I've been here quite a few times and I enjoy the food. If it's busy we don't wait a long time before getting seated. The only thing I have a complaint about is the waitresses. They need learn how to be courteous when bringing drinks to the table or picking up your plates. These ladies lean over you and never even bother to say excuse me. Tonight the exact same waitress decided to throw all the plates in a bin which she placed on the floor! She then filled it up and moved it across the floor with her foot. I have to say this place was very tasty. I came here for CNY celebration with family. I have never heard of a Chinese buffet in El monte so that caught me off guard. Although I didn't pay for dinner I think it was very cheap like $12-13 after tax. I can tell this place was good when I drank the hot and sour soup and it actually had flavor. Most places make it terrible but this place was good. I had the mongolian bbq, the sashimi, the seaweed and all were pretty tasty. I was very impressed with our waitress and she came often and refilled our drinks. We had two large tables and she did her best to accommodate all of us. This place deserves a higher rating I just don't know why The ratings are low. From the first time I came here I know that this place was small Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet. The price is very cheap to you then you could really get full off of the portion that you get here. What people really get the most and when it comes out is their clams. The clams is not with black bean sauce like most Chinese restaurants. It has a garlic white sauce. The last time I came here was a few days ago and they actually had Mongolian barbecue. The sushi is not bad here because they use some vinaigrette although the sushi selection is very limited you will find it different from other Chinese buffet. Although quality it's a hit and miss you just got to try things. This is not your average place for food snob. Thought of you have a high expectation this is not the place for you. End result is about 4+ lbs worth of crab legs which were very good for buffet quality with awesome friend getting more for me whenever they were out. But another thing also impressed me and that was their butter shrimp. Really really really super good. Just like the special type of shrimp my mom (who's an excellent cook) used to make. Unfortunately we weren't fans of the other selections. The sushi selection looked sad and there was just a little too much batter on other things. For $26+ post tax tip for two people eating buffet though you cannot go wrong with this place if you love shrimp and crabs. Just make sure to get the crab legs as they make them by demand. And best part is if you eat just crab legs you don't really feel buffeted out. A cluster of crab legs is around 96 calories and even though I ate a lot, calorically I came out less than if I went to BK or Mcds. My family and I came to this restaurant for a Lunar new year dinner and we took up 3 tables with (20 people). I must say, the service is very good here with such a large party and all our plates were cleared in a timely manner. Food: B Service: A Ambiance: B- Food: When I came here I targeted the cold dishes, the king crab legs, the broccoli, coconut shrimp, and the zucchini/ vegetable stir fry. The cold dishes that I usually get are the cucumber salad and the jellyfish salad. Both of these items are very well marinated. The king crabs legs are the go to items at any chinese buffet and man do they go fast. If you see them bring out a new batch attack and grab as much as you can before someone else does. The broccoli is perfectly cooked as it was crunchy. The coconut shrimp is a spin off of the traditional walnut shrimp, except there isn't any walnuts in it. Lastly, the zucchini and vegetable stir fry was not to salty and allows me to eat a little healthier at the buffet. I must warn you STAY AWAY from the SUSHI, it taste old and disgusting. Service: The server that helped us yesterday came quite often to take away our dirty plates and asked frequently if we needed to get refills on our beverages. In addition to that, she helped us bring out our birthday cake without being asked and brought over some additional plates and forks so we can enjoy our cake at the restaurant. What was very surprising was the server told us to take our time and eat some more. This was quite shocking as I would think that the restaurant wanted to be stingy and get us out the door asap. The restaurant is very open and clean and its one of the better asian buffets that i've eaten at! The food selection is great and it ranges from king crab legs, coconut shrimp, clams, mussels, baked scallops and even baked oysters! so yummy! If you can't dine in, they actually give customers the option of buying a to-go box and stuffing it with dishes that they want to eat! good deal! (: I also like their variety of fresh fruits and desserts as well, but as for their sushi they can improve on that department because the sashimi tastes frozen. The service is really helpful and attentive here which is something you don't see a lot of in other buffets, but our server was always asking us if we wanted refills on our water and brought us new utensils if we accidently dropped our chopsticks or forks. As far as typical Asian buffets go, I love this place the best. I haven't found something similar in the OC area yet. It's simple, yet good and easy on the wallet but not on the waist so I would be careful of how much you eat here. Sometimes I justify the $8 for lunch because if you go to another Chinese restaurant, that's typically the price for just one entree elsewhere. What makes this buffet stand out is that the food here is actually pretty good. I can't speak for dinner but lunchtime seafood eats on weekdays are worth the money. They have a pretty decent sushi corner with sashimi. Their Chinese selection is also very good in flavor. My top picks are seafood dynamite, egg foo young, chicken wings, CLAM stirfry, sushi, and most of their chicken dishes are good in general. Desserts here left more to be desired. I have learned to skip their "cheesecake", pastries, and what they claim to be "jello". Instead I op for their mixed fruit with tapioca and coconut milk (similar to the drink you get at Phoenix *this is located in the fruit bar), fresh fruits, and soft serve icecream. read more

Visited last week with a few friends and it was a great experience. The place is big and clean, so you won't feel crowded as many of the other buffet does. The environment is really nice and the bathrooms are clean. Many many fine chinese dishes plus some sushi. The salad bar was great and the ice cream I haven't tried it yet since too many kids were in the line. My family and I came here because my mom had a coupon. If it weren't for the coupon, I'm sure we wouldn't have heard of this buffet. There was a large selection of food to choose from and I didn't get to try most of it because after my first or second plate I was full. I was surprised to find a Chinese buffet in a mostly Latino location; I was even more surprised to walk in and see the majority of the customers being Asian. A majority of the food was mediocre, what I would expect from a buffet. Nothing really got my attention; although there were some odd things like lemon jello (it was pink), I've never seen that before! I enjoyed the California rolls but didn't try the other sushi available. I'm not a fan of sea food but my family is. They said the clams had sand in them and weren't properly cleaned. My dad isn't normally a fan of buffets and normally is in a bad mood when we go to them but at this buffet my dad was extremely surprised that the majority of the customers were Asian and he was satisfied with the food. From my experience with other buffets, this one was pretty similar except the fact that this one had a lot more food and a large selection to choose from. If you think Zen buffet is ok, then this place is really good. Beverage prices are quite fair. Be prepared to wait for a while at weekends. Came here on a random night with friends because we didn't know what to eat lol. So this place is pretty big for a buffet.. I think. I really like the decor of this place. The layout pretty simple: got your meat in one section, seafood in another, and of course Mongolian BBQ in the corner. For some train Mongolian bbq is becoming really popular now a days. And also apparently if you don't tip the guy who's doing he doesn't say "thank you".. Which is understandable.. I guess. Lol So onto the food! Something new to El Monte, and it's okay! The Chinese dishes are not that bad. I feel like they lack seafood compared to other Chinese buffets I have been to but it's fair for the price. Their sushi is not that bad either. I really like that their waiters are consistent about cleaning up our plates and refilling our drinks! Food is too greasy. They misled me into buying their VIP card, which gives 10% discount to members. I asked to buy such a card but the clerk told me to wait after I finished my meal. And then they gave me a bill charging me $5 for the card but without the 10% off. Then they argued that the card must be bought _after_ a purchase and cannot be used on that purchase. That's absurd.
