My wife & I were in your area for the weekend and ate at your Chimney Rock Inn Flemington restaurant location. On Friday evening we sat at the bar & had, I believe, Virginia (tall young lady) as our bartender/waitress and were so well treated that we returned on Saturday for a late lunch early supper. We were quite impressed when Virginia who was the manager on duty remembered us and made it a point to come by to say hi. As we enjoy sitting at the bar, Lexi was our waitress/bartender and once again were so well treated that we returned on Sunday. Chimney Rock's much anticipated arrival to Flemington is finally here! I've been waiting for this place to open up. My mom and I decided to check it out on a Tuesday night around 6:30pm. For starters, the place was absolutely PACKED! Guess that's what happens when a new place opens up in town! Thankfully, the wait for two people was only about 25 minutes. We were seated in the side dining room, which I was actually really glad about because the restaurant was pretty loud. I found the side room to be much quieter. The menu is extensive. They have everything from pizza, to sandwiches, to pasta. Since Chimney Rick is known for their pizza, we decided to stick to the basics. Our server was so sweet and friendly! She really made the experience that much better. She had great suggestions and clearly communicated our requests to the kitchen. We originally tried to order a large pizza that was half buffalo chicken/half Mediterranean. However, we were told this could not be done due to them having different bases. After some back and fourth, we ended up getting half buffalo chicken/half veggie with whole wheat dough. We both ordered glasses of sangria as well. The first sip had me wondering... was there even any alcohol in it? My mom agreed that hers also tasted as if there was no alcohol in it. The pizza was good. I liked the veggie whereas my mom seemed to prefer the buffalo chicken. I will say it was nice that they offered whole wheat and gluten free as options as this can sometimes be hard to come by. I definitely enjoyed the meal but is it something I'd crave? Not really. There wasn't anything that really made Chimney Rock's pizza stand out from other pizza places. What I will say does stand out is Chimney Rock's atmosphere which seems to be a step up from other chain restaurants in the area (aka Friday's, Chilis, Applebees, etc). So, all in all, I'd give Chimney Rock a solid 3.5 stars. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Chimney Rock Flemington. --larva found in steamed broccoli. We have eaten here many times, generally good food and good service. But tonight I ordered mac n cheese, with steamed broccoli on the side. All was good until we discovered small live larva on the steamed broccoli stalks. I had only eaten one or two pieces. So be very careful. I was really excited to have something new open up in Flemington. Really wanted to like this place. Service was ok but the food was not so good. Just wasn't memorable. Fiancé and I stopped by here for dinner before heading home. The place was packed, but there was ample seating and groups were seated rather quickly. For appetizers we ordered the fried calamari with the spicy sauce and it was delicious. The calamari was fried to perfection and the sauce was actually spicy. For my meal i ordered the shrimp pasta which had spinach and tomatoes. The dish was good and refreshing however, it had no flavor or taste what so ever. Like there was no garlic or sauce. So I ended up using the spicy tomato sauce that came with the calamari and the dish was perfect. My meal also came with soup. So I ordered the Italian wedding which was good, but somewhat lacked enough salt. My fiancé ordered a burger and pirogies as an appetizer. He thought both were pretty good. My wife and I wanted to treat ourselves after being without power for most of the week so we went to the Rock in Flemington. They had a crispy chicken sandwich as their Thursday Night special. It might have been one of the worst things I have ever had in a restuarant. Virtually no chicken on the sandwich, lees than half a chicken tender at Chick-fil-A worth. Left disappointed and feeling ripped off. I guess when they do a special they cut back on the quality and quantity. Will think long and hard before going back. read more

New location for a business that has been in NJ for a long time. This place is huge with a wood interior rustic feel. Good local NJ craft brew selection as well as other New England options. Martini was made well. Nachos average. Cowboy burger ordered medium rare came out well done - sent back & at that point found out that they won't cook burgers less than medium! Artisan pizza is very good. Giving them 4 stars since what was good was very good. The bad I'll give them a pass on since tonight is the first night they are open at this location. read more

We just had our son's 1st birthday party there today; which was fitting after having our rehearsal dinner and baby shower here! Everyone was raving about the food and the waiters. The new Chimney Rock Inn is HEAVEN for anyone living a gluten free lifestyle. I had the pleasure of grabbing an early dinner with my family and some friends at this cozy spot. Upon entry, the restaurant resembles a snow lodge: large wood beam vaulted ceilings, fire places, large communal bar and comfy booths. We shared an appetizer and each ordered an entree. The portions were huge!!! You can def split a meal with someone and still walk away entirely full. In relation to accessibility, the restaurant seems to be up to code with ADA regulations. The bathroom is easily accessible and the tables are configured so that walkways around the restaurant are large enough for wheelchairs or other accessibility devices. The only hiccup noticeable to me was the design of the booths. They are not easily maneuverable for people with gross motor needs; I'd opt for a table with chairs instead. All in all, I'm excited about Flemington's new restaurant. They have a great new menu that caters to diverse nutritional needs and an attentive staff who deliver quality service to all patrons. I'm not from around these parts and was passing through for the night on a hunting trip. This place had everything I needed, cold IPA beer and chicken wings. I drove around to other places that didn't even have a bar to sit at or wasn't open or didn't serve food at a brewery. The food was disappointing. The French Onion soup was watery. The cheesesteak was so/so. Guacamole was okay. They also charge you a convenience fee to use your credit card, or how convenient they have an on-site ATM that charges 2 bucks. Major disappointment. Brought my parents here because we drive by all the time and it's always packed - which is usually a good sign. Unfortunately, the food was gross. The menu seems promising but the quality is not there. We were told Chimney Rock is known for its pizzas, so we got one to share. It was a pre-made/frozen school lunch type of crust with ketchup-like sauce (Dominos is better). Other food was heavy and greasy, not very flavorful. Our server was great and the one cocktail one of us got was very good, so can compliment both the service and the bar, but the food was mediocre at best. Olivia's Surprise 21st Birthday Party!! I just have to give chimney rock Inn in Flemington a total thumbs up. I had my daughter's 21st surprise birthday party there and everyone from the manager down to servers and bus staff were the utmost in professionalism and courteous! I literally gave them two days notice and Alese pulled everything together! From the moment we entered the restaurant the manager met us and just let us know that she was handling everything and checked in with us as well. I also need to mention about the food it was awesome very large portions and very tasty. I would recommend the chimney rock inn to anybody having a family dinner to an event. Great local restaurant that finally opened a location in Flemington. I have never been disappointed with the service or quality of food here. The staff is always very pleasant and welcoming to my wife and I when we go here. They really make us feel like family whenever we come in. As far as food there is a pretty extensive menu with a little bit of something for everybody. I've had almost everything on their menu at one point or another, grown up grilled cheese, Chipotle Chicken Sandwich, brisket sandwich, ribs, lasagne, pizza, and burgers are all great. I really really enjoyed this restaurant! They have a regular menu, gluten free menu AND a vegan menu! I truly enjoyed the food and the service! I got the black bean burger, which was so moist and full of flavor! My other got the eggplant parmesan which was very good as well. We just got waters so I cant say anything about the drinks. after months of avoiding this place, i decided to stop in and see what's new. The menu is disappointing. We decided to just get apps. The best of everything we got were the mozzarella sticks. They weren't the generic frozen ones. Seemed home made with panko breading. The wings were small and soaked in oil. I ordered them well done and they were crispy, however they were served to us on a plate of oil so they soaked all that oil up and were soggy. The chicken spring rolls were soggy and disgusting. The loaded rock fries were very enjoyable. My friend ordered a french onion soup and a salad. She loved the soup, but she sent the salad back because it was bland and didn't have the chicken on it that she ordered. They were kind enough to take the salad off the bill. Stopped in for lunch at the bar. Bar service was good. Ordered a small pizza with sausage. Not sure what the hype is about their pizza. Plain sauce of really cheap dough. It's not even dough. Unfortunately, all the reviews about service issues were on par with what I experienced. We had a large party---so I know things can get crazy, but when we got there we sat for over half hour without any drink orders being taken. The waitress comes over and asks if we'd like to order something to eat....we said "yes! and a drink would be nice too"....So then instead of saying okay, she said, "well I had to take care of the guys over there at that table and you were late"....I love when waitstaff blames me for their negligence....Three or four servers then came out and started shouting in our ears orders that the belonged to a different table (which they should have known since "we were late").... The pizza is edible but nothing special. Toppings were miniscule, and the margherita pie sure didn't taste like fresh mozzarella. We also looked at the taps and saw that one beer on the menu wasn't on the taps. Specifically asked the waitress if that beer was available and she insisted it was. Then she came out 10 minutes later to tell us that the beer wasn't available anymore. She further made excuses by telling us that this is her first table of the day and she didn't know.... Hate excuses!!!! just apologize and move on. Note to all management of all restaurants---tell your staff what is and isn't available BEFORE they start waiting tables. I know they haven't been open very long and it shows, hopefully they get it together. I stopped here with my daughters and was so disappointed in the whole experience. The waitress was acting like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. She did not bring our food out, never checked to see how it was or ask if we wanted another drink. I never saw a manager and blame them for the poor quality of the wait staff. If they would take the time to interact with the customers they would very quickly see that they have some obvious issues with the way the staff is interacting with customers. Wow--what a 180 from our crappy lunch near Watchung yesterday. Host was nice, menus provided, pleasant server. Allergies taken seriously--manager brought over to go over what we had ordered, and actually knew every ingredient used in each food item--a rarity. We ended up with a pretzel--which was more a whole wheat but crunchy version than our standard Bavarian style. Still, chewy & crunchy $ salty, served with a cheese sauce the kids rejected & a guilden's type mustard. We skipped the kid menus & ordered a starter-sized rib, which was 6"x8". Sweet with cinnamon, allspice, cloves, brown sugar, molasses, but NOT sticky. Tender, fall off the bone, no leftovers. Fish & chips: WOW! A beer batter that is light! Flaky! Makes Japanese tempura look thick! Also served with thick fries, which were tasty w/the malt vinegar. The cod was tender, just right. Gyro: I know-why get this? I had a craving. It was ok, but we should have gotten a pie instead (today's offerings: guiness beef, corned beef, chicken). Were we not stuffed, there's a bear shaped gelato dessert for $5. The craft beer menu shows calories per 12 or 16oz pour. We had a grand time, filled my bottomless pit family for $60 prior to tip, and we left HAPPY.
