Not impressed with service, food or ambiance. Chilis use to have Chicken nachos that were outstanding! Now they replace it with a bacon, chicken ranch quesadilla that sucked. Service is very slow and our waitress was absent a majority of the time. Ordered drinks and then was ready to place the order to find out they have no ribs. Wouldn't one think that would be her opening line? Was told they are making new chips but everyone around us was getting chips except us. When the chips finally arrived they were cold indicating they are not fresh as we were told. Wife ordered a steak medium rare and received it well done while the burger I ordered the bottom bun was soggy. This happens when the food sits on the line waiting for the waitress, which we all know she was somewhere else walking around. As for the ambience , nothing to write home about , tables were not cleaned when we were seated and tables are very close to each other and very narrow. Some of these bad reviews must be from people who should eat at home. They come to chilis but expect this to be dinner at the drake hotel with a waitress or waiter in a white button up. These are the same people that tip 5-10% regardless of what type of service they get. You can't take their reviews for face value. Scourge of the earth. Came in on a Friday around 430 with my daughter, was greeted by the host and all was well. I asked for a booth, I was sat in a tiny booth. The restaurant was empty so I didn't understand why I wasn't given a decent space to dine in. I asked for a bigger booth and was told I had to wait 10 minutes until the next server came in, keep in mind, the manager was nearby and heard it all.. Just how does an establishment keep afloat when there's no flexibility in the way things work. P.s. the place isn't cleanest. Not the usual quality. I ordered two meals for carry out on 12/28/24.  My Cajun chicken pasta dish was horrible. It was a very scant amount so much of the bottom and sides of the container was visible as if someone ate a portion. Hardly any toppings or seasoning and I counted only 6 small pieces of the chicken. My dinner was spoiled. The smash burger came with a smaller amount of fries than usual. I called immediately and spoke to the supervisor Mike, he offered a gift certificate on a future visit and refund or to have it remade and threw in a complimentary desert for the trouble. Although I had to return to the store to get it after having my son pick up the order, I wanted dinner that night so I chose to have it remade. Romeoville Chili's for a get together. We like their service very friendly waitresses, but their baby back ribs were bone dry. I was not happy. Their bathrooms were pretty clean. At the time, I didn't realize the burger was the cause, I thought it could've been anything. A few days later, my partner ordered the same meal and suffered the exact same symptoms. This is NOT a coincidence--it's a serious food safety issue. I have reported this to the health department, BBB, and corporate in hopes no one else will get sick. Came during dinner time with a party of 9 and did not wait long. Our server, Rome, was a nice young kid who had a smile on his face even thought my family kept asking for refills on drinks and chips every time he passed by and his smile never faded. What a surprise! I walked in with my son and was greeted right away. A server came for drinks and we ordered the 3 pick and the Ribs, Corn and honey chicken. I was amazed at how good everything was and I mean a level of freshness, taste and huge portions. I loved the unlimited drinks and the service. I am a regular at this Romeoville Chili's and not only did I have to call 10 minutes later to let them know I was waiting in the Curbside check in after I already checked in when I arrived home, my food wasn't even Luke warm. It was very dry, no cheese, no sauce and the chicken and pasta was dry also. Very little Cajun sauce. I called and talked to Joe, the supervisor who said if I come back they can remake it. It's crazy how horrible this location has become! Not only when we come, they never have enough staff, but we ordered takeout because of this storm. And first thing, they leave it at the door without ringing the doorbell or anything, so the food was at the door for however long in this blizzard so we have to heat everything back up. 2nd, they missed a whole soup and dressing for a salad... so someone's WHOLE meal.... My wife and I had a very good experience at this particular Chili's recently, once we got past a very awkward greeting and seating decision with the hostess. Starting with cleanliness, we saw no indication that the restaurant was anything but clean and bright. Had it been otherwise we would have left. Of course, at noon, with only a few diners there, it should be spotless. While the hostess warned us it could be a wait to get served (we opted to sit at a table and not a booth) because they were short a server, we were greeted almost immediately by one. "Abby" was smiling, friendly and pleasant to deal with. She took our drink order, dropped them off at the table quickly and we took only a few minutes to decide on our order. My wife ordered the $10.99 Cajun Chicken Pasta combo, which we both thought was delicious, and included a large basket of tortilla chips and soft drink. I went with the $9.00 lunch combo of a California Turkey Club sandwich and order of fries. Again, another good choice. Although, the staff can make it faster for us and for everyone to be seated, tables and booth have been empty for awhile. It seems as though they are short staffed. Even the young male host who I find charming need to learn to smile is cleaning tables and at one point I have noticed him sweeping. Knives and forks, Mine and My consultants are both kind of greasy that I have to wipe several times using our napkins. However, the food that We ordered was delivered to our table quite fast.
