Shrimp fried rice... Had a terrible rancid/old cooking oil taste. Threw it away
    Christy M.

Years ago we loved this place... Today we spend $50 in various foods and threw away all but the crab Rangoon (no crab) & white rice. You shouldn't smell rancid old oil when you walk into an establishment. Sweet and sour chicken very over cooked and no pineapple chunks... Shrimp fried rice was awful. Asked for pan fried noodles and got something we have no idea it was... I love to support small family businesses but this place needs to say goodbye. Two thumbs down

My girlfriend & I got food earlier for dinner, two chicken specials & her Lo mein had onions in it even after we asked for no onion but luckily her looking through the noodles, she found... this. What looks to be a metal shaving. Terrible, just glad she didn't eat it.

Takeout! Vegetable lo mein, shrimp in lobster sauce, sweet and sour chicken and fried rice

Closest Chinese restaurant to my house, so yes I am a fan and love the family who owns it. The restaurant is set up mostly for take out. My family and I have been going here for the last 5-6 years and I don't think I ever saw someone dine in. Very small restaurant on Cass stuck between Hip Hop pizza (which I'm a fan of the pizza, not the name) and I think a Mexican grocery store. The plaza is a bit sketchy but trust China 1. The food is good, the customer service is great and once the owners get to know you.. they are very personable. I'm a huge fan of their egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, spring rolls, hot and sour soup and general Tao. Great portion size and the prices are reasonable. Takeout usually takes about 15 minutes and the food is always warm and fresh. Very convenient, the food is good and the customer service is on point. If you live around here and want good Chinese.. come to China 1

Chicken tastes like fish. As someone who does not like fish it was absolutely terrible. The rice was good but I feel like I wasted my money.

The birria ramen was interesting, the meat was chunked, not shredded and the broth had flavors of clove or cinnamon- was not expecting that and I did not care for it. As for the Cheeseburger buns with the mayo type sauce we all thought they were horrible. The katsu was good still - yay. I used to crave this place and tell everyone about it when it was New Age Noodles and now I have zero desire to go back since the menu change/ rebranding. Sad. RIP.

It has a smaller…read moremenu, but typically offers specials, a monthly brunch, and even occasional "menu takeovers" that get announced on its Facebook page. On our most recent visit, my wife and I started the meal with grandmas eggrolls and steam buns. The buns have a "rotating flavor," which was pork this time around. Both apps were enjoyable, but the steam buns could've used more pork. For our entrees, we ordered the almond boneless dunkers and the pork katsu. Both entrees came with rice, which had above average flavor and texture. The katsu was delicious, and is hands down the best dish I've had here. The dunkers were pretty sizable compared to other restaurants' ABC, but the gravy it came with had an unpleasant, metallic taste. Overall, New Age Noodles is a good restaurant. I will say, I would like to see some of the specials become permanent menu items.
