Came here today for lunch, I was told a 10-15 minute wait. There were 3 other families in front of my wife and I. And I counted 16 open tables. 8 were open over by the bar, 3 booths were opened right behind the hostess desk. 3 wooden tables were open to the right as you walked in. And there were two booths opened over by the bathroom. So why am I waiting to eat, when all these tables are opened. Finally got called after 30mins of waiting, and here they put us at an open booth in the bar area that I had seen empty since I walked in the door. Then to top it off we sit down and have to wait 20mins on the dot for a waitress to come over and ask us what we want to drink. Like are you serious 20 freaking minutes. That ridiculous. The waitress told us it's because the restaurant is short staffed. Well that should not be the customers fault that the restaurant cannot schedule enough people. Maybe instead of having two hostess, one of them can be a waitress. And how about the manager gets out from behind the scenes and starts helping in front of the house to help serve the customers. Oh and your busboy or busgirl should be making sure the floor underneath the tables are clean as well. Because this is how dirty it was underneath are table. I won't be back. read more

My wife and I visited here in May 2022 about 8:00 on a Saturday night. Lousy experience. Mostly related to service. We sat at the bar and It was 10 minutes before the bartender took our drink order. She disappeared 4 times during our 1 hour visit. The food arrived Luke warm at best. If the food had been hot it would've been good. Felt like no one cared that we were there. The hostess on 1/5/24 at 6:30pm was very rude and miserable. She was throwing her hands up at people as they walked always for simply taking to her. We walked up to look to get a table and she blurts out "25 minute wait" in a nasty tone without greeting us. I'm not surprised this restaurant is rated so low. I have been to a lot of restaurants, and this experience takes the cake for one of the worst. My husband, our 1 yo son, and I walk in to give our name. The hostess tells us there is a 20 min wait when there must have been 10 clean, empty tables - confused, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt assuming maybe they were short servers. After waiting 20 mins, we are seated. The server takes our drink order then comes back with no drinks to take our drink order AGAIN. If you can't remember a water and a lemonade, maybe this isn't the job for you. We ordered our drinks again and our meals at this time, as well. This was about 2:45/3:00. After waiting and waiting and waiting - about an hour - the server comes over to tell me our food is coming soon. During the hour we waited, no complimentary chips & dip and no explanation or apology were offered for our wait. Meanwhile, one table next to us who came in after us and was also waiting a long time, got chips to hold them over as well as an apology and explanation for their wait. Another table next to us who also came in after all of us, got food!! It was unbelievable. Our son was a star, but all littles ones have their limit. Eons ago I would hit up Chili's every so often but last week was probably my second visit within the last five years. Why? Let's just establish the obvious the Chili's is what it is. Even with the renovation the food is never going to be a five star experience and the service is always going to be hit or miss which in some combination is going to leave you wondering why you came and/or do you really need to come back? To me the key to having a decent experience at Chili's is to keep it simple. If you can show up for lunch rather than dinner. The earlier in the day the better. The more simple the menu item the better than chance it will come out actually looking like the picture/as the menu describes it. The first goof worth mentioning is that they have some type of promo called Throwback Thursday. It was some type of burger/chili thing that I possibly would have ordered except our server never told us about it and the manager type looking guy had only distributed the yellow flyer to a few of the tables (obviously not ours) which is why we never knew about until the people behind us were ordering it as we were leaving because they had the flyer. So much of the menu hasn't really changed in years (sure they gussy it up but at the core it's the same things from twenty years ago) and I know that it's off limits because there is far too much of a chance that the execution will be poor so I won't waste my time which is why we stick to simple: Fajitas & Margarita Grilled Chicken Simple. Easy. Near Impossible to F-UP The food took maybe twenty minutes to hit the table and it was as advertised. Our server was largely MIA but as the place was filling up she had more than her fair share of tables which had her stretched thin which is certainly not her fault. A word of advice: As long as they're running the three for me promo it's worth hitting and the dessert prices by themselves are insane with everything being over six dollars. For lunch with no line, meh, why not? But it's not food or an experience worth waiting for which is why personally I only come once every four or five years. read more

From the foh to the back, this place is chil'in. I have come here three times in the past 2 weeks and when that happens, that means somethings good -- real good. The hosts, servers are exceptionally friendly, courteous and attentive. I couldn't grasp any evidence of past reviews here that has given this place fallen stars. Servers greet and routine you, without it feeling, erm... routine. I must have had quite a few refills, because they are kind enough to keep watch and offer refills. The food here is consistently good and great deals to go along. They have lunch specials as little as $7 for chicken quesadillas that come with soup or salad. They have awesome burgers and a cool kids menu too. I find this place, covers just about everyone and welcomes all. come here for burgers, fries, traditional ribs, shakes, fries, soups and even chili. The service there was horrible so we sit down and this nice lady comes over and we give her our order but we didn't get our food til almost an hour later but in between then the lady kept apologizing saying it's a complete mess in the kitchen. Passing through this area I thought I would stop at a well-known chain food restaurant for some typically Dependable food and service. I was very disappointed in this location. Saturday afternoon at 2:30 not that busy. Since I was by myself I opted to sit at the bar thinking I would get slightly quicker service. The server came by fairly quickly and took my drink order without dropping a menu. I waited 10 minutes for a drink and a menu before returning to the entrance to ask for a table and a menu. I got seated quickly and an apology from the 19 year old hostess. Again I sat for another 10 minutes - no exaggeration. No server to take my order. No water, no chips and salsa.... like I was invisible. Finally 25 minutes later... raymond shows up and takes my order. Its difficult to get past initial lack of attention. My drink finally showed up (now I'm tracking the time) 7 minutes in. I felt like I was bothering raymond when asking for chips and salsa. At least they were warm. Food was ad expected. Addendum. The absence of management in this place is unbelievable. Arrived at 6:00pm yesterday and were told there would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table for 6, yet the 40 minutes we waited we stood there looking at an empty table for 6, some dirty tables for 6, along with several other available tables. During this time, at least 50 people stood waiting for tables, watching more and more tables sitting there available, yet it wasn't until 6:30pm that the MANAGER started seating people. There appeared to be no shortage of staff, but if he wasn't bringing food to tables, the MANAGER was seating people as well, even though there were TWO, not ONE, TWO hostesses standing there who did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING the entire time we stood there. read more

My wife and I tried Chili's after not going for the last few years. After our experience today, we will not go back ever. Our food was cold when we got it. My wife had ordered ribs the rib and sauce were cold. I had the sirloin steak. The server did get the manager who comped my wife's ribs. What are you doing to your poor employees? I was there a half hour after they opened and overheard the poor girl say she was the only one there to bartend, bus, and wait on tables. There was another lady host but she didnt seem to be much help. She got our food out and was all smiles but things went sour when 3 more customers came in and she couldnt handle it all alone. The customer got nasty with her and she ended up quitting on the spot. I felt really bad and uncomfortable. One of the worst customer service experience we had. There was one teenage guy who used "b" word for one of my friend's wife just because she accidently dropped her phone and slided to the table on the back. My friend just gave him a look and stared at him and immediately a waiter serving at these bunch of losers jumped in between and yelled at my friend. Even then we didn't confront either the rude waiter or that loser teenage guy and complained to the manager. We tried to explain to her that waiter over there has no right to take sides and yell at customers without any of the fault. He was indirectly encpurging abusive words by not asking those losers to not use inappropriate language. Manager again tried to just brush aside incident instead of apologising on behalf of her staff. Waiter serving at our table was very courteous but there are always bad apples and when they are caught and does not get removed or treated then it creates lot of issues. I hope someone on management side is reading this and takes appropriate action. Please put effort in teaching customer facing employees basic manners. We don't come to restaurant and pay to get abused. read more

We went there because we were given a gift card. We should have just shred the gift card, it was absolutely horrible. I ordered chili for an appetizer and my wife ordered loaded baked potato soup for hers. Both were meh, but in comparison to our entrees they were spectacular! I ordered chicken fajitas, and the amount of condiments they give you is astoundingly cheap. I bet there were no more than 15 strands of cheese in the little bowl I had, and others were not much more. Of course, no amount of those condiments were going to mask the flavor of the bland frozen chicken breast that was still cold in a few places. I paid an extra .99 for some awfully bland rice and runny black beans. My wife ordered Original Chicken Crispers or something like that. They tasted like greasy chicken mcnuggets that left a horrendous and greasy after taste in your mouth. The unsweetened iced tea was the best part of the meal, and it wasn't that good as we had to ask for lemon. If you're thinking of going, do yourself a favor and just don't. Used to frequent this location and usually have prompt, courteous service. On Easter, my kids wanted to go there so we did. They were going to sit us at a table but we asked if we could be moved to a booth. Waitress said no problem. The place had maybe four tables with patrons. They kept moving us all over the place and the manager copped an attitude. The waitress was not to blame but the manager kept moving us. My wife finally said ya know what, forget it. If you are too lazy to travel an extra ten feet to a booth then we are leaving. Anybody who has ever been here knows the kitchen opens to the bathroom. If I could give this place a 0 star review I could, the floor was COVERED in grease, it was slimy. I went with my wife and three daughters, my kids had COLD food, not to mention we had to wait 45 minutes before receiving it. There are plenty of good dining options in the Whitehall/Allentown area, especially when it comes to traditional American style chain restaurants. DO NOT waste your time coming to this Chili's, which provided the WORST customer service I've experienced in the 7+ months I've lived here. We (2 people) sat at a high-top table in the bar area. The older blonde female bartender was tending to two bar patrons and two other small tables. She walked by several times without acknowledging us. After about ten minutes, the bartender told another server to handle us. When that server hesitantly greeted us, he mumbled a sarcastic "Terrific" when we asked how he was doing. After taking our drink orders, he checked our IDs and asked me to recite my home address just in case mine was fake. As a 27-year-old, I succeeded in remembering my address. He said I looked different in my driver's license picture. After that, ten more minutes went by without drinks or service (not even waters) while the female bartender casually leaned on the bar chatting with her two bar customers. When she disappeared into the back once again, the server finally brought over some waters and said the bartender would pour our drinks "Whenever she gets the chance." He said this as if the bartender hadn't just been nonchalantly leaning on the bar directly in front of us only moments before. The server then (accidentally) informed me that my drink order wasn't even going to be correct as he sheepishly asked what drink I had ordered. As a former server and bartender, I get it. Sometimes you maybe don't want to interact with younger and/or foreign-looking customers. Maybe you've had a bad day. Maybe you're just assuming they won't tip well. Regardless, when that attitude affects employees' demeanor at work, the entire restaurant looks terrible and poorly managed as a result. Neither the bartender nor server wanted anything to do with us. They made this clear through their tone, words, and actions (or lack thereof). This created an unfortunate situation in which other customers in the bar area saw us leave, visibly upset, after we sat for 20 minutes without receiving drinks in a mostly-empty bar. I always tip at least 20% because I know it's not easy working in a restaurant. I'm sorry to say I can't (and won't) return here because of the terribly unwelcoming environment at this underwhelming Chili's location. Whether it was due to racism, ageism, poor attitude, or something else entirely, we didn't feel like guests. Instead, our existence felt like a major inconvenience for their employees. Made a mistake and stopped in for a bite. Disappointing in the meal. Ordered a cup of Chili and got 2/3 of a cup which was not that great. My wife ordered the Quesadilla and salad. Salad was swimming in dressing and was spreading over the plate. Told the waiter who laughed it off as we always dress it that way. After he meal when we expressed our disappointment he notified the manager who came over and commented that it was a lot of dressing but made no amends. There are better choices in a crowded area.
