After having a great experience at the Paradise Buffet in Montebello my friend made a reservation for a very large family lunch after another funeral. Paradise checked everyone in as we arrived. They had no problem accommodating our large party. Paradise's dining room is very large and busy and no problem taking care of us. Their staff could not have been better. 2nd review after many trips. There is a lot of pollen in the air conditioning, and I begin to sneeze after about 30 minutes. Taking anti-histamine 1/2 hour earlier lessens the problem, but makes me terribly sleepy after 1/2.hour. Air conditioner should be clened out. I have also had some gastrointestinal problems the next day about one out of 3 visits. I don't know whether it is some sort of food allergy or food poisoning. I have tried to identify the culprit food, by eliminating it on various visits, but have been unable to identify the food. I was hoping another reviewer might shed some light, since it is a shame to pass it up, since the senior price on M-Th afternoons is great, and the variety of food is fantastic, as is the waiters who have come to know me. read more

I've always had a good experience here. Typical with buffets, there are many items to choose from. There are separate stations for salads, hot foods, a Mongolian wok, sushi, and desserts. Compared to Hometown Buffet, I much prefer Paradise Buffet. The choices and quality are better. It isn't in the same league as some of the more expensive Las Vegas-style buffets, but it's a great value. The people working the tables, clearing plates and helping with special requests, have always been friendly and helpful. There have been some minor annoyances. Once, both soda machines ran out of sugar-free syrup and my drink was mainly phosphate water, which was not appealing. Another time, the soft-serve ice cream machine was out of action. The prices are hard to beat. The most expensive price you might have to pay is $19.99. However, if you're 60 & older, on Mondays thru Thursdays, lunch (from 2-4pm) is only $10.99 and dinner (from 4-5pm) is $12.99. read more

They have several different options sushi/pastas/chinese/mongolian beef (prepared fresh while you wait) and salad bar area. They also have several dessert options like self serve vanilla and chocolate ice cream. The servers are always polite and helpful. The establishment is always clean and so are the bathrooms. The place is very inviting and the a/c works specially important during the summer. I always come here when I have a craving for sushi since the options are fresh and delicious. read more

Right off the bat we were greeted by a wonderful gust of cold air lol. The air conditioning system is working at full capacity! Then I could smell all the good food. This is a good Asian buffet restaurant. The only thing I really care about for Asian buffets is the sushi. This place's sushi was excellent. Fresh, nice presentation, abundant varieties. This would be the only reason I'd want to re-visit this place! Other features of this place are they have a big salad bar, stirfry station and dessert station. Their big salad bar and dessert station are also what might make it better than other usual Asian buffets. They have cheesecake at their dessert station. It actually tasted good! Cheesecakes are rarely offered at Asian buffets. Their hot food seemed to have much fewer varieties compared to other usual Asian buffets. Make sure to check your credit card app to make sure you are charged correctly. A $10 tip was added to my credit card bill after the fact. An investigation ensued for about a week until I got my $10 back. The manager could have made it better by comping me a meal to remove the bad experience I had. She didn't, and I haven't been back. I'm also telling everyone about this place and how they tried to steal a $10 tip. Food is just ok, but then again it is a buffet. read more

We have family who live nearby this place, and although we drive from Whittier, we are always happy to do so. The food is always fresh and tasty as heck!! The price is right and the service is exceptional. They have excellent sushi and Mongolian BBQ is so good. They have a wide variety to choose from. Dear paradise buffet, This buffet is outrageous. When I first entered, the line was very long, that was such a shame and waste of time. When the worker gave me the cups for our drinks, one of the cup had a massive stain on it, due to that stain I had to waste my time again and go back to the worker the ask for another cup. When I was going to get my first plate, I saw that every single plate was dirty and filthy. The customer service was really bad, the worker didn't take our plates after a whole hour later. read more

My daughter choose this place for her birthday because this is her favorite place to eat but unfortunately we went threw a very awkward situation.I took my daughter the day of her birthday she was turning 8 they asked me for her ID to confirm her birthday date if it was actually the day of, I unfortunately have not yet received her passport that was coming on the mail they then proceeded to ask for her birth certificate. This is the 1st time I have been encounter with this question or been in this situation to show my daughter's ID or birth certificate to eat inside any place for her birthday. The staff became so rude towards my family and I on my daughter's birthday I respectful asked where was this policy because it was nowhere posted or any sign that stated that policy. She then stated she was not going to argue for a 8 dollar meal, so disrespectful towards us. The case was not the free meal because I could pay for my daughters meal it was the fact they made it so hard for us to actually sit and have a meal for my daughters birthday and argue for a ID or birth certificate we didn't have in hand. Never going again! I'm not big of buffets ever since covid. Makes me question how clean everything really is. However, gave it a try and the location itself is not very clean at all. It is a Asian BuffeBuffet style so there is not much variety aside of Asian food. The woman at the desserts is the WORST part of it all. She is exextremely rude. When we went to get a cotton candy, she was just there without acknowledging us. Has to yell out " excuse me" several times so she can turn our way. When she waa right in front of us purposely ignoring us. Then she just replied " WAIT". Minutes later another man came by which was the guy who actually helped us and gave us the one cotton candy we were there for. Later, there was a man that was waiting for a cotton candy. Who she refused to give him one claiming the machine broke. Which clearly it did , they had just run out of the sugar they were using so she clearly did not want to open a new bag to prepare one for him. She was very unprofessional, and rude. People like her make people not want to go to this type of places, then the company goes bankrupt and closes and then they cry about it. employees should really consider making the most of it regardless of the day or people they have to deal with which is a common excuse for bad service. The down side you gonna find is their system is quite slow to pay and it delays your enjoyment, a second thing is that the manager doesn't look that friendly, and i think he looks at you in a way to discriminate you. My husband and I wanted to give this buffet a try, at first we noticed they had a letter grade B so we were a bit skeptical but we still went for it and the food was actually very decent...about two weeks later I took my parents and unfortunately I didn't notice the letter grade went down to a C until after we ate..so wish us luck but I did notice most of their plates were not cleaned properly nor their utensils. Their staff is great! I would hate to see this place get shut down so hopefully they get their act together ASAP. read more

Came here thinking we would get delicious food. There food was not good at all. It has no flavor it tastes like it has freezer burn. The only thing good is the dessert. The cleaness at this place is disgusting the manager seen some chop sticks on the floor and placed them back with all the other chopsticks. The lady who is helping make the Mongolian food grabbed all the tips from the tip jars and continued to touch things without washer her hands. One of the servers was picking up the tables while doing so she was eating a cookie as she worked. I don't understand why this place has the rating it does. Yelp is supposed to help people. One of the best buffets I've ever had!! For the price, especially as a military personnel, you can't beat the value. For 15 dollars, there's a fresh, hot off the grill Mongolian BBQ with a fully customizable sauce bar! Additionally, there's fresh nigiri sushi that actually doesn't taste too "fishy", but actually tastes like normal restaurant grade sushi!!! The salmon, tuna, and yellowtail were extremely edible, which is surprising for a buffet! Additionally, the interior design of the buffet is nicely designed, compartmentalized into sections - salad bar, Mongolian BBQ in the middle, American, eastern sushi bar. Simply amazing. Plus the waiters continually walk around taking care of empty plates in a timely manner. Probably the best buffet experience I've ever had, looking forward to entering into a contract with our local army unit! read more
