Sesame chicken. Could only eat a little before stopping... just wasn't feeling the fish sauce.
    Clark S.

Ordered two meals to-go: sesame chicken and chili chicken. Smelled good, opened the packages to find nuggets of lightly fried chicken coated in an appropriate amount of sauce and two scoops of white rice (per meal) on the side. Both dishes, however, did not have a strong taste, with only a slight distinction between the sesame and chili sauces. What overpowered the weak flavors was the establishment's use of fish sauce... I couldn't place the taste at first, but my roommate was able to identify the fish immediately, since he can't stand fish sauce/oil. If you have no beef with the taste of fish sauce, you won't have an issue with those two meals, or most of sauce covered meals on the menu, assuming they incorporate fish sauce into everything. Personally, I could only eat a small amount before needing to stop. If I ever go back to H-Mart, I will be sticking to the handmade (and freshly made) steamed/fried dumpling place next door.

Black bean noodles with chicken. Huge portion for a regular order
    Khammany D.

Black bean noodles was delish. I got the one with chicken. Portions huge! Like they say... Everything is big in Texas. I shared the noodles and we still had left overs. Also, the lady was very nice. She gave us extra plates and didn't hassle about getting it back. She also gave us hot tea. Their water is also infused with lemon. Happy oinking!

The spicy seafood special soup -- DELICIOUS
    Laura P.

DELICIOUS SPICY SEAFOOD SOUP and if you like, you can do 1/2 and 1/2 with another menu item. We tried the special spicy seafood soup with the 1/2 lobster -- and it was not only delicious, but the lobster was HUGE!! This portion of soup was very generous, enough for 2 meals! The lobster was cooked though and tender. We will definitely be back!!

Chef special on Friday: spicy seafood noodle
    Tony N.

Had the spicy seafood noodle for lunch as their chef special. Way to spicy for me. The bowl looks large but it's not really deep. There was like only 2 shrimps in mine, maybe 5 clams, and the other seafood I can't name. I didn't really like it, I had their other dish like the mayo fried shrimp and that was pretty good. But this spicy was too spicy for me which kills the taste bud.

Decent dishes for a food court inside H Mart, service, portions, food value for the money and cleanliness are good. Good experience!

As we were waiting, we noticed that 4-5 tables were done eating and paid their bills. All got up and left, the staff quickly cleaned the tables. The cleaned tables were empty for another 15 minutes. The lady that took our names down took a while to call the next customers. Seems like we were waiting just to wait...she sat one party down and waited another 10 minute to sit the next group... anyways, after we waited for a good 40 minutes, we were finally called to be seated. Sat down and was immediately served with water and took our order down. Time for the food review: Chicken popcorn - nice crisp and texture, but lacking flavor. Felt like it needed a dipping sauce. Pork lard rice - disappointing, bland Pork intestine with green mustard - this dish was okay.. Crispy garlic salted fish - fish was nicely fried and flavor was good. Probably the best dish so far Crispy pork chop - this is the reason why we came here.. we wanted to find a dish like May Ice cream. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. The pork chop was extremely salted. From the skin to the pork itself. Walnut shrimp - this dish was foul. Who puts sprinkles on the side?! Tasted like I was eating an ice cream shop. The shrimp was also dry. Overall, not worth going and waiting. Food was lacking.

Came during the soft opening in September 2025 with excited expectations based on what we've heard, hoping to find a new go to Taiwanese spot. Unfortunately we didn't find what we were looking for. I admit this was the soft opening and things may improve, and for their sake I hope they do. Biggest issues for us were lack of flavor in the meat and multiple proteins being overcooked. The sauces they used had the flavor but it seems like the meat just wasn't given the time to marinate because the meat itself was bland. That coupled with proteins being a bit dry from being overcooked and you don't have a good combo. If they can tweak their prep process to let the meat marinate then it would solve most of the problems though. The best dish was the fried pork chop rice by far. A bit on the sweeter side so it just depends on how you like it. The bok choy it came with was basically raw though had more crunch than the pork chop. Service was also a mixed bag. The server was super nice and helped give us recs but it just seemed like they were still getting the hang of working in a restaurant. A glass of water got some food in it so the server took it away but they never brought us a new one. Again, soft opening so I give that some grace, but food has to be more on point for a new restaurant to make it. So all in all, there are definitely some kinks to work through for them. Normally I wouldn't write a review for soft opening but given that there are old reviews here plus food quality missed the mark more than I think it should've, I think people on Yelp should get a heads up.

This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.

It's a self service restaurant, but enough tables to also sit down and eat. The staff was really kind and helped me throughout the entire night, guiding me through the process. It's similar to other malatang places, where you pick your own ingredients. The only thing is any meats you'd want is already in a smaller bag on the side, with a fixed weight. I'm assuming it's for sanitary reasons. The per pound price is a bit higher, but it's justified- the flavor of the stir fry was really flavorful, all the ingredients are very fresh.
