Tried China King tonight. The food was pretty good but it felt like we were eating in a food court. Everything was served on paper plates (cheap ones). Really cheap plastic forks, we had to request a knife. We also had to ask several times for sauces. Drinks were served in styrofoam cups. Overall not a pleasant dining experience. Price was as high as a nicer restaurant. Only way I'll go back might be for carry out. I really can't recommend for dining in. read more

Delicious! We've been looking for a local Chinese restaurant that we like. We ordered a combo meal of chicken in garlic sauce which came with white rice and 2 spring rolls along with a 4 piece Crab Rangoon. One meal was enough for my husband and I with some leftover! **Bad Stomach Reaction** I ordered lunch here with some other people from my office. I got the twice cooked pork with lo mein noodles, hot and sour soup, and an order of dumplings.. The twice cooked pork was awesome! The vegetables were crunchy, the meat was tender, and the sauce was savory but not too salty. The lo mein noodles were tasty, not too soggy and the sauce was flavorful. The hot and sour soup was actually very delicious. It was sour, a little spicy, and had more than celery and tofu in it. A+ on that! The dumplings weren't good. The dough was thin and not overwhelming but whatever was inside was gritty, salty, and just not good. The dumpling sauce was pretty great though.. sweet, tangy, and light. Now.. the one star is because a few hours after, I experienced bad stomach cramps and the symptoms that go along with that.. just a heads up. read more

Ate here while traveling through on a vacation. Absolutely the worst asian food and restaurant I have ever been to. Service was slow, and I was the only person in the restaurant. Food arrived cold and with the appetizers not arriving until after part of the main course. The food tasted sour and tainted. All of it had a garbage smell to it. Could not eat it all. On top of this, there were two takeout orders while I was there. One sat on the pay counter for at least 25 minutes unattended. A second order came in while I was there and sat next to the first for at least 10 minutes before the purchaser came to retrieve. That's typical Chop Suey shop experience. Unfortunately though, this place got problem far more preliminary and fundamental than that. When I dined in there, I needed to use bathroom, so I went. Then, one of the chefs was already in bathroom urinating. I could see because he had the door open. I guess little kids were hanging around the narrow hallway and he was talking to them. So he was urinating and talking, then got done and still talking, then he walked off without washing hand. Mind you, he was urinating. Meaning he was touching his genital with his hand (I can only assume, bc I didn't actually see him holding his tool while urinating. I only saw his backside). Then he's done and he went back into kitchen without washing his hands. I don't know about you guys, but that was pretty much it for me. Do not eat here. bad food or service is one thing. But if they can't even keep up with the basic sanitation, like washing hands after using bathroom, I don't really know what to say. I really do not trust these people handling raw meat or vegetables, at all. Normally, I would make joke like "(Urine) must be their secret sauce!!"or something. But I am too appalled at this point. I have been a loyal customer for over a year, even recommending them on local groups as one of the best Chinese places in town. Tonight I call and place a to-go order and they say they can't not accept my order because my phone number is flagged in their system as being not picked up. First of all, I've never even used this number before to order and second of all I have NEVER placed an order without picking up food. She literally hung up on me when I told her that. I called back and asked if I could place an order on another number, she said "No, there are other Chinese restaurants". I asked to talk to her boss, I was told no and hung up on again. I'm exhausted and just wanted some easy dinner. I found something else, but being hung up on and accused of this is not okay after I've easily spent over $100 this year there. She immediately gets attitude and says, "That is what you ordered". All we wanted her to do was take out the vegetables and she was acting like she couldn't do that. My boyfriend avoids arguments so he just took it as is & took the vegetables out himself. Moral of the story, I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE & BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I called there & asked to speak to the manager after the incident and she said she was. So I asked her, "who is above her?" She says, "NO ONE!" The food was very good, but they messed up both of our orders. I had the wonton soup which was delicious. It was savory with a huge wonton. For my main course I ordered the teriyaki chicken, but I received and was charged for shrimp. The meal came with salad, tempura, steamed rice, and shrimp. The shrimp was nothing special. Inside the place was clean and bright. Big enough to not feel so crowded during rush hour. I didn't see anything messy or out of place. When I arrived the woman took my card and gave me a receipt. She brought out a bag which I thought was mine. I asked for soy sauce and she brought some out. I then put the soy sauce packets inside the bag and she told me "That's not yours". DONT EAT HERE!!!! The service is horrible and the food is average at best. My "Hot" & Sour soup was luke warm, my egg roll was sitting in a pool of grease, and my general tso dinner was more like a general no! When I returned I headed to a booth when the woman behind the cash register asked me if I was going to order. She then quickly said I could stay and eat if I wanted. As I was ordering the woman was on her cell phone the whole time. I paid and she went back to her phone so I had to ask her if I got my own drink cup, do I get a order number, do I go sit down, what?Since it was Monday night, I asked if she could change the channel to the Monday Night Football game as it was set on the QVC channel. She said "No.". So I sat, she brought my order and I began to eat. I put on my head phones and was eating and watching the football game on my phone. At 9:25 she got my attention, I took off my headphones and she told me to hurry because they "are closing soon." I was disgusted and I had enough. I put my jacket on and asked her if she was the manager and she fired back with an aggressive "YES." What a disappointing dinner when I could have spent my money at another restaurant in Jefferson City that appreciates my business. I am from out of town and I will never patronize this horrible restaurant again. But what I will do is tell everyone I know about my experience and everyone that will listen.
