My daughter's 12th birthday and she wanted Chili's. We waited to be acknowledged by the staff for over 8 minutes. I said, maybe it's shift change, because staff members were presently walking around... But then, people were seated after we arrived while we went to the restroom to wash our hands. We went back and stood by the service desk waiting again... Still no staff members greeted us or attempted to seat us at a table. The staff members never looked our way and didn't acknowledge us at all. This is by far the worst service I've ever received at any Chili's throughout for years. This is one of my children's favorite restaurant. I believe this behavior today is truly unacceptable and I've reached out to corporate regarding this incident... Charlie was the manager on duty, I called the restaurant after I left. Charlie stated she'd email a gift card to take to another Chili's. My boyfriend and I went out to eat here early November when he drove in from Ohio. It was the only real meal he had all day, that's how I know Chili's gave him food poisoning. He had the jalapeño burger and said it didn't taste right and didn't finish it, which he always is a clean plate guy. Any who, around midnight, he was puking and had violet diarrhea. He was so tired from puking all night he slept on the floor. Couldn't eat for two days after. I called chili's and told them. They said sorry but there's nothing we can do. I'll never eat here again. Obviously there's some sort of cross contamination going on. Screw this place. read more

The Waite staff was great and the food was what you'd expect from a chilis. The restaurant was filthy. The tables where wiped after each customer and that was all. The floors around the tables were covered in garbage. The staff were yelling back and forth to each other. At one point they were talking bad about a group of customers who complained. I'm surprised to be giving Chili's a 4 star, it may be a five star but I just can't give a five star to a chain restaurant. The service by our waitress was outstanding! Some would consider it a five star just for our waitress but I just can't do that, she did receive a nice tip from our group. I like Chili's just for their soda / pop offerings, the machine they use is a godsend, it offers you over 200 different drink options, I could sit all day and try them all. The chips and salsa and a good appetizer choice and for my lunch I had the Southwestern Eggrolls, they were very tasty! We came for the express lunch. Come to find out they don't have broccoli cheddar soup any longer. That in itself was a huge disappointment. I finally settled on quesadillas. The food was nice and hot when it arrived, but the quesadillias were served without anything else. I expected some sour cream, or guacamole, or salsa, or something. We asked if the quesidillias were supposed to come with sour cream and the server said he could bring some. All was well until we got our bill. We were charged .99 extra for each tiny dish of sour cream. We asked why it was extra and the waiter explained that it doesn't come with the "lunch" quesidillias, just the dinner ones. Really? I told the manager that we were never told we would be charged for the sour cream and after a small bit of her explaining what I already knew, she finally took off the extra charge. As Chili's go, this one ranks ahead of the crowd - it must have good management, as it's usually very clean and the hostesses and wait staff are quick and friendly. It's also a very good place to sit at the bar and eat - service is even better and you can avoid some of the infant and toddler invasion that permeates the place. Like most Chili's, the ribs are surprisingly tasty and they have a big ol' drink bible. The unsweetened blackberry or mango iced teas are a fave of mine. Dessert fans will like the chocolate shake, which is more like a super-chocolately glass of soft serve ice cream. read more

I've gone several times (between 5-15) since living in New Lenox and they are always consistent. Definitely the best service in the area, though many local restaurants have poor service. I always go for a vegetarian burger and it's always satisfactory. 4 to 6 dollar beers are not very pleasant though. I once went and asked for a PBR. I must have spoke too fast because the waitress went to get the drink and brought back a Pepsi and Root Beer combination. It was a good laugh and the waitress handled the situation well. Joe and I decided to have lunch today at Chili's.... not many people there. I must say, the quality of the food has really gone downhill. We both ordered off the lunch menu. Joe had chicken fajitas, which was good, but his side dish of rice was undercooked. I ordered the big bites(2), which were over cooked and dried out, both the meat and the bun. The onions on the burgers was fried hard and dark brown with no flavor. Our waitress came to our table to pick up our dishes and we let her know how unhappy we were with our meal. She sent the manager over to us, who subsequently comped my meal and took $1.00 off for Joe's rice. However, our dissatisfaction with the food was not all of it. The place was relatively empty but several TV's were playing very loud.... in competition with the loud and extended conversation between a waitress and female customer sitting behind us. Not a great experience. I went with 2 friends and we got drinks and food. I ordered ribs and chicken tenders. Even though the ribs are advertised, they're very bland. Same with the chicken. The sauce was okay but overall the food was not too good. My drinks were good, which is the only reason I have rated the high score. Came here with my daughter. The hostess seated us at a booth. Upon looking at the booth it was filthy, crumbs still on the table and seats. I immediately went back to the hostess and kindly requested to be seated elsewhere. Instead of complying, she went back to the same booth with some supplies, did a half ass job of cleaning the booth, and once again went back to her station. The booth was still dirty and since my simple request was ignored, we just left. As we were passing the hostess in the front I told her we changed our minds and were leaving. She just shrugged her shoulders as if she could care less, which didn't surprise me. Definitely not a good first (or in my case last) impression. read more

We got sat at Chili's in New Lenox at 3:26 pm. Seemed odd that almost every table was still full of the previous patrons dirty dishes. There must not have been a bus boy on staff. We signed up for the rewards to get the free chips and salsa, that came out quickly. The four of us ordered and 3 out of 4 of the meals came out after about a half hour. Whatever, but our friend ordered a veggie burger and that took an additional 40 minutes. Needless to say everyone else was already finished, especially me since I ordered a salad and all the lettuce was brown and wilted. I couldn't eat it. Once my friends veggie burger came out, it was so bad she had to spit out the first bite. We asked for the manager who didn't apologize but said he'd take my salad and my friends veggie burger off the bill. He was almost confronting us (mind you we are well dressed ladies in our 40's) but he didn't take off the chips and salsa from joining the rewards program, so I asked to talk to him again and he said he couldn't take it off since he already took off our two inedible meals. We mentioned how all the tables around us STILL weren't bussed and we had to look at filthy plates our whole meals and had to ask again to have the chips and salsa removed. He sighed and took it off, still with no apology. So for one burger and cheese quesadillas and one soda the bill was close to $40.00. I was outraged since we had been there for about an hour and a half and still had to pay what seemed like a large amount so I just paid it and left. Had the "margarita flatbread" & it lacked toppings. My husband asked if I ordered cheese pizza. The cup of soup was extremely small, but tasty. Margaritas are not good, just taste like salty juice mix. My husband enjoyed his burrito but "prime rib" is a stretch. Kids liked having plenty of side options for their kids meal. I love when fruit is offered as opposed to french fries. For the price I would have rather gone to one of the great non-chain restaurants around here. read more

We visited here twice in a row because the first time was so delish. Both times our service was on point. I had the fish tacos on one visit; they were very good, but I could have just ate 1 and taken the rest home... but I munched until they were gone and was way too full! Yum. Just went to eat here with my fiancé and we were asked for four separate forms of ID. Apparently drivers license, FOID card, and several different work IDs and credit cards with the same name did not satisfy the manager initially and he gave us a hard time. He ended up approving and allowing us to order drinks, but it was already too late. We were uncomfortable and disgusted with no apology for the trouble. After having to have the server look at it and then be approved by the manager, then be harassed by the manager, we could not justify staying and paying money for such rude service. Anyone trained in this matter would be able to tell my fiancé who is a male who has not changed what so ever in the last two years is the exact person in the picture. This manager was out to be a jerk and because of that, chilis did not deserve our business. We are now heading to a local restaurant down the road to spend our money. read more

Communication is not a strong point here. Went here at 9:15 PM on a weeknight and asked if it was too late to order steaks. We were told "absolutely not plenty of time to get steaks." Order two, one medium rare and one medium. Got one medium rare and the other came out well done. Sent it back, manager assured us that it would be right this time. After 25 minutes we told the wait staff to go back to the kitchen and tell them to get that steak off the grill, that they were cooking it too long (again!). Don't know if this message was ever received or was just ignored but as we feared the next steak came out even more well done than the first one. The manager assured us that he would personally cook a third steak and that it would be just as we wanted. We were about to go back in the kitchen and find out just what was going on back there when the third steak arrived. Not medium as requested and promised but medium rare. We took it as is, no way we would risk a fourth steak being any better. The manager tells us the problem was that the cook thought the complaint with the first steak was that it needed to be MORE well done instead of less well done (I.e. medium). Not sure how much of this I believe, but I can tell you that I will never come back here again. Just not worth it. read more

I like Chili's because the meals are cheap, consistent, and filling. I usually order Buffalo Chicken Salad, Chicken Fajita Quesadillas, or a specialty burger.
