I came here to Chilis with my boyfriend on Sunday in the afternoon. We were sat right away, but the servers kept passing, not taking care of us. I would understand, had the establishment been bustling, but it was not even close to being busy. There was a white majority in the restaurant, which had made us suspicious, as we were the only people part of a minority group in the place. It's hard for us to make accusations, but I find there to be substantial evidence pointing at our mistreatment being a result of the color of our skin. read more

Visited the Chili's and was treated with complete disrespect by both the server Susan and manager Joe. I came in after a long day, just wanting a drink. I provided my valid, government-issued ID (March 2003 DOB), and was immediately questioned like a criminal. The server asked me for my name and birthday while holding my ID, then made an unnecessary comment about people getting fired over ID checks. Totally uncalled for clearly they can't tell right from wrong. Then the manager takes my ID, disappears for 5 minutes, and has THREE other employees examine it -- as if it's fake. He comes back saying, "It doesn't look right" with zero explanation. No apology, no real reason, just judgment and disrespect. As a woman of color, the whole interaction felt discriminatory and humiliating he might as well should've called me illegal too. I've been a loyal guest, often coming with family on weekends, but after this, I'm seriously reconsidering. One of the best Chili's experiences I've ever had for sure. Our server checked in so often to make sure we had everything we needed. Also, our food came out like super fast. The bartender or one of the managers I don't know what he was but he was the one that brought us some margaritas. He made a little joke with us both about the drinks and potentially dessert. The lunch menu was great. The hamburger was huge and so juicy. We asked for extra crispy French fries and they were perfectly done and nicely seasoned. The lunch came with either soup or salad. I opted for a small Caesar salad and it was very good. What made the day even better was our server Nick. He was attentive and came back several times to check on things. First, I am extremely impressed with the Manager Kevin. He was busting his @#* cleaning tables and doing normal managerial duties as well. We were very happy with our experience today. The 3 for $10 deal is awesome. The loaded mashed potatoes are so good , and they brought back the green onions ( yay)! Both types of chicken crispers are great. They allow side substitutions also. This is probably our final visit to any Chili's! The only reason we even came here was because we asked our teenage grandson and granddaughter where they wanted to go for dinner... What is happening with Chili's. I used to live in Plainfield in 2010 and frequently looked forward to eating there and getting take out. Wow fast forward and yesterday I was looking forward to picking up Togo for my family for dinner. What a bust and disappointment. I ordered the old-timer burger no bun, I'm diabetic, I think what they gave me was left over. I requested the burger be MR they only do pink. However, there was no pink to be found. Over fried I got a grisly cooked burger with a transparent piece of cheese and some wilted shredded iceberg lettuce. My boyfriend ordered a chicken salad. However, it too was over cooked and was on a bed of wilted lettuce. The other items, chicken tacos looked, Meh. And the onion strings which sounded good to me were overcooked and cold. While we were waiting for our driks, another employee came up and asked if we had been waited on yet. Typically, chips and salsa are brought out fairly quickly, but in this trip, my kids and I did not receive chips and salsa. This Chili's uses the Ziosk system, which I like for a quick resolution of the check, what I don't like about Ziosk is that it computes the tip after-tax, which is wrong. So there's that.
