My family was staying at the Disney resort in Vero and I met them for dinner. The dining options at the hotel and off-property are very limited. This is the only restaurant on property and the menu is small. Service started with bread, which included rolls and corn bread. We had four kids with us, and they brought out their food first, which was appreciated. I ordered the salmon, which was fine. It wasn't anything special. My wife and I are staying at the Disney's Vacation Club Vero Beach resort. We wanted to try out the Wind and Wave restaurant. We had a bit of a wait so we went to the Green Cabin room for a couple of drinks. Beautiful lounge with beautiful views of the ocean. When our table was ready we asked if we could bring our drinks to the restaurant and the bartender said we would have to transfer drinks into to go cups and they would transfer them back into glassware as soon as we were seated. When we were seated a manager type person said our server was busy with a huge order and he was more than happy to help. He did accommodate us with getting the glassware for our drinks. He also took our order to help out with our server. My wife ordered the chicken salad with avocado and the French onion soup. I ordered the mahi mahi fish and chips. I have to say the fish and chips were some of the best. Four fish planks with tasted like a home made tartar sauce. They laid on a good portion of fries that were cooked well. The restaurant was a quaint nautical themed place with a nice atmosphere. We had the festive center piece due to the Christmas season. The server I think forgot our French Onion soup and brought it to us a bit late in the dinner. It was a hardy soup and we couldn't figure out what was causing a sweet taste to it. Maybe they used a sweet onion in the recipe. When we received the bill it had a 25 dollar corking fee place on the bill and we had to remind our server they we brought them from the bar and he was more than happy to take it off the bill. Overall the restaurant put out great food at a little bit higher price point, but well worth the experience. If we come back to the resort we will definitely plan on having dinner here again. read more

I recently visited the Wind and Waves Grill at the Disney Resort this Tuesday. The restaurant was clean and cool (temperature), with basic but classic decor. The service was friendly and adequate. The menu had some decent options. However, this restaurant is not ideal for fine dining. If I returned, I would stick to simple choices like salads, sandwiches, and flatbreads. I ordered a steak, and it was overcooked. The sides that came with it were also overcooked. It almost seemed like my dinner had been microwaved. The beef was of average quality at best. I ate half the steak and skipped the sides. My companion ordered salmon, and hers was also overcooked and just okay. The bread pudding was the highlight of the meal. It was fantastic, sweet, and a very healthy portion. I enjoyed that dessert a lot. I would come back here for lunch, breakfast, or a casual meal like a burger or flatbread. This is the only restaurant on the DVC resort. They offer a seasonal plant based plate as well. Disney relies on Impossible mostly for their plant based options. We had such kind and caring service. We are happy with our meal here. Once a year we get a steak and this was the night. We ordered New York strip and it was delicious and well prepared. Great job. We've eaten here several times when staying at Disney's Vero Beach resort. It's located not too far from the lobby and has a nice open feel with a dramatic A-frame ceiling. For this stay, we had reservations via Open Table. We enjoyed two dinner and two breakfasts at Wind & Wave. Each visit, we had lovely service. The servers were friendly, helpful, and attentive. (Disney charm like you experience at Walt Disney World.) If I had to choose, I prefer breakfast over dinner, but dinner was delicious as well. Breakfast has my fave plate ever, the Mickey waffles with key lime curd. Hands down the best and one of the reasons I stay at the resort! The grits are phenomenal! So much so, I had a cheddar version of them with shrimps for dinner---so good! For dinner, don't miss out on the crab and corn fritters. A must! We skipped dessert, but there's a little shop nearby and you can enjoy Mickey bars. Coming here is like a visit to the World but without the sore feet. Highly recommend Wind & Waves! read more

We came here for the Character Breakfast on Saturday Mornings. Overall it was a fun stop, the kids absolutely enjoyed the character interaction even though it was only goofy and Pluto they did a good job! The servers were all great, and they seemed to have the system down. We sat by the windows and it was a beautiful view. Overall we would come back, we were unable to get other reservations for our time at the resort but every time we walked by it didn't seem super busy so I'm not sure why that is. read more

Fantastic dinner with the lady at Wind & Waves. We both had steaks and the oak fired filet & new york strip were amazing! As for a character breakfast it could have been more like a buffet or family style but nonetheless Disney fun away from Disney. We also were celebrating our anniversary and got presented a cupcake which was great. The monkfish was lightly breaded and fried and topped with a citrusy sauce, the potatoes were crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside and the glazed carrots were firm yet tender and slightly sweet. The shrimp and grits was filling with plump grilled shrimp, soft, creamy grits and spicy chorizo. The flourless chocolate cake was decadently rich and the vegan berry cobbler was lightly sweet, and tart with a crispy oat crumble. Substitute vanilla ice cream for the coconut frozen dessert that refused to melt. Service: it's Disney so it's friendly, attentive and efficient. I recently dined at Wind and Waves Grill, and it exceeded my expectations--this will definitely be a must-do on future trips to Disney's Vero Beach Resort. We were greeted and seated by Jill, who happened to be a big fan of our show, which made for a fun start to the evening. Our server, Andrea, was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The meal began with sweet Hawaiian rolls and homemade in-house cornbread, both of which were a great start. The cornbread, in particular, was a standout. I also loved the unique touch of Pink Himalayan sea salt and black Hawaiian salt on the table. I ordered the soup, which was a large portion of sweeter tomato broth with a light spice that didn't overpower. It was filled with lump seafood and was hearty and satisfying. The hush puppies were interesting--while the slaw lacked seasoning, the hush puppies themselves had a creamy interior, which I'm not sure is typical. They were well-cooked on the outside, though, and while the spicier sweet sauce wasn't necessary, we enjoyed them more without it. For the main course, I had the trout, and it was absolutely perfect--flaky, hot, buttery, crispy, and tender all at once. Trout is a milder fish, which I appreciate, and this dish hit all the right notes. My wife had the Shrimp & Grits, which were equally impressive. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned, the grits were flavorful, and the sauce had just the right amount of kick. Even though I didn't need dessert, the Key Lime Cheesecake had my name written all over it. It's more of a deconstructed cheesecake, served as a key lime tart with a generous mound of cream cheese icing on top. As an icing lover, I was in heaven--just know it's not your typical cheesecake, but it's delicious nonetheless. We went for the character breakfast and were lucky to get a reservation the week before we were in town! It was such a great experience for our toddler - the characters spent a lot of personal time with us comparative to other experiences and our child was so happy to see them!. The food was solid - the bananas foster French toast was good but I was expecting the bread to be a little higher quality than it was. The iced coffee and bread basket were both fine. We are here twice while staying at the Disney resort. It is very kid friendly, which should be a given. I have a gluten allergy and although they said they could accommodate me, the options were a bit limited compared to a typical Disney resort. The ambiance is casual but classy. My family and I always have dinner here while on our annual vacation at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. Tonight's dinner did not disappoint -- we ordered four different entrees, and everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious! The Bacon-Crusted Salmon was accompanied with a jam that was full of flavor and made this dish stand out! The Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin was delicious! Pork tenderloin can be a tricky dish to not dry out or be overcooked, but this was prepared flawlessly. The dark cherry jus was amazing! The last two dishes were from their daily specials menu -- the New York Strip with mashed potatoes and Swordfish with broccolini and truffle oil wedge potatoes. We would order everything again in a heartbeat. Our server was really nice and service was top notch. We sat in their sunroom dining room, and I loved the view of the foliage. I believe this is the only restaurant at the resort so we came here for both dinner and breakfast. To save you time, id you are going to pick one, breakfast is definitely the better option. Pros: 1. With reservations the table is ready upon arrival, no wit time 2. Service, as is common in any Disney property, was very friendly and professional 3. Food comes out fairly quick 4. Restaurant itself is spacious and not loud, allowing every table to enjoy their conversation. 5. You can just walk to it from your room, no cars or ubers. 6. Desserts are amazing, especially the banana fosters bread pudding 7. They have a Mickey shaped dome dessert but you must order it when you make the reservation. 8. You can get a bread basket for breakfast for only $9 including croissant, cornbread, cinnamon roll, and 2 more. 9. The muffins on the breakfast sliders are crumbly and buttery, so good! There aren't really cons but just OK parts. 1. Menu - not too many options. 2. They call a pulled pork sandwich a Burger and got my hopes up before I read the description 3. Fish and Chips was a big portion, with perfectly fried fries but the fish was very bland and too much batter 4. The kids' petite fillet although cooked to perfect temperature, they added too much peppercorns and it made it too spicy for them to fully enjoy it. 5. The potatoes on the pot pie tasted weird, like box potatoes. 6. And the rest of the food on the table was again, just OK. 7. Lattes take time because they had to get it from the coffee bar upstairs. 8. We were always missing at least 2 glasses of water for the table and had to wait long for refills. So as you can see, the fact that it's right there is a plus if you are ok with "Disney Park" / diner style food. read more

Chandra's service was so great! She's supplied everything we needed in a timely mannered. Very respectful and a person you can have a great conversation with. My open faced BLTE was delicious, and not too heavy on the stomach. My boyfriend got the Hawaiian Style Loco Mocco and wow!! The bacon fried rice was so savory, I would order just that if they had that option. The POG juice is a Disney classic, and it was very refreshing. The coffee was alright, I feel like Disneys coffee all taste the same everywhere you go; it's not my favorite. The restaurant is spacious and pretty peaceful. The food I got always hit the spot, was well-cooked and was delicious. Let me start by saying this is a Disney Resort. From the moment you enter the building, the experience begins. The grounds and atmosphere are beautiful. You will feel like you are they on vacation. Some of you might be but I 'm lucky enough to be a local. We had a 5pm reservation and were seated promptly. The host and the server were very friendly and accommodating. For an appetizer the table shared shrimp hush puppies. They were served with tasty sauces to choose from. I also had French onion soup which was cheesy and had a tasty broth and chock full of onions. I had the hamburger which was cooked perfectly and all of the extra ingredients it was a taste sensation. My wife had the NY Strip which was cooked to perfection and according to her, very delicious. For dessert we had the bread pudding and termasu. Both were very good. Overall, I would recommend checking it out whether you are a hotel guest or just a local like myself. read more

Sooooooooo, after my last review, we have been back annually and have been generally happy for the most part. This last time however, we were really disappointed. I ordered the filet, this time it was prepared with a mushroom demi and served with mashed potatoes & green beans. My husband ordered the fish & chips. I ordered my steak medium and it was served pretty much well done. Totally grey, zero pink. They took it back and replaced it with another well done steak. Let me just say, I hate sending food back. I hate sending stuff back a 2nd time even more. So I decided to just keep it. It wasn't totally dried up, so I thought I'd make do. The steak had no flavor at all, aside from a strange off putting taste. I can't put my finger on it, but it wasn't very nice. The feel of it was not like a good filet either. I'm not comparing the quality to a high end steakhouse, but I've even had a better filet at Texas Roadhouse. Luckily, my husband is Mikey. IYKYK. He'll eat anything. So he took my steak. Unfortunately, the Fish & Chips was soggy. Not crisp at all. Nor was it flaky. It felt like I was eating a chicken tender instead of fish. So I pretty much just ate a tender and some fries. Thank goodness for dessert. The bread pudding a la mode was nice and we really enjoyed it. Service, as usual was very good. Our server Muriel and her trainee Daniel were both very nice and helpful. The day was spectacular outside that day, and we were sitting by the window. So the view was nice. Although we now live locally, we still use our points to stay at the resort. We dined at Wind & Waves while staying at the beautiful Disney's Vero Beach Resort. They had very good COVID precautions and tables were well distanced. Our server (Muriel?) was super sweet and continued to be another example of the great service at this resort. Bread service was warm dinner rolls and mini cornbread muffins. For appetizers we got the Wedge Salad, which became a mixed greens salad because they sold out of iceberg. It was a nice light fresh start to the meal. We also ordered the Conch Chowder which was had a deep tomato flavor. It was almost a chili style in my opinion. In prefer cream based chowders but this was good. For entrees we took our servers recommendation and got the Catch of the Day Oscar style (mahi-mahi) and Shrimp & Grits. The Mahi was a grilled moist piece of fish with a creamy Hollandaise and crab topping. It was served with some grilled broccolini and mashed potatoes. The Shrimp entree was key west inspired by having a coconut cream and pineapple chutney. The shrimp were seasoned with jerk seasoning and grilled. Overall both were delicious. Our only complaint was that it all could have used more seasoning. For dessert we ordered the Key Lime tart and S'mores tart. The s'mores arrived at the table with a dome on it and when pulled off revealed a campfire smoke smell that made the experience fun. The menu had a variety of steak, chicken and fish. There are also daily specials including a plant based option. It is a good restaurant for this resort and we enjoyed our meal there. I would definitely return. read more
