Their soup is the standout feature and the key to their success, it truly sets them apart from other Ma La Tang or hotpot spots. The richness and depth of flavor suggest a slow-cooked broth, and you can tell it's made with real meat bouillon. After sitting overnight, the soup even solidifies into a jelly-like consistency, which is a strong indicator of quality ingredients and long simmering time. I usually order takeout, but the dine-in area is cozy with about 6 to 8 tables, ideal for small groups. It can get quite busy during dinner hours.

I ordered the crispy pork, brown sugar rice cake mochi, pickled fish, and a big 1.5-pound bowl of maocai and everything was really tasty and flavorful. They used to be in Alhambra, so a lot of customers already know them. Even on weekdays, the place is pretty busy. The service was fast and polite, which I appreciated. The restaurant isn't very big, so it's best to go early if you want to get a seat. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're nearby.

They recently moved here from their Alhambra location from a food court spot into their own store. The food is super authentic Sichuan style hotpot but this one you order the ingredients and they'll cook it for you and bring it out to you instead of you cooking it yourself. The food is great if you're not used to eating Sichuan style spicys should probably do mild if you're more advanced then medium. The portions are generous our Suan Cai Yu had tons of fish in it. The other hotpot was like a treasure hunt but it was stuffed with food would recommend some white rice for sure. The Sichuan sausage was new to me I'm doing dry January but this would go crazy with some beer or Chinee baijiu. Gonna get some to go next time The service is quick and pretty good for a Chinese place. I would def come back.

This restaurant is a must visit for fans of Sichuan hot pot. My family ordered the suan cai yu (fish with pickled mustard green), 2 different signature hot pots (one with meats and vegetables, the 2nd one with tender beef), and the wonton soup. Service was fast and casual, and our food arrived quickly. I was impressed by all the dishes. For the signature hot pot, the soup was savory and spicy, even at the mild spice level. Yet the soup felt light and perfectly compliments the white rice. The tender beef was tender and delicious. The hot pot with the meat and vegetables has a large variety, including tendon, spam, and seaweed. The suan cai yu's soup has that signature pickled veggies taste but has a nice, light aftertaste. There was an assortment of mushrooms, mustard greens, fish, and tofu. Overall a must order when visiting this place. Finally, the wonton soup was delicate and light on flavor. On its own, it's nothing special, but it complements well with the heavier flavors from the hot pots.

Really great hole in the wall restaurant that serves Sichuan maocai 冒菜. I was looking for a place like this when the one at 99 ranch in Alhambra closed. I'm really impressed with how filling and tasty it was. You order everything on their website and add what ingredients you want and the weight of the maocai. There's also an English version of the menu as well if you can't read Chinese. There are also sauces you can add on the side but it's really saucy so I just stuck to what was already in the bowl. If you're looking to try something new then I suggest this place. It's right next to the 99 ranch in Arcadia and the parking is super spacious and convenient.

So good but please do not order medium spice lol. It's so hot. And go with someone who speaks mandarin or is Chinese themselves.

They offer premium and prime options for their AYCE hot pot. Their prime menu was $52.95 and offered 9 different soup bases, 17 meat options, self serve bar filled with veggies, noodles and meat balls, drink stations and ice cream. I got the split pot with sukiyaki and jelly golden chicken broth. The sukiyaki was slightly sweet and full of umami flavor. The jelly golden chicken was flavorful and comforting. You can tell they boil down chicken bones from the chicken fat in the soup. They have 3 meats on the prime menu that were wagyu. All 3 were super tender and required little to no chewing. The abalone were massive and firm yet tender. We got the shrimp paste as well which was flavorful and filled with chunks of shrimp. The veggies were fresh and I enjoyed the variety. My favorites were the crown daisy, spinach, enoki mushrooms and Napa. They even have the sweet potato wide rice noodles that are slimy and chewy. Not a lot of AYCE places have it so it's a rare find. The staff here speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English so ordering was not an issue. They have a small lot in the back with about a dozen spots which wasn't an issue on the week day.

No wait and attentive service. The veggie bar is well stocked with a variety of options. Ordering was easy, pick level of pricing. Bowl type, Soup base and up to 6 meat at a time. The owner was really nice, she helped us take a pic and also took a pic for the photo wall in the back. I had split sukiayki and the mala spicy soup, both good. I also tried the tonkatsu, it was tasty. Meat took some time to come out but seafood is very fresh. The shrimp and mussel from the premium menu is very fresh. The drinks and ice cream are included. I love thrifty ice cream, with Rite Aid gone, I savor every chance I get to have Coconut Pineapple ice cream. I had the canned Herbal Tea and Milk tea, both are very good. The herbal tea was sweet, almost like dates. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

The Diamond Wagyu Set was 100% worth it. Everything we tried tasted fresh and high quality, especially the Japanese A5 wagyu. It was so tender and literally melted in your mouth. I also loved that there were so many different wagyu options, seafood, specialty dishes, fresh vegetables, and even dessert included. The House Broth and Spicy Miso were both so flavorful, and my favorite specialty dishes were definitely the wagyu nigiri, sweet shrimp sashimi, and bone marrow. We also had the ice cream and the vanilla was my favorite. The ambiance was one of my favorite parts too. It has a modern Japanese-inspired design that's both cozy and inviting, and the whole restaurant just feels really clean and well put together. The service was amazing too. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and always checking in to see if we needed anything. I honestly couldn't recommend this place more. They have your basic chopped garlic, cilantro, satay and other sauces. I'm okay with a spicy hot pot but I still want to enjoy my food so I keep it on the mild end. The servers came to check up on us from time to time and refilled our broths without us asking. The price did increase but it is still a good option for affordable hotpot without feeling the need to purchase AYCE and the added pressure to finish so much food to avoid leftovers.
