2nd time. Got chicken lo mein. It's really good. If these folks were able to drop everything on the menu by like 1.50. This place would be unstoppable. The weekends over so no more splurging. It's worth it. It is decently priced but if they chose to cut it down like i said they're busy would skyrocket. It's a super good spot but not Canton Cook about 20 minutes away from this location. based on the amount of wait time and being overcharged $14! Went in as a first impression not only did I tip for to go. The gentleman told me my food will be ready in 15 minutes. The restaurant was completely empty. I literally sat there for 35 minutes and watched them serve three other people that came in after me - to pay $50 plus tipping on a to go only to get my food after three other people was disappointing, there is another review that spoke about the prices of the restaurant. I'm still trying to figure out how I spent $50 on two items! Seriously overpriced. The aesthetic of the restaurant does not closely reflect the prices. FOLLOW UP-when I got home I literally did the math and realized that I was charged $14 extra than the listed prices!! So they got $14 for free and a tip!!! I am incredibly shocked about this. No where on the menu does it say 'to go fee $14' so what exactly did I get overcharged for?!? Food isn't anything special. I paid $50 for 2 basic chicken entrées! Buyer beware! We ordered food here again yesterday. It has been years since we last ate here but it did not disappoint. It was a cold night, I didn't feel well and all I wanted was a large bowl of basic wonton soup. It was perfect. I also ordered moo goo gai pan for my daughter which was very good. Service was polite. House lo mein noodles were Really thick-uggh. Pretty good flavor but the beef was day old tasting and the few shrimp were small($16) Hot n sour soup had button mushrooms!?! With no tofu or shoots. Ordered Chicken Egg Foo young for pick up. The gravy was a bit odd tasting. It was a rich dark brown in color; I think corn starch was used to thicken it, which might be why it looked like a cup of coffee. It also had a slightly sweet taste. We have been customers for many years and love getting takeout at least once every few weeks. The food seems to have gotten even better over the last few years. We usually order for a family of 4. We love their Hot and Sour Soup, spring rolls, chicken fried rice, and Moo Shu Pork. The only thing I do not like is their Lo Mein. There isn't anything particularly wrong other than the noodles seem to be overboiled and somewhat soggy. I would recommend the chef cook the noodles al dente and then finish with the stir fry to order. The owners are super nice on the phone and we always feel welcome. read more

Amazing customer service! After placing our order over the phone, (20 mins before closing) we decided we had a craving for something else, when we arrived to the restaurant the owner changed our order with no issue. She was great! I ordered the boneless BBQ spare ribs, pork fried rice, and Crab Rangoon. Ribs were soo good! Tender and seasoned perfectly, the rice was great and not too greasy which was a plus! Wish the Rangoon was fried a little crispier but they were still delicious! We also ordered fried chicken wings, good and perfectly crusted! Chicken fried rice, general tso chicken and egg rolls were all great! 100% recommend China House!! Food was awesome and the owners accommodating and sweet nature won me over! We went in person to order our take-out order of Shrimp Fried Rice (extra egg), Vegetable Egg Foo Yong, and Egg Rolls. All were delicious! Well this place is VERY inexpensive and when you taste the food you can tell why. I had the steamed broccoli and chicken and it was so bland! One thing that surprised me was how good the hot and sour soup was. I now only get soup from this place! Its very good and has a bit of a kick to it. The people who own it are fairly friendly. This is not a place to go sit down and have a meal at... Its one of those impulse places For instance, if you are at Publix, see China House next door and make an impulse decision for some carry out its adequate and may hit the spot. I haven't had this in a while. Sadly, I'll admit I found a large roach with wings in my Mongolian beef about five years ago and I was recently in such a rush and craving Chinese that I grabbed some from here last night. BTW - they were not surprised nor caring about the roach incident way back when - they asked if I wanted another dish!!! Thankfully, no bugs (that I could see), but the quality is even worse. Had the general tso - I couldn't tell if it was breaded rubber or if it was actually chicken drenched in sauce. The wonton soup - I wondered if they had just dropped frozen wontons into hot broth (no green onions or anything else in the broth). Wonton strips were store bought, not made in-house, and very stale. The eggroll seemed to be mass store purchased and overly peppery and not good. The steamed white rice was the only somewhat tasty item I received for the $12 purchase. The reviews on here seem to be older so let me be the one to assure you that it's slipped even further downhill. It truly seems as if all menu items are previously frozen and from a cheap distributor and definitely not handmade or prepared with quality ingredients. It's kind of like purchasing a store brand frozen meal like Michaela's or something to that effect. Definitely will not return, even when tired and lazy... Ordered here for many years, weekly, they started changing food vendors/ suppliers (my only explanation) almost 6 months ago, I determined this change by the low quality egg rolls. The egg roll is a staple, we judge by the egg roll. But soups too are getting less meat, etc...We moved on to better egg rolls and better house lo mein. Nice people, just wrong business strategy. This is the best Chinese take out in the east cobb/Marietta area. My husband and I have tried every Chinese takeout restaurant within a 15 mile radius from our home and China House does not disappoint! We just received our delivered meals (Cashew Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken) w/side of hot & sour soup and ONE $1.40 TEENY TINY spring roll; it was less than 3"; hardly worth the price (via "beyond delivery service - which has been now discovered is an AWFUL delivery service). For the basics, there was NO soy sauce, NO duck sauce, NO napkins, NO utensils. The soup was COLD (it was COLD, really!). My cashews were SOGGY (gross) and the chicken was luke warm. My husband's Kung Pao was also a disappointing luke warm meal. SAD. If hard-pressed to say ONE thing positive, the fried rice was decent, but that's not really saying too much! However, I felt the need to write a review because they have really stepped up their game. As you consider this 5 star rating, understand that it is on the basis of comparing walk-in chinese restaurants with other walk-in chinese joints. Not only have these owners remodeled their physical location, but they also remodeled their recipes. The food is simply much better than it was year's ago and is frankly better than some of the local competition, including Lucky China, which is the same distance from my house. I frequent this place because of the convenience. I can't begin to tell you how many times I have gotten home and opened up my food to find that they screwed up the order. They never put in the sauces I ask for, and when you call to complain, you get nothing. The food is decent at best. The customer service is non existent. They have taken my last dollar. read more

I've eaten here several times, always for take-out (they have a very small seating area), and we've determined it's the best Chinese food in this area of Cobb. Now first off, I suppose I prefer "Americanized" Chinese food like General Tso's chicken, egg rolls, or crab rangoon, all of which are not authentically Chinese, so maybe that's the difference in opinion here. If you like the same type of Chinese food that I do, then I think you'll really enjoy this place. The starches are all good (fried rice, lo mein, white rice), and we've had many tasty chicken dishes (our favorites are lemon chicken, General Tso's, and sesame chicken). The soups are good (hot and sour or wonton), and the egg rolls and crab rangoon are also solid. The price is cheap -- you definitely get several meals for the money -- and if it's near closing, they often include free desserts or egg rolls. So, American Chinese cuisine for the most part tastes like it came out the Restaurant Depot sometime within the last week, and the establishments use those giant woks to heat up the food and sauces. No problem... I've accepted that. It's ample enough when you're singing the 'What's for Dinner?' song at five o'clock. The only time when I can't handle this so-so food is when the employees are as mindless as the Publix shopping carts in the parking lot. This is place is close to where we live, on the way home, and not awful for the most part. The problem is they screw something up EVERYTIME we order from them. They have forgotten items (yet never forget to charge for them), sent us the wrong order totally, and have spoken accent-free until you start to complain. Once you complain, they act as if you are speaking a language never before heard on Earth. Tonight, my wife ordered in the store and said she would be right back to pick it up. After waiting 30 minutes AFTER she came back in, she paid for the order and drove home. When we open the bag of course we're missing something. I was so angry that I called them and requested that they deliver the item they charged us for, which never happened either. There are many Chinese restaurants near this one that offer better food and are not operated by total morons. I don't say that to challenge their intelligence... they are more careless than stupid, and sure as hell don't care if they retain your business or not. If they are this mindless about their customer service, I'm starting to wonder about how they handle their food. read more
