3.5/5 not a bad place but not the best. Good choice for when you're in a rush or don't feel like cooking. Basic Chinese place nothing special. Seems like they are trying to hide their ice lol my drink barely had any Ice and my families drink were the same. When we asked for ice we waited for a long time and the server came back with only one cup of ice (for 5 people) when we asked for ice for everyone she said "one at a time" other than that, the food was average. The wontons though were delicious, I wish they would make them a little more crunchier lol price should be lessened because they do not have much of a variety. A lot of the same things just made slightly different. Place is enough space, clean and plenty of parking. FOOD: 13.99 for all you can eat dinner? Not bad for the price. They have a large variety of food which is good for a buffet and their watermelon is actually sweet, usually buffet melons are not. Sushi is okay like most buffets, didn't expect much from that department, but for the price I'm not complaining too much. As for the Chinese food I would say it's more geared towards western audiences with dishes such as walnut shrimp, orange chicken, chow mein, the usual. Not the best but again for the price it's worth it. Some advice for the kbbq short ribs, it was extremely salty. Go lighter on the sodium and aim for a sweeter flavor. Just Google kalbi short ribs for the recipe. SERVICE: The staff should smile at customers but perhaps working for long periods of time has dulled their enthusiasm. Regardless, they will serve you and do their job. VENUE: China Buffet is situated in a large plaza with lots of space for parking. The exterior is clean and the interior is pretty big and capable of hosting large parties. Overall not bad but some improvements can be made. read more

This is my 8th. time to China Buffet all you can eat Chinese food New York style they have a wide variety of food and desserts they've got crab legs octopus different variety of shrimp baked mussel with cheese mushrooms Pizza potstickers sushi Mongolian beef beef and broccoli Korean BBQ short ribs spare ribs fish chow mein and rice and other variety of food they also have two different seating areas + Outdoors. For deserts they have chocolate and vanilla pudding peaches and pineapple Jell-O cookies pastries ice cream so if you like good Chinese food like I do then I highly recommend you to go to this place with your family and have a good dinner. There are many edible hastily prepared food stuffs for your gorging pleasure. $16 buys you all you can eat heating-lamp bathing American Chinese food. You have the usual suspects of orange chicken, beef and broccoli, fried rice and noodles. There are also chicken wings, fries and... Pizza? Yes pizza. Drinks are extra but soft drinks include refills. The place looks decently clean despite the ill inspiring months old sign about the grand reopening still hanging outside. Overall the food is bland and selection various. I skipped some of the seafood offerings and steered clear of the sushi. Not tonight, food poisoning. Well maybe I'm speaking too soon, we shall see. It's more like 3.5 stars and it may be hit and miss. For the price though I can't complain. I see some complaints about rude service or bland bad food but the sushi today was super fresh, the food overall was good for the price. I don't know what everyone expects... they have shrimp cocktail, fried snow crab, salt pepper fried shell on crispy shrimp, which ok those are shelled so they aren't deveined and I don't want to devein them. Some of the basic Chinese food dishes like orange chicken, etc were all fine, not anything extraordinary but it was definitely not bland. The desserts could be better but I like the soft serve ice cream. The lunch is especially a great value. The servers were totally fine and we have been there several times. I ate here twice. One in the evening (Friday Night at and around 6 o'clock) another at the start of their shift. $80 dollars for my 2 Girls and I. The food is bland, service as far as drink, great, the setting is what we all expected from a Chinese Buffet. Right now everything is paper plates and disposable utensils. Everything looks clean and the space feels open and not crowded (at least at the weekday lunch time slot that we went at). They have a large selection of Chinese Food offerings including various seafood, meats, rice, and noodles. Everything was tasty--pretty typical of what American Chinese buffets are known for. Went there today for the 1st time in a while and was quite pleased overall. Ample and easy parking. Pay up front. Reasonable price for all you can eat - app. $18-20 for lunch for senior/adult. After paying, we were led to our seats and presented with a cholid of booth or table. Utensils and drinks (water) were soon delivered. Solied dishes replaced rapidly. Water refilled as needed. Place got fairly busy but not overwhelming. Customers all well-behaved. Foof items refilled fairly quickly as needed. Wide selection. Varied flavors. Wide variety of desserts, including unlimited supply of my favorite authentic Chinese dessert - butterscotch pudding. The trick is to pounce just after a new food item has been replaced so that the food is still warm rather than lukewarm. For a buffet, good value and taste overall. read more

Actually 2 1/2, but a half a star still is not possible. Food was tepid, not hot. Cold food was warmer than it should be. Taste was too similar from dish to dish, although the shrimp items were good. A bright spot really. Service is almost nonexistent. A symptom of Covid, and when you think about it, a buffet post Covid is risky. Ambiance is dated and tired, but that's not why I came here. I came here because I wanted "steam table" Chinese and that is what I got. Not what I remembered, so I'm a little nostalgic for what was. Not sure I'd be back at this price. We were looking for a buffet-style Christmas Eve dinner. We came at his place in Yelp. So we decided to try it. As, soon as we walked, we felt unwelcomed, about four to five female staff members just standing behind the glass window. At no point they greeted us, so I said tanks for 4 please. Cashier:" Your total is $113.00, how are you paying?" NOT friendly at all. When I paid cash, my change was just giving to me, not even counted back to me, like normally a GOOD cashier does. I was NOT given a " Thank you"or anything from here.. She just turned around and went back to her conversation with the rest of the girls that were just standing there doing nothing. The food was NOT FRESH! My son picked up some of the bbq rib and as he was about to take a bite he saw a long hair. We called one of the ladies that are around picking up plates. We showed her and she say " Aww, please wait!" We waited, as everyone else was still eating. No one ever came. Fried Rice was salty and very dry. Not much selection on the dessert area. The area/station where they had the sushi and or cooked meats not fresh and all dirty, just like the other stations. The ambiance was ok, people were celebrating a birthday and another table looked like it was a Holiday celebration. We will not be back and we highly DO NOT recommend this place. There are no restaurants that provide the same consistency and quality every freaking time. The food is always fresh, they make the food in small quantity so it never sits out for too long. THUROUGHLY DISSAPPOINTED. I've been coming to this establishment since i was 4. This place used to be the best chinese buffet in the south bay. Im only assuming that they have changed ownership because the overall quality and ambiance of this restaurant has completely flopped into a giant vat of feces. The food is mediocre at BEST. The last few times i've come here has been SPECIFICALLY for the nostalgia. NOT the food. Not only that, they recently increased their prices. Normally I wouldn't blink an eyelash at $19 a person- if the service and food were justified. Unfortunately, no one even comes to refill your drink at an all you can eat buffet. Surprisingly the food was amazing! Place was pretty clean. Your typical Chinese food buffet but lot of options. Food area very clean food fresh and tasty. If you have that Chinese food craving I definitely recommend this spot. Server sucked a** though. Like your only job is to bring us sodas. She brought us our drinks the first time but evidently when we asked for ice and a refill that was too much ask. I still tipped her because I understand they need the tip money to survive but come on now you have the easiest job we just asked for a refill. But overall pretty good and we will go back. Not a good buffet at all. The food was burnt out overcooked. The ginger fish was cold like the heating wasn't on to keep the food warm. My kids got sick from the food which I notified the owner and manager several times and was never contacted back. We've been visiting China Buffet for many years, then Covid hit. Unlike most buffet places, China Buffet rebounded and reopened. Just like before, the food was good as well as the service. I must say that their hot and sour soup is really good. You can watch the sushi chefs at work making countless rolls, then placing them on the huge platters. As the food trays start to get low, a waitress will come out from the kitchen and refill and freshen up the tray. There's never an empty tray. The staff from the hostess to the waitresses are very helpful and pleasant to talk to. And their so appreciative when receiving tips from the diners. This place can accommodate large private parties with sectioned off dining areas, as well as a large dining area. There's also an outdoor dining area which is nice during these beautiful spring days. It's amazing how the waitresses can carry so many plates and cups at once, rather than making multiple trips to clean the tables. Just sit back and enjoy the food. read more

The most amazing Chinese restaurant in Torrance and it's a buffet all you can eat. Just make sure you don't overload your plate and not eat it all. Try little at a time. The area it's clean and price very affordable. I came in lunch with my classmates from school we all love it. Service was great, I highly recommend the restaurant. Food freshly made. I like the place, but It is little old. I enjoyed the spicy tuna rolls, the hot and sour soup, and mussels. Desserts options were not many, but that's okay. Staff were nice, helpful and changed the food regularly. I look forward to eating there again. read more

They have a lot more customers lately so the food doesn't sit out as long. The price though seems to keep going up. $50 to $60 dollars for 2 people to grab dinner. Inflation is real for sure. Not sure it's worth it though. Quality still isn't what it was before the pandemic. read more
