This was our first time trying this place. We go somewhere else that unfortunately is closed on Wednesdays. My son is sick and wanted wonton soup. For wonton soup and fried rice it was almost $20. The pork fried rice have really good taste to it. We really enjoyed. It was our first visit there as for the egg rolls we did not care for them at all. The kind of greasy they taste. They didn't taste like an egg to us. They were fast and friendly as well. They also have a few tables and chairs where you can just sit there and eat. I have visited this restaurant off and on again since 2016. The quality of the food has suffered over the years and I'm thinking Panda Express across the street is the better option. My last meal on the 26th of Dec. was overcooked, the Orange Chicken has gristle or bone remnants in it, and the beef teriyaki was tougher than a leather shoe bottom. The staff is friendly enough, but for the quality and price, you would be better served to goto P.E. or from next door to Publix and get frozen Chinese entrees. read more

I work in Port Orange, and I don't get a scheduled lunch break so I order a lot of my meals delivered so I can eat on the fly. Today I was trying to decide what I wanted to eat and this restaurant popped up as a recommendation so I decided to try it. I didn't know what to expect because these small places can be hit or miss, but the reviews seemed favorable. I ordered pork lo mein, boneless pork ribs, their egg drop/wonton soup combo and an eggroll. The meal came with plenty of sauces and utensils along with a small bag of fried noodles. The food is good. Not great, good. And, the reason I took a couple of points off is while I liked the food, it left a "time to change the oil" aftertaste... on all of it. The egg roll and the fried noodles were also a bit stale. The combo soup was hot and hearty and probably what I enjoyed most although it could have used maybe a little more salt or seasoning. Like I said, I liked the boneless pork ribs which were moist and very flavorful, as well as the lo mein, but that aftertaste kinda stayed with me... So much so that I had to eat the meal in small stops and starts and couldn't really "dig in" because that "used oil" taste would become overwhelming after a few bites. Would I order again..? Price was reasonable for delivery. Serving sizes were appropriate. But I'm not sure... Maybe after an oil change...? read more

Really solid performance. Done on time, all items included in to-go. Everything was great. Chow mein is called Lo Mein in these parts, so I was educated on that. Smart order taking there. The Chinese restaurant we used to go to (Asian Sauce Bowl) is under new management. The new owners raised the prices. $12 for soup is ridiculous and the menu is very confusing. Enter the China Chef. We ordered twice so far and we were pleasantly surprised both times. We tried hot and sour soup, eggrolls, dumplings, kung pao chicken and Szechuan beef. All dishes were excellent. The portions were generous and tasty. You get 8 dumplings in an order and they were quite good for take out. The sauces on the chicken and the beef dishes were savory, delicious and well made. The veggies were crisp and cooked to perfection. The chicken and beef were stir fried perfectly. We hope that the quality of this restaurant continues to be as good as our first 2 encounters and we look forward to going back. read more

We've been searching for a good authentic Chinese food restaurant since we moved here from California. This is not that that! We asked if they used MSG and his answer was "just a little". Beware!....They must use a ton of MSG because it took me out for a day and a half. Plus the food is mediocre at best. We've heard nothing but good things and we were excited to try it. Whenever we try a new place we get a bunch of things to sample. This time is no different. We ordered orange chicken, General Tso, House special lo mein, teriyaki beef on a stick, crab rangoon, and two egg rolls. Egg rolls were very chewy, very heavy on the cabbage but overall the flavor was good. The only downside was how chewy they were.. I can't stress it enough. Crab rangoon was very different from what were used to. Every other place fries them up nice and crispy and there's a noticeable amount of crab in the middle, but these I don't think had any crab and the dough was wrong, less like wonton dough more like a very chewy cracker. The teriyaki beef on a stick was good, although dry there was still a nice flavor. Usually the meat is a bit thicker and juicy with a nice sauce, these were thinner and had less sauce so they weren't as good. Out of the appetizers these were the best by far. The orange chicken and the General Tso's chicken were about equal and both had the same downfall. As soon as you open the containers you could smell it... Tofu. For most people tofu wouldn't be a problem but for my husband who was seriously allergic to soy tofu is a problem. Like most allergies once you build up a tolerance for certain things you're okay, but anything new introduced causes problems. He's okay with going out for Chinese food, he won't get sick. Giving him things like edamame or tofu would be equivalent to giving him food poisoning. There's no reason for tofu to be in a chicken dish. I'm not talking about whole pieces of tofu, I'm talking about the sauce itself having a very strong tofu flavor and aroma. The chicken pieces themselves or a lot smaller than other restaurants in the area, no doubt a way to save money. The breading was soggy and the sauce was nice and thick. My husband was sick for the next 2 days with serious stomach pains and constant trips to the bathroom. It baffles me why there would be anything tofu related and a chicken dish that doesn't specifically say that there's tofu in it. Honestly, even if we liked the food here we could never go back because we wouldn't be able to trust that they didn't do this to other dishes. It's a shame really, we both are really liked their lo mein. We ate the lomein before we tried the chicken and we both agree that this was the best thing we ordered, we even prefer it to the other places in the area. Still, just such a shame!! read more

Did my first take out here for lunch today. Bikers everywhere! Weird lady in the lane next to me in a Beetle with the top down and a dead plant in her cupholder?? Weird, but worth the trip. Ordered the food at the counter and it was out before I had time to finish a lesson on my Duolingo app, so it was fast. Got it home and it was still hot enough for little ghosts to fly out when I opened the lid on my Orange Chicken.
