When you order from here on DoorDash they take ridiculously long to actually have the food ready. I've had door dash drivers cancel on me 3 separate times because they simply don't want to be waiting 45 min for them to have the food ready and I don't blame them. It's been quite awhile since I last visited China China. I'm originally from down South, but it's been many moons since I've visited, which means I don't really remember anything about my visit. My in-laws celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, so what better way to check out China China than celebrating an amazing milestone. My sister-in-law selected this restaurant for this memorable achievement and I'm glad she did because I was pleasantly satisfied. China China is located just off the 805 Freeway heading east. It's one of the many restaurants and shops within the outdoor Terra Nova shopping center. It's close to Bed Bath and Beyond, Big 5, and there's a Chase Bank closeby. China China still has the silo tower entrance with the fluorescent verbiage signifying their restaurant. As you're about to walk through the main entrance, you're greeted by two Chinese dragon statues. Besides China China restaurant, this same building houses a more fast food Chinese food concept called Bento & Noodles. China China obviously implies you're about to grub on some Chinese food. Inside, the decor says the same thing. There's a large painted mural of samurai, geisha, and bamboo. There are bamboo faux plants, decorative fans, statues, and other artwork that adds to the Chinese experience. It's a large restaurant that easily accommodated our party of 16. Props to our waitress, who I didn't get her name, but she's the older Chinese women with lots of enthusiasm. What really made me pleasantly satisfied about China China was the delicious and tasty food. For our party of 16, my sister-in-law ordered 5 plates of each item. Another positive about China China is the amount of food on each dish. Definitely bang for your buck. My sister ordered house fried rice, house chow mein, garlic chicken wings, honey walnut shrimp, and beef steak with asparagus. As I said, it was a heaping amount of food. We've got some big dudes in my family including myself, but we struggled finishing everything and had an exorbitant amount of leftovers. I thought each dish was well prepared and stood out for me. I honestly would recommend that you mimic our order. It was that good. The house fried rice and house chow mein complemented the main dishes. My father-in-law gave his seal of approval by saying that he normally doesn't like noodles, but thought the chow mein was a winner. The garlic wings were finger smacking good and they were very hearty. The star for me was the honey walnut shrimp. If I wasn't watching my girly figure, I would have inhaled as much of that sweet and savory goodness as I could. OMG Satisfying! My wife and I are blessed to have such great examples of a loving, committed, and long lasting marriage. My entire family is blessed to have had the stellar dining experience at China China. We always eat here at least once a week. We normally get the House fried rice and salt and pepper wings. I have tried their sushi and it was good. Huge rolls. They are pretty good. I came in here for a quick lunch. I was greeted immediately which was nice. I was also sat immediately, which is always a bonus. My server was really nice. Ive had this spot twice due to my girlfriend's recommendation. Both times the food was great. The teriyaki beef had nice thick pieces of steak and not just some shredded beef with sauce on it. Have been frequenting this restaurant for 20 years it was great but over time its Diminishing it seems about the time they partnered with Bento & Noodles when its taken the biggest turn not for the better, As it slumped we still went thinking it was just this time but still went back , although the food was becoming just ok we known "Jenny" for yrs. we had B-days, First Communions, Graduations and just going out. Now it seems there's no pride in there food poorly cooked buffet food . You can only support a business for so long then it's time to cut ties. What a shame. Do not go there! Attitude up the roof from the server. Skinny light skin asian with short hair and blonde highlights. Yanked the bill from the table and crumpled it on my face and walked away. Such immature teenager type of attitude should not be given to a customer. She had asked if I wanted a box and i said we were ok that the white rice was hard and the Kung Pao Chicken had no flavor. I asked if she could remove the item that we didn't like from the bill and she made a nasty face and said that she couldn't do that. Well this was my second time here and it started out really really bad. I walked in and one of the servers sees me walk in alone and points right to the area she is at and then she walks away. I was confused and I assumed that means seat yourself....so I look around and feel super awkward and seat myself. I am at this point waiting for my friend to arrive...10 mins later still no server, no menus, no greeting. I see another server look directly my way so many times and he just wandered off like he didnt...it was so odd...like he was a zombie or something just not aware of what is happening and cant even see that ive been sitting there a while. My friend walks in and I had already informed her via text that I cant order her a drink because it's been a while and I haven't even seen a server or menu yet. She then immediately asks for a menu as she makes her way towards me. The initial server acts like she didn't know what was going on and tries to make it seem like she is confused. I think she thought because I was alone, that I was doing take out and never once asked me if I was dining in or wondered why I actually sat at a table instead. After that we were seated at a different table and a nice waitress helped us. She knew I was upset without me saying much about the situation. I did enjoy the food I ordered with my friend though. We had the Kung pao chicken, Mongolian beef, crunchy crab and cheese roll and dynamite roll. I'm not a regular at this place but I go there often enough. I have to admit their food is always good and their staff is excellent. They at least come around once about a refill on my drinks which is a huge plus for me and how much I tip. Their food is good, not excellent in my opinion thus the reason for the lack of one star. To me some of the menu items are a hit or miss. For example I enjoy my dishes like teriyaki or sweet and sour to be mixed into my food not just simply poured on top of the meat, but that's my preference. read more

I had the 2 item Bento Box. It was my 1st time here so I was being safe. I ordered the General Tao's Chicken and Spicy Crab Roll. The Crab Roll was not spicy (maybe she gave me the wrong Crab Roll. Also what was supposed to be General Tao's Chicken tasted more like Sweet and Sour Chicken with Onions and Cile Peppers added. I have had General Tao's Chicken many times before, the best I have had was in Princeton New Jersey where it was prepared with a brown sauce and had a light sprinkling of Sesame Seeds added and the vegetable used was brocolli not the onions that I just got served today which is signature to Orange Chicken. Those of you that have read my post's before know I give honest post's and a majority of them are positive, but I could not and would never lie to you guys. This is my absolute FAVORITE sushi/Chinese place in all of San Diego county, possibly even in all of California! The food is delicious, the staff SO FRIENDLY, and the service is amazing. They can get busy in the evenings and on weekends, but it's SO WORTH IT. I guess you could consider my husband and I "regulars", as we come here at least twice a month. We try other places, too, but always end up coming here because we love it. The sushi is always fresh and the orange chicken always zesty. The prices are great and portions are generous!
