Frank's is a clean, well run large pizza/restaurant that caters to family and fun. It's consistently good and the meals are good as well. It is located in the "quiet" area of the large ShopRite plaza, so parking is pretty good. My preference for pizza is in town at Toscana but a lot of folk frequent Frank's. Worth a try! read more

I made a good choice! Just passing through for the night at the holiday INN and saw these guys delivered. They were here with my food in FOURTEEN MINUTES! Talk about ridiculously fast! My steak and cheese was DELICIOUS and my fries were hot and crispy which is kind of amazing. Delivery folks never remember my condiment requests so I was happy to see they brought me a whole pile of ketchup packets. I made a quick pitstop to Franks on my way back to the office. I had quite the appetite and they had a great selection to choose from. I ended up going with my usual slice of plain and then decided on the tortellini slice - it seemed like it would be very filling. The plain slice had a soft base with a subpar structure. The decent sauce and good cheese were able to slightly make up for things. The slice also had a great, bready, fluffy crust. The tortellini slice was on the oily side, but the plentiful cheese and delicious garlicky flavor really did make it a good one. read more

Good pizza, probably one of the best "new york" slice you can get here in jersey. Crisp crunchy bottom that can hold up to a pizza fold. Sauce is a little lacking in flavor, but the cheese they use more than makes up for it. Service is definitely lack luster or atleast they surely express their discontent to those whose skin shade goes above beige. The price is also a little on the higher end. Two slices and a coke will cost you about 13 bucks. Overall a decent spot if you want to grab a quick slice and go. read more

Passing through, we stopped here for lunch. We were very happy with our experience. First of all the food was great. We had cheesesteaks. I loved mine. So did everyone else in our party. The meat was the good kind (a more expensive cut) the bread wasn't amoroso but was still good and they toasted the whole thing perfectly. I love it when a restaurant does that. Nice attention to detail. We had a small glitch with an order and they fixed it right away with no problem. The service was excellent. Louise took good care of us and was very personable. She was there when we needed her but didn't hover (which I hate) The restaurant itself was decorated very nicely with art from a local studio. As an artist myself I appreciate it when a place of business cares enough to hire a real artist to decorate their walls. Again, this was a nice attention to detail The restrooms also were clean as was the dining area. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be back. Five stars. read more

Our go-to place for Italian food in the area. We rarely have pizza but enjoy their menu. Tonight was fried calamari, chicken Marsala, shrimp Fra Diavolo, salad and garlic bread. All very good. Hubs, the boy and I decided to go out and grab Italian tonight. I was craving a vodka primavera pasta and that specific dish is really hard to find. We started out somewhere else with a 45min wait only to find out the entire place has one high hair and it was in use. Enter Frank's to save the day! We have been many times over the past three years to grab one or two of their wide assortment of slices. Always on point with the combos and they are always fresh. Tonight was our first sit down experience. It was every bit as delightful as their quick bites. We were sat and greeted immediately by Donna, who seems to be the local "Mom". She was handling the whole restaurant on a Saturday night, and training to boot. Believe me, she's a pro and barely broke a sweat. She made our experience exquisite, always anticipating our needs and making recommendations on what the best food was and how to have it. A true professional! We ordered the garlic knots, two dinner specials, and a couple of slices for Hubs and the boy. Plain and Honey Mustard chicken. Portions are huge. Even the complimentary salad and garlic bread that comes with entrees were large and fresh. They came with our drinks in about two minutes. The place wasn't packed but there were 7 other tables and more coming in the door. It was impressive to watch our server handle everything with ease. I ordered a pasta dish with vodka sauce, asparagus and mushrooms. The sauce was rich and creamy with onions and bacon and the veggies were cooked perfectly. The pasta was cooked a little overdone but with the rich flavors of the dish it didn't detract at all. Again, the portion size was enormous and I could barely eat more than half though I wanted to gobble the entire plate. Hubs had a Spinach manicotti special. Again the Portion was huge and cooked very well. The whole thing was covered in delicious melty mozzarella and tomato sauce, then stuffed with lots of ricotta and spinach. Both dishes hit our cravings square in the jaw. The takeaway (they also do lots of takeout) is simply this: Are you looking for delicious Italian food in a warm friendly local joint with great service and great value? When I mentioned that he should be wearing gloves and not touch my food with his bare hands and he told me it's ok, I make the dough. They can't make a sub either. 4 stars only because I've been here a couple times and find it to be a great choice for Italian food and quick slices in the area. But this time around was upsetting. I came for a quick slice with my dad after picking him up from the nursing home. As always, we looked at the slices on the counter and ordered 3. Sat down and immediately a young waitress comes over while I'm trying to get him settled in and passive-aggressively shoves menus in our faces and asked if we wanted to see the menus, after seeing us order at the counter. For the rest of our time here, 5 really young waitresses sat at the table diagonal to us and shot us dirty looks, I'm assuming because we aren't here for a full waited meal. I did not feel welcome and having my disabled father with me makes it already a difficult task. read more

This is my go to takeout Italian place. We usually get dinners there. Their chicken, pasta al forno and seafood dishes are all great. i leave out the veal since i am particular on getting quality veal. Theirs is good for the level of restaurant they are, but not top notch. A couple of call out dishes that I recommend; any chicken dish, cavatelli and broccoli, pasta with garlic, oil, and anchovies (trust me), eggplant parm, their clams, and shrimp dishes. Taco pizza (again, trust me). Otherwise their pizza has a thicker crust, its good, but not my fave. Also be forewarned that their calzones are refilled - a big warning for those calzone purists out there. They are also incredibly fast. a handful of dinners can be done and ready in 10-15 minutes. I do not know how they do that without help from Dr. Emmett Brown or HG Wells. One wish is that their special were readily accessible via website or facebook. I find when i pick food up, that there is a dish that would have been good to order. When I ask on the phone, it is a bit ponderous to have them read them out to you. The times I have eaten there, the service is great. They are attentive, nice and very kid friendly. read more

Very casual, local Italian pizza joint. Surprisingly good pasta dishes (red and white clam sauces are very good). Everything is fresh. The servers - and other staff - are always very nice and really take care of the kids. Same at the Phillipsburg location off Route 22. The pasta lunch specials are great values at under $8.00. They used to do a family meal featuring veal and chicken scallopini with linquini, soup, garlic bread and salad for $34 that fed our family of 7. What a value! So sorry they stopped offering it. If they brought it back, we'd go every weekend without question. You have to try their wings. They are sauceless, so they're basically mini fried chicken pieces with a crispy breading that really hits the spot when you're jonesing for some grease. Only downside is that their pizza is not great. For a great pizza, go to Famiglia's in Bloomsbury - best pizza in the area by a mile. For more upscale (and more expensive) entrees, try Pisano's in Stewartsville. read more
