Seems across the board, Chili's has suffered bad reviews. I'm not trying to add to the negativism but, truth be told, they are beyond bad food and into the realm of bad service. Denying it to the extent of asking me to leave because I expressed my dissatisfaction. I showed my concern to the bartender, stating that she wasn't to blame for the bad food I sent back twice. She stated if I gave a bad survey, it would reflect on her personally. I gave her 5 stars and a 25% tip, then asked to speak to the manager. Kevin was unconcerned, and irritated that I asked for a refund for the food I clearly did not eat. He finally agreed but asked me to leave because I was abrasive. He refused to give me a receipt for the refund and became evasive when I asked to speak to his supervisor. I left. Simply choosing to not return seemed to enable them to treat others this way, therefore, I offer you this. Lower your standards, do not expect good food, do not expect to get good service, do not expect to get what you pay for. If you are ok with this, and the fact they hold servers personally accountable for corporate greed of the degradation of quality, then this is your place. This Chili's location has gone downhill since the pandemic. I've gone a few times and always have a bad experience. Today I ordered food to go. I ordered 2 plates of fajitas. I asked the person who was taking my oder to please do half beef and half chicken on my order. I was aware of the upcharge and was completely fine with that. The person taking the order kind of gave me a hard time about it but in the end said "fine, but the portions will be smaller" since I was ordering the 3 for 3. I said that was fine. I placed my order being very specific that I wanted half and half and was also very clear not to put Pico on top of the beans... I pick up my order and get back to work to find all beef fajitas, Pico on the beans, and NO tortillas. I only get a 30 minute break, so no time to go back..... I was up charged for something that I didn't even get. Not to mention THEY ARE FAJITAS!! missed that experience since I didn't get the tortillas. I think I should get a partial refund if not a full refund since they didn't even give me the order as I placed it and were missing the tortillas. What a way to kill a craving!! Do better Chili's. This is my son's favorite restaurant, but today they stomped on his little heart . we eat there once a week because he likes the cheeseburger sliders and it's usually pretty empty so we can play our card games for daddy and son time. Every week we eat there I always make sure to write a positive review on that server to highlight what they did right. I didn't leave a review today because I know he was disappointed. Full transparency, I had written off Chili's years ago. I received a gift card so rather then re-gifting, I figured why not go and have some fajitas with a friend. I was shocked the wait was over an hour and that all tables were actually full. I would recommend using their waitlist. We were a party of two. The hostess while walking us to our table asks if we needed a high chair? All I can think is we are being banished to the little kids table. When we get there, it is truly the kids section. Typically restaurants don't banish adults to the kids section. I am truly in a quandary why this happened. Our server comes and takes our drink order. A four top with two children sits to our left. The other table to our left is being cleared. We order our meal. A six top is seated in the booth that was cleared. To our right is seating for guests waiting to be seated. There is a party of 8 people waiting. Two of the kids are about 7 years old. They believe it is fun to duck down behind the counter and pop up like a jack-in-the- box and scream as loud as humanly possible. It is now the complete Chuck E. Cheese party experience! Our enchilada soup appetizer arrives. It is like a heavy version of chicken tortilla. Overall a good start. The first table to the left receives its appetizers. They finish and receive their full meal. The six top that sat about 10 minutes after us receives their meal. We have given our waiter who was obviously newer on the job that look of we want our food now. Instead, he brings the check to the four top table. I call the waiter ove to kindly ask him if he can determine what happened to our meal. Initially, he says the six tops food came out faster because they were all appetizers. I point out the four top had consumed a complete meal and was now paying. He disappears for a while and comes back to say that our meal will be ready soon. By now, you are probably thinking this should be a one star WTF type of review. But, the manager comes out. She was extremely nice in how she handled the situation. She apologized for the wait and said there is no valid excuse. They had an IT issue and that the kitchen staff had just started our meal. I appreciated that she didn't try to blow smoke up our hind quarters. There was a genuine tone and professional attitude that I have not seen in restaurants lately. It is for how she handled the situation that is why I am giving 4 stars. So, the food came. The shrimp fajitas were exactly what you would expect from Chili's. I still cannot understand the minimalist accoutrements served with them. With the three item fajita order, you are given enough to make about 4 large tacos. But, the pico, cheese, sour cream, and guac is only enough for two. The steak my friend had was cooked perfectly. The manager comped a dessert so we got their version of B.J.'s pizookie. It was more cookie dough and is worth trying if you have not had it. I do like B.J.'s more because I get white chocolate and raisin to be different. Surprisingly, the manager also comped one entree which was unexpected after the cookie. Overall, their food is decent. In my youth, we lived at Spoon's and Chili's until closing time. Seating us in the children's section is a training issue. Had I seen another open table, I would have asked for it. When there was a problem, the manager treated us with class and respect. (7/26/2022) Green hair girl (our server), guy with glasses (host that should be at the front greeting and seating), and another youngish guy serving in next section next to us were completely abandoning their tables to go sit with some blonde girl (pretty sure she works there too and was eating and taking up a table) and were literally all just talking and sitting around while their tables were waiting for food or even drinks or refills. All of our items were brought out by food runners and we literally have to wave our server down from talking with another employee to get a water refill we had been waiting for. I eventually got fed up and timed one of their "mini break" sessions and they literally all spent 5-7 minutes talking to this blonde girl in the back of the restaurant. Honestly I don't care that they were doing this, but it was the fact that this was during a dinner peak time and people are waiting for decent service. Especially for the host to be in the back of the restaurant chit chatting instead of oh i don't know greeting customers? Sit and chat during slower times, not when people are literally waiting to be at least acknowledged. And maybe don't do it in plain sight of the customers you're ignoring. Oh, and our food wasn't even correct but we were already so annoyed we just made do. This particular Chili's location is always a hit or miss whenever i visit. For one thing the wait is usually pretty decent - depending on the day sometimes they will seat us right away and other times we'll have maybe a 5 minute wait. So it's not bad at all. The restaurant has plenty of seating and also a bar area. As for the service, the waiters that work here are decent. Not all of them are up to their "A game" but its understandable on the days that they are busy. My most recent visit we had Carly as our waitress and she was very attentive and made sure we were receiving everything in a timely matter. This particular day was a Saturday evening around maybe 6-7 PM? Decent time for the dinner crowd. The only issue i had was the chicken. It was so dry! I honestly don't see how they thought it was ok to serve. We got the Ranchero chicken tacos first and it was pretty good except for the fact that the meat was dry - other than that the toppings and sauces on the dish were pretty good. I made the mistake of ordering the chicken enchiladas, but this was before we had gotten the tacos as an appetizer so i didn't know my main dish would be just as unpleasant. I haven't lived in Rancho Cucamonga in a while now (at least 8 years), but while driving through on business I decided to stop in. Turns out they had a new remodel done to their bar and front entrance. It has a very modern appearance consistent for a modern business crowd. The bar was redesigned to be more open with larger tables that either fit large parties or multiple small parties at once. While still maintaining a small separation between bar and dining room, the wall was torn down and the negative space, in a way, actually connected the vibe between the bar and dining area that gave the place that right touch of uniformity. The service was also pretty great. I had two Presidente Margaritas. I forgot my bartenders name; she had blonde hair. Regardless, she was very professional, sweet, and efficient. I wish I could remember her name because she made me feel right at home with very little effort. My only criticism...is the Presidente. Why, Why, Why...is it on tap now?? Other than beer, tapped products are a dead give away that signifies one thing: NOT FRESH!! If that's not fresh anymore, I wonder what else isn't fresh. There is no way Chilis is using fresh or top shelf ingredients in their Presidente if it's on tap. It's a waste of money. If I'm wrong, please let me know so I can change the star rating. When we finally got seated, I proceeded to sign into my rewards account at the table-top "contactless" system. I was disgusted at the filthy keypad.
