We tried China Buffet on a Monday for dinner and here is what we found: The restaurant was a little shabby but it did not effect the overall place. The food was not very good - it looked ok but had very little taste. The food was fresh but not as good as every other Chinese restaurant we have been to in the area. I used to come quite often cause my parents actually like this place. The place hasn't changed much. No frills. Most people come for the seafood but we come because we're too lazy to cook at home haha. I'm not a huge fan because it tends to get pretty heavy and greasy but I def have my favorites. The one thing I eat the most here are the string beans. Gotta get the veggies in. They have a variety of chicken dishes like General Tso's, orange chicken, and kung pao chicken, but I tend to go with the teriyaki chicken. It's actually grilled so there's a good char flavor on it. The two fish they have is really the same sauce, just one steamed and one fried. A lot people go for the clams and the mussels and for dinner, there's crab legs, although very very skinny ones :P Of course, lots of fried food like wings, fried dumplings, and even fried donuts. They have a sushi section, but I rarely touch it. String beans all the way. One dish here I always find surprising is the roast duck. It's actually really flavorful. One thing's for sure, this spot is much much better than other of these "Chinese" buffets around the area, even the fancier one in Del Amo. read more

Wow. Wanted a variety of food and decided to try this place. I don't know if it was the time off day but everything was so fresh. Most Chinese buffets there's at least one dish that is dry, over cooked or old. Not so here. I took a sample of about 1/3 of their main dishes. Not one item was bad, although the General Tso chicken was not to my liking, it was fine. We were seated right away, dishes were cleared very quickly and everyone was pleasant. If ever in this area and undecided as to where to eat, we will be back. Best Chinese buffet we've had. read more

Was in the area running an errand and decided to give this place a try since it was not super busy. 11.99 for AYCE lunch buffet which included sushi (but not a drink) is a bargain in this area! Unfortunately, sushi did not seem fresh and the food was just OK (not bad but not great). Service was ok, too. The server sat me down fairly quickly and once I placed my drink order they never came around to check up on me until it was time for the bill. read more

We have eaten there for many years and the food has always been great. Today, however, Friday Jan. 6, 2023, at noon, the food was bland, no flavor at all in any of the dishes. I don't know whether it was a new cook/chef or what but it was awful. I hope they get the former chef back soon. read more

Basic buffet. Just an average asian buffet slightly Americanized. Nothing to truly rave about here except if you are starving and craving the world, which I tend to experience quite often, then this place isn't a bad choice. I like how I can pretty much satisfy a little bit of each craving, from sweet to savory, to salty and spicy, crunchy and chewy, seafood and meats.. So many options! The flavor isn't too bad; I like to get small bites on a sample plate first then get more of what I liked the best for round 2 :) Overall, this place is great for large groups so everyone can pick and choose what they want to eat. The service isn't too shabby, the staff is generally nice. The place is pretty big but they sure do cram a lot of people in there. The parking is okay, I don't usually have a problem finding a spot. The prices are fair. The food is average but then again I don't really expect much whenever I do end up going to any buffet. Nonetheless, I'm still a fan of this place. I was there on Thursday May 25 2023 for a graduation ceremony when we initially walked in we were met with the Manager Eric Sun I walked in with people of color and he was rude and disrespectful then a separate family yes they were fair skinned and he treated them with up most respect and a very warm welcoming. I work in a restaurant myself and I already know when prepping food you are supposed to wear gloves but his workers were wiping there nose and touching the food. Another family of colored people walk in and they ask them if they are with us. All in all please don't waste your money in this place it was so sad that we got treated this way. I'm not usually a person who likes to give bad reviews, but don't spend your money here. Number one the food wasn't cooked right the rice was hard. The services is bad. I had gotten up to get my second plate of food and they were trying to kick me out after 20 minutes. Spoke to the manager and he was rude and unprofessional. Didn't even apologize. He started to yelled at me when I told him the situation. His waitress was rude . Horrible horrible I felt embarrassed. I can't believe after all these years of China Buffet being open, I have yet to write a review. To be quite honest, until recently it had been years since I visited this China Buffet. However thanks to some family occasions and visitors in town, I got to check this place out again. As many have said, this is a typical Chinese buffet where you will find the orange chicken, fried rice and hot and sour soup. One of the things that for me however that makes this place stand out is they have my favorite egg tarts! I love those Chinese egg pies and they always have it hear! They're always piping hot and delicious too. The only caveat however is others love them too and thus they can quickly disappear! As I mentioned earlier in this review, I recently got to try this place out because of some family gatherings. China Buffet does have a separate room where you can have your family/friends party. It's not fully enclosed but yet is nicely separated. They also do a nice job of decorating and putting lots of balloons all around. For the price and food, this place is not that bad and an ok spot for Chinese buffet eats. read more

Horrible service! We were harassed by the server nearly the entire time we were here. Instead of getting our drinks she was more concerned with how many ppl were in our party. All patrons were paid for but she continued to harass us. She continuously took head count and brought over a receipt. We finished our meal and still have not gotten our drinks and she wants to fight over that as well to make sure we paid for the drinks. Clearly some ppl did not have drinks. Came here for a Christmas gathering, Didn't expect much since its a buffet but was pleasantly surprised. They have really good seafood. My favorite is the crab legs, duck, Cajun shrimp and the grilled beef by the bbq, added with some teriyaki sauce, the standard string bean, orange chicken were all good too. You see them bring out new trays of food nonstop, everything tasted fresh. Was stuffed. Best of all only 16.99. read more

This buffet is one of my favorites, I don't come to frequently, but when I do, I ended without complaints! The price for dinner is around $13 + the drink. The service is excellent (the servers are always coming to take away your leftovers)...the flavor is good, the food is fresh (people is always constantly checking temperatures and refilling everything), buffet is always clean and the parking space is huge! read more

So I totally understand holidays can become a little overwhelming while working at restaurants, but that does not give you an okay to be a b**** to the ones going to enjoy a meal with there family! The Host there today was extremely rude and acted a way that was very uncalled for!! Not only did she give the ugliest Attitude!! But when asked for the manager she rudely said they're not here, and proceeded to work, so as we ask her for her name she aggressively says "M A Y A CRUZ want me to write it down for you!!!" AS BAD AS I WANTED TO PULL HER ACROSS THE ROOM I had my whole family there. She needs to be checked and retrained. Customer service is very important and she definitely does not have that!! The food was delicious and overall I had a great time. I don't normally leave reviews but hopefully the manager or the staff sees this so they can do better next time. It's not good to question a customer 4 times after they paid at the register (In front of multiple members of the staff). It comes across like you think I am trying to steal from the restaurant. The same worker asked me twice at the table after I paid with cash. Then another worker gave me someone else's credit card that looks nothing like me. In between, was a mix of meats, veggies, and mystery that left me depressed and embarrassed. Sorry Stomach. Super sorry Taste Buds. Promise to make it up to you. Even "high-end" items like Crab Legs were thin disappointments from "Model Crabs" because they were the skinniest legs I've ever seen. Good for the runway, perhaps, but not for my dinner plate. And the sushi ... oh, the sushi ... just look away. Of course, the prices at China Buffet match the cheap food. So, there may be a market for it. My luck, I happened to go at the most expensive time: Friday night. Monday - Thursday: Lunch: $9.99; Dinner: $11.99 Friday - Saturday: Lunch: $11.99; Dinner: $13.99 Sunday: All day: $13.99 The only reason for a 2nd star for China Buffet was the friendly Chinese-speaking team. This place has really gross mussels covered with cheese. SO gross that it ruined my appetite. However, everything else was quite alright. There are many Asian buffets that typically serve foods that are served here: fried rice, orange chicken, tempura, sushi, many kinds of fish and seafood, different Asian marinated meats, noodles, sour soup, fruits, small cakes, sesame balls, etc. Also a bit of American foods such as pizza and fries. The quality of the food here is a lot better than the other Asian/China buffets. And they have green tea ice cream. read more

Very good selection for the price. If you think this is average I want to know where you've been going. This place has everything. Only problem is it's hit or miss with the freshness. I'm not sure how many cooks are in back but they are always moving the food around and filling in the trays. The waiters are all friendly and pay attention to drink refills and take old plates promptly. I've been there while bday parties use the back room and the noise level stays level.
