I highly recommend China Delight for their food and their amazing bartenders and servers. Recently my husband I had fresh crab to go.... normally something you would only order when you go to the coast. But we brought this crab home from China Delight; it was still warm and we devoured it. Bruce and his staff cooked the crab to perfection. I grew up on the Oregon coast and I am picky. lol. The BBQ Pork looks, tastes old....it's like a dried up leather shoe. Considering what they charge..they should do better. I/ve had way better. Very dissapointed. This quaint location is hidden in plain sight on Beaverton Hillsdale hwy. A vibrant interior gives you lots to explore visually as you settle in. We were greeted with the salutation of "welcome home" which was a nice touch. I loved the service of hit tea and fortune cookies as part of the experience; it added to the restaurant charm. The staff is friendly and the service is prompt which met our expectations. The King poa was amazing, sweet and sour chicken was average while the combo plate (which I thought was genius) went uneaten. I hate to even say this because this is one of our favorite restaurants in Beaverton. I did a large pickup order on Saturday night and none of the food tasted fresh, it was VERY overcooked. Not sure if there's a new chef if what. it wasn't very busy, so I can't imagine it was due to that. The bbq pork tasted stale and very dry, the potstickers were entirely too doughy, the crab puffs were all puff and about 1/4 filling, the fried shrimp were ok, white rice was fine, bbq pork fried rice was ok but the pork was dry and tasted stale, the general Taos, sesame beef, and honey walnut chicken were all way over cooked, dry, and had copious amounts of sauce. I'm hoping we caught them on a bad night, but considering the cost, I'm the one paying for it. Not sure if we will visit again. So disappointed. Came in for lunch and given peanuts to start with (haven't encountered at other restaurants) and lemon water automatically. Then a cup of hot and sour soup. The lunch menu is straight forward with an entree that comes with fried rice, some noodle entrees available as well. Spicy dishes indicated. Food came out fast, dishes cleared and checked in on. The breakfast is great! It's not a pancake house, but what we did have was much better than the Chinese food I've had there. The half chicken fried steak was perfect. Accompanying half order of stuffed hash browns was a delight I've never had before. Linda, the bartender was very nice and patient. Apparently they don't serve breakfast on Mondays. This is more of a neighborhood bar than a quality Chinese restaurant. The bar area is a cozy maze which I could imagine enjoying with a few friends. Hidden spots and many corners to have a quiet chat, or watch a game. I also went back for another try at lunch. The staff are really nice. I like the way they greeted me, came back and asked me how things were, and freshened up my water, (I also liked the fact that the water had a little slice of lemon in it). It was very pleasant to have comfortable service. L20 on the lunch menu is Double Mushroom, Scallop, Shrimp & Clams. It a bland simple corn starch sauce with the seafood and veggies. Always seeking breakfast on the west side, I dragged my ex in here about ten am on a Saturday. I had some doubts.Both about the restaurant and about discussing our Thanksgiving kid plan. Anyway. There was a colander and a container of Clorox wipes on the table by the door. Welcome home! said the man at the register. Uh huh. I do have those wipes at home too. They're handy. It was clean inside, very pink. According to ex, according to Bar Rescue, pink is supposed to be dampening to the appetite. It reminds me a little of Cameo Cafe. It's pink too. Only less cluttered and with a bar. We ordered coffee ( Yelp reviews said it was meh, and it really was). We went to Jim and Pattys after. Necessary. Our server was friendly and effficient enough. The breakfast menu is extensive: omelets, scrambles, waffles, pancakes, french toast, Benedict's, etc. The usual suspects are all here. Ex's stuffed french toast was ok. Too much berry compote. Order it on the side so your toast doesn't get soggy. Eggs were a little dry. Bacon is very flat...cooked with a press probably. Not over or under cooked, not dripping in grease. Not crisp though either. My over easy eggs were cooked just right. Hash browns were crispy and not too greasy. Same bacon. Toast was a bit overdone and already buttered/margerined. The table had hot sauce, ketchup, freezer jam, soy sauce, cream, and sugar all lined up in the middle. The ice water was nice. It had lemon slices. Ex said "it excels in its mediocrity." He is kinda right. It was an average, not bad but not great, American breakfast. With average, not bad, not great, service. The staff came out midway and sat up front to quickly eat steaming bowls of noodles with chopsticks and then they disappeared back into the kitchen. I was sorta jealous. This is a review for breakfast only. I'd driven by the sign for American breakfast at a Chinese restaurant any number of times. I imagined it would be a greasy spoon sort of option, a couple eggs and potatoes for a few bucks. Turns out it is an expensive menu with aspirations. Those aspirations are 'tis sad to say, not met. The place itself attracts middle aged and older men, half sitting by themselves in a mostly empty room. The decor--well a picture may describe better than words so please see attached. Sort of like a 1990's Entry level Chinese banquet hall that used to serve the San Francisco wedding market where it was de rigueur to feed several hundred family members with quantities of food aimed to subdue the body with numbing lethargy. I ordered the salmon hash. The potatoes were pallid with that repurposed leftovers twang that is such a personal pet peeve. The hash was at best lukewarm, which at thirteen dollars is not exactly acceptable. The full meal with coffee and a 16% tip came to eighteen smackers. While my server was prompt and pleasant, I still left with the feeling that I had been subjected to a shake down just on the north side of the law. read more

My husband picked up an order from there this evening and we ordered from this establishment because of the reviews it got. It was mediocre at best. I ordered the #2 combo, which included pork fried rice, pork lo mein and broccoli chicken. The fried rice was okay, the lo mein was overcooked & really soft and the broccoli chicken had brown sauce instead of the typical white. It was disappointing. The only reason why I'm not giving this less stars is because the service was polite and efficient. The ambiance, from what my husband said, was clean and tidy, but dated. I grew up eating the best Chinese food in the Bay Area and this is as close as you can get to the Chinese food down there. Definitely the best Chow Fun in the Pacific Northwest and one of the few places I can find Sizzling Rice Soup. Definitely worth visiting read more
