My home inspection notified me that I needed to get my chimney inspected to determine if it was safe to use. I contacted Next Level Chimneys and they came out to take a look and determined it was 1) not safe to use but 2) they could help me bring it back to working order. I don't know anything about chimneys or fireplaces tbh, but the folks that came to my home were incredibly communicative and explained to me what they saw and why what they saw meant my fireplace was a bit of a wreck. When they returned to do the bulk of the work, they were prompt and respectful. They asked before doing anything like unplugging an outlet, cleaned up after themselves, explained all the work they did and in what state they were leaving it and when they expected I should hear about a return visit. Next Level does charge for an inspection visit, but our new property was missing spark arrestors, so Shannon suggested having them come install those, which would cover the fee for Jesse to do his very thorough inspection (photos, detailed explanation, happy to answer questions, returned the quote for work when he said he would). The news was worse than we hoped because we didn't know the above-roof portion was that rough till a roofer pointed out we should get it looked at, but Jesse's pix were painfully clear. He didn't try to hard sell or pull any scare tactics, he listened to our thoughts for the two fireplaces and helped come up with a good plan for how to secure everything without paying for unnecessary work. It was a good chunk of money, but they worked hard for a very long day in the rain, and Dan came back about a week later to do the sealing that needed a dry day to apply. Their communication is excellent: Shannon and Dan are the owners and it's usually Shannon answering the phone, they show up exactly when they say they will, and the work was done exactly how they said it would be. When Dan came, the first thing he asked me was if his guys had treated us well, and the last thing was to reiterate that the work is warranted and to call them if there are ever any issues, which said to me that he really cares. I've now got a chimney that's clean inside and out, weather-sealed, to code and safe, and no longer crumbling, plus I've got ballpark numbers on what my future plans will cost. read more

Got inspection (143$) done and just found the chimney was sealed off. Took it off and is working normally. Then got an estimate basically to redo flashing(900$), water repellant (350$) and other stuff, totaling close to 2k. These are nice to do but not required so decided not to get it done until I save up. Pretty transparent and quick service! Just didn't realize it was gonna be this expensive. After several branches came down during a windstorm, we had some damage to several shingles and lost a vent cover. While the roofer was fixing issues, he mentioned the countersunk flashing around the chimney was starting to separate and recommended we contact a chimney specialist/mason to address it. I put out a yelp request for quote and we got a few interested companies. Enter Next Level Chimneys. Next Level quoted us a very fair price for several issues beyond the flashing. Our damper was broke, our chimney was covered in moss, and there was other miscellaneous work that needed to be done. Next Level Chimenys did a great job sweeping our chimeny, installing the damper, pressure washing the chimney, applying a 10 year sealant on the brick, replaced the caps, then cut out the old flashing out and installed new countersunk flashing that matched the color of the roof. We had purchased home almost two years ago. It came with a pellet stove in the living room. The stove worked fine, but we wanted to get a chimney inspection if anything for a piece of mind. Speaking with Pat on the phone he stated the pellet stoves usually burn very clean and don't usually require a sweeping but offered an inspection within a reasonable time. He showed up promptly and inspected the stove itself, but was concerned about the chimney setup we had. The chimney was for a wood burning store that was most likely there before the pellet stove. On the roof he showed me a lot of buildup that had accumulated for some time. He was surprised we weren't getting smoke in the house, but mostly we didn't have a chimney fire.
