My Aunt and I stopped at this Chili's after kayaking at Stoney. We got seated quickly and got our drink ordered as soon as we sat down. Super fast service. I ordered the burger bites with fries and my Aunt ordered grilled chicken sandwich with fries. We started off with queso and chips for an appetizer. While waiting for our food we played several rounds of trivia on the table side game console. Cost $.99. Super fun for a family to play. Keeps everyone off their phones and able to talk and communicate with each other. Other games are available. The queso was top notch. I'm not into spicy food and I was afraid the queso would be spicy. It was just cheese dip with ground beef. Excellent. Not too spicy at all. Could be a disappointment for a person who loves spicy foods. Our entrees came quickly after our appetizer. No disappointments. I was shocked at how many 'bites' there were. Basically a 9oz burger with four separate slider buns. Very filling. Comes with onion strings and fries. My aunt and I needed napkins, silverware and refills and we couldn't get any help. Basically we didn't have a waitress/waiter and someone new always bright us out food and drinks. Finally after 10 minutes we were able to get help and also got our bill and I asked for a box. Remember that game console I mentioned? You can also pay your bill, order dessert and drinks with it. Took us another 20 minutes to hunt someone down for a box. Stopped in to pick up a carry out for dinner. The bar area was packed and it looked like only one person running that area. The bartender did a good job in helping the customers and getting me my carry out quickly. We ordered the Cajun Pasta, Texas Cheese fries, and the chicken strips with onion rings and mashed potatoes. The chicken strips and onions rings and potatoes where very good. Not oily and the chicken was still juicy. And the Cajun pasta was delicious and so was the Texas fries. After spending the night in Romeo we stopped at Chilis. We were hoping for a quick meal, definitely didn't happen. We waited for about 10 minutes for our waiter. When he finally introduced himself, he wasn't paying attention and answered a question we didn't ask. Strange. He took our order which was pretty straight forward, chips and salsa, classic bacon burger (split in half) and a mahgerrta flat bread. Chips and salsa took at 20 minutes if not longer to come out. Burger arrived barely cooked but since our waiter didn't drop off our food we waited until he came to check in us. Food was cold by then. Had the grilled tilapia tacos on this visit, and though they looked amazing, the fish had a strong "fishy" taste which means that it wasn't the freshest fish. Disappointing. The tableside guacamole was really good, I was impressed. House margaritas were only $3.99, but they're not on the menu. Probably because they are pushing the expensive margaritas. I came here a few weeks ago because they had emailed me a pretty good coupon. I hadn't eaten here in over a year so with the free kids meal coupon combined with the $7 lunch fajitas I figured it was a good reason to try it out again. I placed my order online because I wasn't really presentable to be dining in public. Plus it's just easier sometimes when you're outnumbered by little humans. The carry out order was made to order and packaged perfectly. Nothing spilled or made a mess and all condiments were present. The modifications were executed accordingly. The lunch chicken fajitas was a good size portion, and as long as you ask for extra tortillas you will have enough. Otherwise they only give you 2 and you'll have to fork the rest of your meal. The ranch for my side salad is a good quality ranch and I was happy for that (yes I may be a ranch snob). The produce for my salad was fresh and cold, happy for that too. The fajita veggies were good and plentiful, but that's probably because I checked the "extra" box when I placed my online order. Otherwise it probably would have been a pretty weak serving. The chicken now, eh. It was bland and anemic. No flavor whatsoever and had the fake chicken texture. Bag strips?? Maybe, I can't say for certain. Sour cream, shredded cheese and pico were on standby. For a $7 lunch entree it's a pretty good deal. I'll give it another try one day. It might present itself better in the restaurant as opposed to a carry out item. My kids got the chicken strip meal that includes a side and drink. I also added an additional side of fries for only $1, so that they both had enough. They are still small enough were I can get away with them splitting a kids meal, provided I add an extra side of some sort. Note that they offer 2 types of chicken strips, one a fish type batter and one a crispy/crunchy batter. We got the crispy ones that day and they were really good, crispy and crunchy, as promised. 4 decent size tenders came with the kids meal. The fries were cooked perfectly, hot and crunchy too. Be advised that they sprinkle them with a salt/pepper blend which might be a little assertive for little ones. Chocolate milk was the drink choice for the littles and it was as stated. The carry out process sucked and was painful. For some reason it took forever. The man who rung me out kept running back and forth. One bag, then another bag, then scanned my email coupon, then left again for manager, printed my receipt then left again to find a pen, handed me receipt then left again, came back gave me my food, then left again---shit I was dizzy!! Then forgot my kids chocolate milk so left ONE MORE time!!! Was I on candid camera!?!? I got in my truck and was happy to finally be outa there! I got a ton of food that day dirt cheap, $8.48 out the door. And now they are constantly sending me email coupons. It worth signing up for their rewards program that get free food. The fried items were good and the fajita is worth a try again. They need to up their game in the carry out department though. I came in after work; I had a terrible day, actually a terrible week. I sat at the bar, & Derek was my bartender. He told me the Sunday Happy Hour Specials (I've been coming here forever (I live less than a mile away) and never knew Sunday All Day at the bar is happy hour. He was so friendly and nice, & had a happy smile! He turned my night around, just by his friendliness. He wasn't even trying! Truly, such a nice guy. We frequent chili's very often. I was getting carry outs once a week, but the bartender was super rude to me, I asked her for extra ketchup and she tossed two packs on the counter and walked off. I totally get people have bad days but the second interaction with her was not much more pleasant to be fair. The food has always been acceptable, but our laSt visit my burger bun came out crunched up, it was literally bent in half and the other entree for my partner was served at room temp. By the time someone came back to check on us, at least 10 mins had passed, so after a few moments we decided to just make the best of it and eat what was available to us. The chips and salsa are really good here so I'm definitely going to miss that but I'm sure we can find somewhere else with better service and attention to detAil. read more

Let's just set the subject of food aside for a moment ... sometimes the merit of a restaurant lies in the service and an overall feeling of how you're treated when dining there. And I get that that dynamic can be solely based on good timing. Catch your server on the day they finally figured out how to unlock a fun iPhone feature and your service comes with a little more personality, an easier smile and lots of patience. Show up on a day when getting to work meant having to change a flat tire and realizing that you put on mismatched socks and well ... maybe cherubic smiles and happy vibes are harder to come by. I get it. Which brings me to this Chili's location and why my wife and I added it to our list of possibilities on the nights we eat out. We've never gone to this place and not been treated like they were glad to see us. Does anyone who works here ever get flat tires? The service and the table-side manner is consistently positive. Love that about it. Now on to the fare ... because ultimately that's what draws consistent customers, right? Zero complaints ... I get the Margarita Chicken with rice and black beans and it's always terrific. The portion of chicken is the biggest plus, along with the guilt-free calorie count. (Go sans tortilla strips and it gets even better as far as that.) My wife varies but it was fajitas the other night and as usual, the quality and quantity validated our decision to do dinner here. Chili's... everything you would expect from an average chain restaurant, and not a drop more! The good thing about this location is the food is consistently decent. Without exception, it's as described and comes out hot and delicious. The service here always tends to be hit or miss, however. On this particular visit, our server was probably pretty new, and clearly had not been properly trained. We were in no particular hurry however, and most of the debacles just gave us a chuckle and were not a big deal. He did, however, charge us for the wrong tables bill when it was all over (and believe me, I wasn't getting a good deal)... then had to void the credit card sale, which took forever, and then return with everything fixed, minus my card, which reappeared shortly thereafter. No harm, no four I suppose... but like I said, good for a chuckle... we felt bad for the new guy!! Don't worry Chili's, we'll be back! read more

I always hated Chili's. Whenever my best friend wanted to go there I would go dragging my feet. Until I tried their Chicken Enchilada soup. My favorite is the lunch special (but I get it at dinner) for unlimited soup, salad and chips and salsa Yum! I signed up for their emails and they also send me coupons for a discount. My service here is usually pretty good. Often I feel like my wait staff goes above and beyond what I expect of them. They also always try to honor my coupons, even if it means bending the rules just a bit. I also get pick up service, although it seems that the pick up service never has as good as service as the sit down and this is more recent. In the past, I've gotten my unlimited combo to go (not unlimited in this case) and it has been the same that it is when I eat there (about $9). However, when I've ordered it that way recently, they've charged me everything individual and it's been closer to $11. I got pick up on Halloween and the woman who answered the phone and took my order wasn't very competent. I had to repeat my order 5 or 6 times, and she charged me the higher price, even though I specifically said I wanted the combo. read more

Do I have to give them a star? That's how bad our food was. We have been getting carry out from this location since they opened. While the food has had its ups and downs over the years, this time was the worst. We ordered a steak fajita dinner and a rib dinner. The steak was so tuff that I couldn't eat it. I understand that you can loose a little quality in a carry out but this time I can't blame the fact that it was carry out. The steak was full of fat and so tuff that I could not cut it let alone eat it. Now the rib dinner. The ribs were just bad. How something can be dry and mushy at the same time boggles my mind. Decent food... Went in early evening with my family. The wife and I decided to grab some drinks from the happy hour menu at our table. The waitress even gave us some information on the happy hour specials. When we ordered our drinks she came back to tell us that we weren't actually allowed to order happy hour drinks from the dining area. I had to walk over to the bar to get our drinks. Then carry them back to our table. The bartender however not allow me to get two drinks until my wife walked over from the dining area to prove that I was not getting a second drink for myself or an underage drinker apparently? The bartender acted as if she definitely didn't believe that the other drink was for my wife. Incredible. Stupid policy that made me have to walk up to the bar in the first place especially when they had the happy hour offerings at our table. Our dinner was quite good and the manager Brian came over to make sure everything was going alright. He apologized for the stupid policy and was a very attentive to us throughout our meal. Ordered curbside just to get 2 of our orders wrong, informed staff of wrong orders and then waited 40 minutes for new orders just for them to get them wrong again. By then the my order that was correct (a burger) was cold and soggy. The woman we talked to wasn't very nice and did little to nothing to communicate our actual orders and just stood there. Earlier this week I ordered chili's via Door Dash & ordered the old timer burger & chicken tenders. My son took a bite of his burger & asked me if it was cooked. I pulled the bun off & it was raw. Completely raw. I ended up driving to the restaurant & spoke with the manager. She said that she could have it remade but that they cannot do refunds with any online order. I ended up walking out with no food or refund. It was ridiculous & I told her that if my son gets sick that I was calling my lawyer. My honey & I stop by here about once a month. We aren't big fan of chain restaurants, however, it's close to home, fast & they have margaritas. We love THIS location. The service has always been good. Maybe even better than good. You can see the staff working together as a team. My sweetheart loves to tease the staff because they have team service here, he always tries to joke with them. He is not always funny but they take him in stride & are never rude. We have always gotten what we have order, our food has always been hot. Drinks are ok. I always order the spicy shrimp tacos. My favorite. Their menu seems to change a lot, that's good I guess, as long as they leave the tacos.... I am not a big fan of the happy hour margarita, it's cheap but not really flavorful. I just get a top shelf. They have a new system where you can order drinks & pay your bill automatically... Um? Not sure about that. It even had a sliding scale for gratuity... Less personal. I skip that feature. I recommend THIS Chili's. One issue: if u sit in a table that can peak in the kitchen, I have noticed that the floors and visible area is always messy.... Not dirty, just messy. We met up with friends for a post-Christmas get together & decided to eat at this location as there was a silver sticks game in Port Huron last weekend and anticipated the Fort Gratiot location would be abnormally busy. We called an hour ahead for seating - when we arrived they were at 95% capacity. We waited 20 minutes to be seated despite the call ahead. Food: Our server was new and not very knowledgeable about the menu. She did not know what items were gluten-free (I have celiacs), & the menu is not labeled, so I had to look them up online. I ordered a gluten-free salad with shrimp. It was either not prepared as gluten-free or was cross-contaminated as I was sick after we left. The rest of our meals were fine. Service: Mediocre at best. Shortly after leaving the restaurant we realized we had left a card containing a $50 gift card, a gift from our friends, inside on our table. Our friends had also left a few miscellaneous items of their kids- a stencil & large child's bow/barrette. I went back in less than 10 minutes after we had left, to look & retrieve them, to find our waitress cleaning the area. She'd already cleaned off the table and was sweeping the floor. I asked her about the items and she said nothing was left behind. I told her the envelope was white and asked her if she could have accidentally thrown it away. She told me she'd check the trash and departed to do so. A few minutes later returned and said nothing could be found. I find it extremely hard to believe that all 3 of these items were not able to be found. At this point in time, the restaurant had cleared out and was not busy. After scouring the area myself, we reluctantly left. I called to ask the greeters if the items had shown up in lost and found. I was disconnected. I called back a second time and was told they were not there but to call back in the morning. The next day I called to inquire if they had shown up in lost and found. I was asked to call back at 8pm and they would speak with the waitress who had served us. Again, when I called this third time, we were told nothing had shown up. This location seems to be more concerned about co-worker socializing than customer service. Hopefully we will have luck when we call back again today. Its highly unlikely that all 3 of these items were accidentally thrown away. We've all meticulously gone through our things and sadly, our friend's sweet 4 year old is devastated about her missing things. She keeps telling her mom that it was "not her favorite night". They have a new menu with items on a tray and my husband and son ate like cave men and loved every bite of their feast. I usually eat the shrimp spicy tacos and was not disappointed. Honestly, for the past two visits to Chili's, the food was mediocre at best. When I had chicken tacos, the meat was very dry and nearly burnt. Then, tonight, I had bacon ranch quesadillas with chicken. They were not as good as they used to be. Their strawberry lemonade wasn't very good, I couldn't taste strawberry in it. Don't try to go here at lunchtime. Even though the place is empty it will take you 35 minutes for someone to notice you are there. Then an additional 12 minutes for them to take your order. We went here for a quick lunch and it took us an hour and 30 minutes. They had a total of 3 tables that had customers and the waitresses spent most of the time hanging out in the kitchen dilly dallying. The food wasn't amazing but it wasn't terrible either.
