Excellent selection. Place is packed and with good reason. A tad pricey but that's to be expected given the vast range of offerings. My brothers and I treated ourselves on father's day and felt it worth every penny.

Entrance with handicap bars for those who need them.

1st off... This is officially my 500th REVIEW! There are so many random Chinese buffets all around the world, but this particular 1 stands out to me because it brings back so many memories of when my mom was still alive while fighting breast and bone cancer. It was 1 of the very last places we ate together as a family back in the early 2000s and I can't help but think about her every time I come to this place. Aside from all that sentimental biased-ness, this China Buffet legit has a great amount of quality and choices for a business that's been around longer than some of the newer spots around here and everywhere. The parking isn't extremely bad because it's huge and it's shared with other businesses. It can get very very understandably crowded during the lunch and weekend rushes. For less than $20, I love coming here during their cheaper lunch times. Fridays, weekends and holidays is when they charge OVER $20, but with more food choices, of course. ALL their food is pretty damn good. Even though they don't have room for a hibachi guy like other places, I dig how they do the hibachi menus in the kitchen and put out the grilled chicken, thin steaks and grilled fish near their excellent choices of sushi! Now... their restroom situation is such a toss up because for the men's, there's only 1 freakin' toilet and the rest are urinals! It absolutely sucks when you eat all that food and you legit gotta go (which is a lot of their customers) and you can't promptly go because there's always that 1 guy just lolligaging on his damn cell phone instead of just taking the Browns to the Super Bowl, dropping off the kids and going on right away for others to do the same! That's like my only gripe along with the regular toss up of if you're going to a nice server who actually has somewhat of a decent personality to mix with at least decent customer service. There ARE servers who are really nice, but it's hard to tell who really stands out positively. ALL IN ALL, I love this place. It isn't perfect, but it feels like home to me. Need to go Number 2 after all that great food still? Do what I do and digest all that greatness and play Harold & Kumar BATTLESHITS at the Best Buy next to this place! LOLOLOL!!! Stay blessed! Love and miss you always, mom!!

Well it's not the poshest place, and at first look, the buffet was total sensory overload. But the food was good- far better than what I'd been expecting for a buffet. There are several vegetarian options including chow mein, really good green beans, fresh corn and green onion pancakes, to name a few. There is a sushi and dessert section in the buffet as well. . Service was mediocre in the private party room.

Current buffet pricing as of May 2025

I've been coming to this Chinese Restaurant for many decades and decided to give- high remarks both in the vast variety of dining choices along with the attentiveness of their staff and a very good ambiance of the very large establishment- which includes 2 dining rooms along with a separate room for both overflow and/or special parties/occasions! Again the food quality is very good- my personal favorites are besides the chow mein, fried shrimps, etc.- are the heavenly sugar donuts. Remember for example if your a senior or not- would you rather pay like $10+ at a burger place or a bit more and really get full- If time permits- I'd go here. I didn't post any food pictures but I did post current pricing and drink prices. I look forward to a return visit.

The restaurant is absolutely adorable, and the decor makes you feel like you've stepped into a cozy Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxing dinner. I ordered the combo with the sashimi bowl and mixed tempura. The sashimi bowl came with salmon, yellowtail, and tuna, and everything was incredibly fresh. The fish was buttery, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The tempura was just as impressive. It included shrimp, cantaloupe, potato, and shishito peppers, all fried to perfection. Everything was light, crispy, and wonderfully crunchy without feeling greasy. I especially loved the variety of vegetables paired with the shrimp. My friend ordered the soba noodles and was kind enough to share a few bites. They were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Honestly, everything we tried was fantastic. Overall, I had a great experience and can't wait to come back to try more dishes from the menu. Highly recommend if you're looking for fresh, delicious Japanese food in a cute and welcoming setting!

After about 10 minutes, a server asked us if we wanted drinks and to order. We ordered. Drinks came out about 5 minutes later. Fantastic. About 30 minutes in, we were wondering what was taking so long with our food (2 katsu sets, age mochi, and shishamo). Nobody checked in on us and we couldn't flag anyone down. One or two servers passed by but were too preoccupied. We were pretty frustrated at around 8:45PM. At 8:50PM, a server comes up to our table (finally) and asks if we wanted to order anything for last call. I told her we did order but never received it. She was shocked and checked on the order. Turns out, the order was never placed in whatever system they have. As an apology, they gave us free edamame, but still never checked on the table again. Our food came out about 10 minutes later. It was okay. When we finished about 15 minutes after the food came out, I had to go to the main entrance to try to get our check. To no surprise, that came out quickly. I was excited to try this place. As stated, the food was okay. The lack of service is inexcusable. I don't suggest this place to anyone. Go somewhere else. There's so many other Japanese spots in Torrance. Try any of those.

It's a small restaurant, and it seemed like reservations are highly recommended, if not required. Luckily, they were able to squeeze us in right before another reservation. The restaurant has an authentic yakitori vibe where the tables are packed pretty tightly and you're dining elbow-to-elbow with other guests. That said, I loved the variety on the menu. They offer a huge selection of grilled, steamed, fried, and cold dishes, so there's something for everyone. The skewers were amazing, and the grilled onigiri was one of my favorites. Everything we tried was really enjoyable and I loved being able to order a little bit of everything! One thing to keep in mind: the rice pot takes about 45 minutes to cook because they start with raw rice. Nicely grilled and had a good amount of flavor. The eel, wings, and liver were also really good. The pork belly was cut pretty thick and had a good balance of meat and fat. The cartilage was another favorite. It was juicy and had a nice crunchy texture. The tsukune was good and had some cartilage mixed in, which gave it a nice texture. It also came with a poached egg that was pretty tasty, although I would have preferred a pasteurized egg. The grilled squid and yaki onigiri were solid as well. A few of the skewers were a little on the salty side. The chicken breast was also a little dry, while the tongue was pretty thick and chewy. The tail was really fatty, but that's kind of expected. Unfortunately, they were out of hearts, which I was hoping to try. Overall, there were more hits than misses and I enjoyed most of what I ordered. Would definitely come back to try some of the other skewers.

The one mix up in our order was quickly set right. Ambience is honestly A+. Very cute setup and everything down to the teacups is adorable. Great vibes for hanging around. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't it. Tare was surprisingly bland, which does not pair well with the fact that it was used so sparingly. Saying tare is bland anywhere, but especially for a yakitori place just feels crazy to me. The chicken skin was nice, but that adjective would have been "amazing" at any other yakitori place. The wings and beef were cooked well for tenderness, but again, the tare was bland and the beef, while good, was sauced with a dead ringer for Mr. Yoshida's. Again, Mr. Yoshida's isn't bad. It's yummy, BUT it's not a flavor I'm bothering to go out for. The sauce B set actually had nice flavors, but for $4, it should not have been plated with a micropipette. None of the sauce components are pricy, and I've seen people sneeze out something more substantial. Just don't get the sweet potato salad. Whatever you're imagining, and there a quite a few ways you could interpret "sweet potato salad," know that's not it. You know when you pop a song lyric into google translate, set it to Aramaic, then translate it back? That. That's the interpretation of sweet potato salad you will get. Just poorly constructed flavor-wise. I don't know whose idea that was but please take it away. I didn't want to be wasteful, but I regret eating it. I've never before regretted eating anything with bacon. At some point, I had to admit the only thing I still felt like ordering was the check and taco bell. Currently writing this while waiting to be seated at another yakitori place in Gardena. Lucky for me, but not Torikizoku, they are suffering in part from being located in an area swimming with great yakitori. It's just not up to par for the area at all.

It is eastablished and celebrated by eaters far more articulate and with wider reach than I. But I recently went, and enjoyed myself quite a bit. Not only because the food was incredible but because the staff made me feel like a special patron. My main server was Julian. He was young, attentive and continued the chain of grand service. But there are two other female servers that make the experience pop with above the line service, I wish I knew their name. The first passed me and my companion Conrad and asked how is your mother? All I could say was she was still alive. I took my mom to mother's day there two years ago and she remembered. That kind of service cannot be reproduce because it was held in heart and intention. I was a welcomed guest. I may not go often but when I do I am remembered. That kind attentiivesness is more than appreciated, it is remembered too! The second server when I leave the place meets my eyes, has a grand wide smile, and said something in Japanese that makes me feel seen in Kyoto. I am engaged in a jovial way by the staff here that is why it is a sincere pleasure to buy the kitchen staff a picther so we can Kanpai!. There sweet way with me is something I cannot undervalue because in doing so I would ignore the kind of hospitatlty that moves mountains closer to the sun. And the food is amazing, like so good, it cannot be ignored espeically when the menu went through changes. The reason why that face immediately hit me in the face was because I used to go for these corn tempura things that were like this amazing crunch in corn. But still what we had was wonderul. Like I would hurt back or strain my inner thigh trying to complain about the food in this place. This time around Conrad and I had their Shabu Shabu. I have had Shabu Shabu before (not here) a few times, not many but this was the first time that Conrad had it. And that face in itself is special, I think. So moving on from that, eating Shabu Shabu was engaging cause you basically create a broth that you are using to cook veggies and meat so images of witches and camping come to the mind, easily. I also took a video of Conrad grinding some sesame seeds, like he was an apothecary or doctor of old times. And I do not care who you are, you are going to enjoy working a bit, especially in a fun way, for your meal. Like who would not like to peel a few cloves of garlic for their herbed chicken? The broth came with pork shoulder and pork belly. We also had some meat and onions on stick--- I think we had pork belly and chicken. We also had a rice ball. We also had thier Gobo Chips. This is something that survived the menu transition that hit every crispy bite. It hit every crispy bite. By this point I know that the food will be fantastic, and the type of food that warms the heart and soul- comfort food. However, this, comfort food is not mine to claim by familiarity because I have not known it since childhood. But I have known it enough to know it as comfortable. I guess, I can claim it as familiar because it became such in the span of years, not decades. Like when can someone claim a carne asado taco to be familiar comfort food when they did not grow up eating it? That is the question that I am left to ponder. This place is a spot I know to be good and trust to deliver on service and quality.

We all got the Ise Shima seasonal lunch special. The meal came with about 12 different smaller dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious and meticulously prepared and presented. From sashimi to tempura, from Somen to Tsukemono, from corn rice to soup to Saba. Etc. it was all delicious. Made with quality ingredients. Service was impeccable. Our server was backed by three managers and a busboy. Everyone was very attentive and polite. What a great experience. The restaurant is modern and well lit. Stylish and clean. I'll certainly come back!

Our waitress was incredibly attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu and the different types of fish. The food was excellent, and every fish we tried was incredibly fresh and naturally sweet. The flavors actually reminded me of the wonderful seafood I had while traveling in Japan. The set menu was absolutely epic, from the appetizers all the way to the light dessert. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. And the chirashi was very, very good--definitely one of the highlights of the meal! I'll definitely be coming back, and I'm looking forward to trying their breakfast next time. Highly recommended!
