I'll admit, after word of mouth and reviews on here, I was prepared for the worst. The experience I had was almost the complete opposite of that. It was amazing. It didn't wow me, but I did really like it. To start off, it has a nice, warm atmosphere to the room, but there was any sound proofing so it was a little echoey, but not to much to get annoying. I thought it was like a mix between Chili's and Cracker Barrel. Our waitress was out our table to greet us within two minutes. She was really nice and attentive to our needs. Our drinks were out in a few minutes. For a starter, I got pierogies. They came out about 20 Minutes after I ordered but they were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Well worth the wait. 5 minutes after they were brought out, our waitress came back saying that the food shops be out shortly and asked for refills on drinks. Soon after our food came out and looked great. Our waitress checked in on us a minute after and multiple times throughout the meal to make sure every was ok, which is was. Overall, I would definitely come back, maybe try the pizza, which I hear is pretty good, despite people not liking the place. One other thing, the dirty tables were busses efficiently. Great place to go if you're trying to clear your bowels... very greasy food and if you like wings, make sure to never order theirs, you will be disappointed for sure. The service has always been good but it doesn't make up for the grease soaked food and hours lost sitting on the toilet. read more

The pizza here is really good and since it's thin crust It's worth your money to just get a large for yourself and then bring it home if you have extra! My personal favorite is the pizza with the pretzel crust! It's comes with this delicious cheese sauce that is to die for. Long time fan of the Boundbrook location, so we were excited to get one in the Flemington area. Unfortunately it is nowhere near as good ... yet. The tossed salad for $4.99 was half frozen and overpriced. The gluten-free pizza was a winner. Probably the best we've had in the area. The standard pizza was cooked too long and slightly burned, which made the uninteresting tomato sauce on it even less interesting. The buffalo chicken pizza was okay, but again more a muddle of flavors than a cool experiment. Service was fine and they did take the salad off the check. We are hoping that in a year or two they learn how to match the quality of their other locations, but I would recommend a number of other local places before going here. Why wait for average food when you can get better food just minutes away? read more

BEWARE of credit card fees attached to the bill. When I questioned the extra fees the waitress said we offer a "DISCOUNT" or cash....... I then told her to adjust the bill to reflect the "cash discount" and she looked at me with a blank stare. I had to give her a quick math lesson that there is a "surcharge" for using a credit card and it is NOT a "discount"........ She also explained that the owner would deduct 2% off all her tips that were paid on a credit card. I never saw a sign or a notation on the menu about the use of a credit card surcharge prior to ordering. The good news is that our food was good and the service was also attentive. read more

Had a wonderful time Friday night here! Reservations are a must, but so worth it! Chimney Rock is responsible with COVID and clearly keeps the place clean and safe. I had the Grown Up Grilled Cheese... it was amazing. Everything from the apps to the desserts were served timely and were delicious. Ordered food from here on a Saturday night. More so 3 pies and 50 wings as well. They told us that they were backed up and it would take an hr for us to get our food. Btw we ordered take out, my family went to the restaurant before the hr and they paid and brought the food home and everything was literally cold, from the pizza to the wings. It was all unenjoyable and nobody in my family enjoyed it at all. The next day I called and spoke with a manager and explained to him what the situation was and he politely asked me what I wanted to do and I asked for a full refund back and that's what he did. We ordered the Big Rock Burger which was 1/2 pound charbroiled certified angus beef burger, lettuce, pickles, onions, tomato & cheese w/ a special sauce. Served on a sesame seed bun with fries. The gluten free pizza was delicious! If anyone is familiar with brazi bites it tastes just like them :) Can't wait to try all of the other GF options as well. My only complaint was that while waiting for a table at the bar, the bartender was VERY slow- he seemed to be running around getting food from the kitchen, etc. It was hard to get anyone's attention since there were only two bartenders at the time. On the plus side, our actual server was very good/friendly once we sat in the back dining area (which is very bright and airy!) We will definitely be back soon. read more

We stopped going and give them another shot. Wasn't worth it at all. after asking the waitress a few menu questions I got the hint the food isn't freshly made. Lots of pre packaged and heated items. We have lived in the area for 5+ years, and this is the kind of place we have been waiting for! We say at the bar and they put the New Jersey Devils hockey game on. The beer selection was great, friendly staff, and we enjoyed the food. We got french onion soup and the buffalo calamari, which we definitely recommend! Not sure why 1st review wasn't posted. Wonderful experience with putting on a special 100th birthday party. Management and staff were so helpful and pleasant and the food and service for 50 was perfect. Now with Covid, takeout has been very successful for us as well. We have our favorites like the sloppy pig and homemade chicken pot pie, which make the 20 minute trip home with no loss of quality. Nice to have the option of in house dining back too! We've been customers of Chimney Rock Inn for years. Flemington.is our go to location. Keith who is one of the managers is awesome. I've been having an issue with the AP when I place our weekly order. As soon as I bought it to his attention he took the time to go through the issue with me to see what recommendations he could give to improve the AP. We will now be placing our to go orders with Flemington. I'm so impressed with how Keith took the time with me today to go through the issues I have with their AP. He told me from the begging that this is not his area of expertise. Chimney Rock has shown time and time again how they care about their customers input in reference to their business model. Came here for an outdoor comedy show. There were a few glitches in the online ordering system, but the food was really delicious. Margarita pizza was tasty, chicken spring rolls were crunchy, and the calamari delicious also. We were able to purchase white claw which is hard to find. Everything went well. My husband and I tried Chimney rock in Flemington for the first time. Nice look inside. Nice crowd to watch Sunday football. Server was terrible and ruined he experience for us. We asked for some suggestions and he had none to offer. My husband asked about the ribs, the server had never tried them and gave a complete opposite description of the dish. Going with his description we ordered the ribs. Complete disappointment and totally opposite his description. Never checked on us after our food came. Never offered refills on drinks. My suggestion would be if you live in the area take the extra time and travel to there other location. read more

If they think it's ok to sneak charges on the check I have to think they wouldn't have issues doing sneaky stuff with the food. I get costs are going up and that businesses need to pass on those costs. It is what it is. But.... What I won't accept is when a business does it without being overt and honest. After finishing our meal tonight, I find they snuck a new "transaction fee" for using a credit card onto the bill. No real warning was provided. Sure, there is a "small print" version of a sign by where they put up ads for specials, but this is about as unnoticeable as their respect for their customers. And yes there are two prices on the check, but I only see this after it's too late. I don't have an issue paying more to offset costs and to support a local...business. But I'm done with this place for now. If they are being sneaky on the check, I don't want to think about the sneaky stuff happening with the food. I don't trust 'em anymore. read more

I really liked this place the first time I tried it because they had vegan pizza with dairy free cheese, but I came back for a second time and was extremely disappointed. I got a gluten free vegan pizza and noticed that the cheese did not look like vegan cheese and the waitress went to double check and said it was vegan. Being vegan for years it is very easy for me to distinguish vegan cheese from non vegan cheese and if I ate the pizza I would have gotten very sick. This was my second visit to the Chimney Rock and I was as disappointed as the first! The first visit I had some of the famous pizza!!! Well compared to even the worst pizza in town it still sucks and is extremely overpriced! The second visit I opted for a burger which was a huge disappointment!!!!
