess area I noticed a young boy sitting at the bar with his father having chips and salsa. I did not notice if the dad was consuming alcohol. Though I am not sure of the legality of this in the State of California, I found it very inappropriate considering the fact that restaurant was practically empty and they could have sat elsewhere. It was 4PM so dinner rush hadn't even started. When we walked to the hostess area there was no one there to greet us. The place as I said was empty and it took about a minute or two before we were even acknowledged. We were sat down by one person, then our order was taken by another, our food delivered by a different person, our server was someone else and our check eventually by another person. There were a total of 5 people we encountered and there were all of 3 couples in the restaurant including us. The food was so terrible. I got the baby back ribs (which I had at a different Chili's a couple of weeks ago and was very happy). The ribs were hard and chewy. I had to get halfway through the rack before I got any meat worth eating. I got the cinnamon apples as a side which came out stone cold. I sent it back and received a bowl of lava in its place. My son got mac and cheese with a side of rice. Not sure why he went with this combo but he was in the mood for rice. The rice was terrible. They add cilantro and corn in it!? Not something you put on the kids menu. So we asked for corn in its place. They brought out a full ear of corn drenched in what tasted like "movie theater" butter. My son took a bite and it about burned his little face off. I tasted it and said let's just skip it and get the Molten Lava Cake. This was to be our saving grace. I know this stuff is bad for you but from some reason I love it. They bring this thing out and I am hoping for the flowing goodness of fudge to coming oozing from the cake. So poke the cake and nothing happens. I remove the ice cream from the top and sitting inside is this giant lump of fudge; The surrounding cake is ice cold. Ugh, what a shame. We send it back and get a replacement a few minutes later which can be described as simply "meh". Not impressed by this time and I just want to go. You would think with this whole debacle that the manager would come by and apologize of the server would comp the dessert. Nope, not even a lousy 10% discount or free dessert. I was floored. The dinner ended up costing us $35 for some pretty bad tasting food an horrible service. If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm sorry if you love this place and maybe it was just the night (Wednesday) but this place is just not for me. I would not recommend this particular Chili's. read more

Went to get a bite to eat after work with a few friends. When we previously visited we had outstanding service. This experience was quite disappointing. When we walked through the door to see a young blonde girl behind the hostess podium. We asked for a table for four and she just stared at us and gave no response. We didn't know whether to repeat ourselves or sit down because she barely even acknowledged us. After five minutes she came over to us and waived for us to follow her. She started putting 2 menus down on a table and then walked away. We sat and were a bit confused due to the lack of direction or customer service. Our sever wasn't that great to begin with, thankfully by the end of our meal he started actually being attentive. Came here on Sunday with the family and had a great dinner. The atmosphere was up and the staff was on target. Had the dry rub ribs, full stack and they were good. I love that you can call ahead and put your name on the list, so you don't have to wait so long for a table when you get there. I really dislike that they changed their Spinach dip to a spinach and cheese dip... That was my favorite appetizer with their delicious crispy tortilla chips, and its gone forever now. :( Not happy. Service is always good. 5 stars for great customer service, 3 stars for food, 4 over all. Our waiter, Ryan, was very friendly and professional. Had dinner there on a Friday night and was seated with no wait! We did two for $35 deal with 2 margaritas, flat bread chipotle style, half a rack of baby back ribs and a 6 oz sirlion steak and Santa Fe salad and dessert (enough food to make four people very full!). The flat bread and Santa Fe Salad were great, the ribs were so-so and the steak was okay. Our drinks and food came pretty fast and we had a great time overall. read more
