Food was good but they didn't have Crown Royal Regal Apple. It's one of the hottest spirits right now and they don't carry it. The VFW on FM 78 has it and it's a small bar. That was a complete letdown on Valentines Day. read more

Every time we go to this location, there is an issue anywhere from horrible service to frozen food being served. Yes...frozen, not just cold. Or not enough sauce to cover pasta on one of their items. Last night we arrived and placed our name on the list for a 15 min wait. No room to sit inside, so we went outside where other patrons were waiting. I set a timer for 15 min. While we waited the hostess came out to get the other party waiting outside. When my timer went off, I went inside. I noticed 4 other parties being seated who arrived well after we did. When I inquired I got a dumb look from the hostess who said "We called your name, and no one replied". I said I was outside with the other people who were notified of their table being ready. She apologized and promised the next table. I sat on a seat right in front of the hostess desk. 10 min later, she grabs menus and calls for "Tammy party of 4". I spoke up "What happened to us being next". Another dumb look and apology saying they couldn't find us! What? You didn't even call my name. So, we left. We have lived in the area for 5 years. The last time we were there was 6 months ago after a bad experience. I declined a free meal because that is not what this is about. We are done, and I strongly suggest you forego the awful experience that you will have here. We are DONE! read more

I finally had time to rate this location of Chili's. I first visited this location about 3 months ago with my brother. I showed up food happy hour and got an appetizer and drink. After about an hour I asked for my bill and noticed the bartender (Gary) gave me top shelf spirits instead of the happy hour specials. I asked him why he did this and he proceeded to give me an attitude "It's only $.75 cents more". I blew off the exchange but was not happy. I visited the same location another 3 weeks after my initial visit and this guy Gary does the same thing to my nephew and gives him an attitude. Finally upon my last visit I noticed he was bartending again and I finally confronted him and he tries to scold me I finally had enough and told him I know what he's doing and to get out of my face. I spoke with the manager and told her I'd never step foot in that location again! The point of my review beware of this bartender! read more

Convinced the family to come here even though we had a bad experience last time. Our server was very polite and attentive, but the food was horrible. Chips with our chips and salsa were way too salty. My husband got boneless wings and they were far from crispy, cold, and the celery looked old. My son got a chicken crispers plate. Cold, corn cold. Daughter got grilled cheese that was not grilled and tasted like it had been previously frozen and her broccoli was also cold as well. I got bottomless soup and salad. Salad was good but the potato soup was more like a thick purée. I ate it with a fork it was so thick. Taste wasn't bad but I wanted soup, not cheese mashed potatoes. We were hungry and don't like to complain at restaurants so we ate the food but won't be back again. We were literally there when the restaurant first opened so it's sad that we feel like we were fed cold leftovers. Very disappointed. read more

I used to eat here all the time , until the day I had Embry as a waitress and it ruined Chili's for me all together. She obviously wasn't happy we were there, she was rude, said things I would never say as a server. I was salting my chips and she's says you're salting them like we didn't salt them already .. LOL they are my chips.... also I was looking around and she came over and said you're looking around like I'm not coming to see how y'all are doing.. ? weird. So I still made my boyfriend leave a generous tip because I have been a server and thought maybe she had a bad day, I could help not make it as bad. I always tip good. But then FOOD POISONING . The worst I have ever experienced . So I called the Chili's to tell them what they have done to me and the manager seemed sweet on the phone and said sorry and got my info to send me coupons and never did . Never did. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! My co-workers and I frequently visit this Chilli's and today was awful!! We were seated right away, the waitress came and took our orders and came back with drinks, the manager came back to the table to bring my salad and co-workers soup.......that is the last time we saw anyone. 40 minutes later my coworker got up to find someone and found the manager to ask him where our food was. He disappeared to the back and was never seen again. about 5 minutes later another waitress came out with the food and before she was able to set it down I told her we would have to get it to go, she rolled her eyes and turned around. When she made it to the kitchen door the manager was standing there and asked her a question, she answered and he rolled his eyes. 10 minutes later she came out with our food boxed up, we asked to pay and were offered no discounts, she even blamed it on the "new cook". She of course took her time and even asked me if I wanted change!! Duh!! Well needless to say I am sitting at my desk at work after getting back from lunch late eating cold rubbery margarita grilled chicken. read more

It is so funny when I talk to people who live in the Schertz/Cibolo/Garden RIdge area there is one common theme. They drive to another Chilis. For years we have ate at Chili's normally once a week. That has reduced some because I drive to the Forum now to eat at Chilis. This Chili's in Schertz are for the unsuspecting travelers, who want little or no service, feel like they are going to pay a tip for nothing, and a bother to the staff. Come one folks, it's a chain. Met a couple of lady friends there for lunch today,and all three of us agreed the food and service were GREAT! I had the Classic Bacon Burger, and it was perfection...thick meat patty, perfectly cooked and juicy; great, fresh lettuce and tomato, and the house-made pickles were fantastic. They were crisp and cool and added the perfect textural counterpoint to the hot, soft burger. Cheddar was melted on the burger. The fries, sliced thin and with the skin on, were yummy. One of the ladies had soup and the house salad, all of which she pronounced great. The other had soup and 1/2 sandwich, stuffed with good things and very tasty, according to her. I have to admit that at first I was really tempted to dog this location for their service and staff. However that's not really fair. The food is good and for the price I can't complain. I have never carried out but I have heard horror stories from this location. I always dine in and I have never had something that was terrible. Once or twice when I felt lucky and gambled with a new dish I didn't like it however that is to be expected when you try something new. The food really did save this place. If I had gone on service alone I would have to had to request a 1/2 star rating. The service is questionable. I will continue to come here regardless of the previous statements because of the food! read more

Today I stopped in to order a bowl of Baked Potato Soup & decided to order the Cheddar Bites as well. I had ordered them before a few months ago & they were terrible, but I thought maybe they would be better this time. I was wrong! Hungry & excited to eat my Cheddar Bites, I opened the to-go-box in the parking lot before I could even get home. I popped one in my mouth & could not believe how foul it tasted! It was repulsively bitter & saturated in salt! It actually made my stomach turn. I had to tell my 3 year old son that he could not have them when we got home b/c they were not cooked properly. If your child is anything like mine, he loves his cheese stix or any form of. Obviously he will live but it was disappointing to say the least. Being in the restaurant business for 20 years & working as a Culinary Manager in a restaurant similar to Chili's I knew exactly what went wrong with my order of Cheddar Bites. When grease is not changed out frequently it goes bad, hence the rancid flavor. There are many factors involved in knowing when to change your restaurants frying oil & all managers & entire culinary crew are aware of these factors. They should have all been trained on: keeping the fryer clean, filtering the oil daily, keeping the oil cool & covered when not in use, replacing the oil rather than always topping it off, using oil designed for deep frying & so forth. The fact that it is known & ignored is the sad part! I will not be stepping foot into this Chili's again or any other for that matter (the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree). I sincerely apologize to anyone else who has had this same experience. I only hope to be helpful in educating someone who might not have known why their Cheddar Bites or any other fried food they might have ordered at Chili's tastes repugnant. read more
