I am so happy I found the Curry N Grill because of my fellow yelpers ! I drove about an hour to pick up some curry goat and it was definitely worth it. Very flavorful and tender pieces of meat ! This place always hits. Always. We get the mixed tandoori grill and then try new things each time. Today was the aloo gobi. We also tried the mango corn soup and tikka masala. It's all soooooooo goooooood. Their cocktail, wine beer menu is great too. Today I got a Sauvignon blanc and it paired so well with the meal. I grew up in Ca and have lived in Chicago and it being pretty diverse in those places I've tried so many Indian restaurants and this is the best I've ever had. Rhe husband found this restaurant and we finally made it there together. There are several booths and tables for dining inside and a few tables for dining outside. They also do takeout and delivery. The people there are so nice and helpful. We started off with the veggie samosa chaat. The many flavors of the dish were an explosion of goodness on the palette. It could also be made into a meal as it's a hearty dish and good portion. For our entrees, butter chicken and korma chicken. Both were delicious over the basmati rice. The garlic chili Naan was had butter and pieces of garlic. By far the best Naan I've had. We both went extra spicy on all the dishes. Very good flavors and a really nice kick. My colleague and I ordered take out from here, she got the mushroom matar with naan, and I got the lamb korma and chicken biryani. As an afterthought, I also ordered the aloo tiki, and we were in heaven with the food. The korma was smooth, creamy, with superb flavor, the flavor and texture of the matar was surprisingly good with the mushrooms and vegetables, and the biryani was well seasoned and spiced. The accompanying raitha was above par, and the tiki could have been crispier but I believe it was because we did not eat it at the restaurant but at work a few miles away. I was in town competing in a Statewide Culinary Competition and after completing it our group all went out to Buffalo Wild Wings. My friend and I stayed back at the hotel because why in the world would I want Buffalo Wild Wings after just competing for 9 hours (and winning the whole competition) To make a long story short- we found The Curry N Grill online and decided to place an order, it was close to closing time so we were worried we wouldn't make it. I called and they were very accommodating, letting us know they'd wait until we picked up our order to close up. This is the best Indian food I have ever had in my life. I moved to MO from SF CA & I've come to the realization I will never have great Indian, Mexican or Chinese food unless I go to KC or STL. When I saw the reviews, I was SO excited to try this place out!!!!! NOT disabled friendly, though it's not the restaurant's fault per say. it's the parking options. There is no parking in front. THEN... you cannot just go straight to the door, you have to go through the parking lot down & around to get in. So, depending on your disability this may be an issue. I got even more excited when I opened the door & saw a pretty full dining room & the smell... OH it was like heaven. The two gentlemen were very welcoming. The rice 10/10 Now I know.. it's rice but when I opened the box the smell of perfectly seasoned & tender rice was intoxicating. The taste was PERFECTION. Garlic Naan - 2/10 The seasoning was SPOT on.. but the Naan was dry cardboard. The best part about naan is that moist softness & that toasted outside. This has ZERO moisture. Vegetable Samosas 0/10 Samosas have a very distinct taste, & smell. I broke one open & smelled it... it smelled like a baked potato. Tasted like a plain potato with salt & pepper... zero spices. Tamarind Chutney 6/10 Not a terrible taste but it was watered down & vinegary. Butter Chicken 9/10 the ONLY good thing. The chicken was overcooked & slightly tough however, many times in Indian restaurants their meat is a tad over cooked, so it's not that bad. The sauce was good, a little too spicy however for Butter Chicken. Shrimp Korma 0/10 HARD PASS... which is a shame. Shrimp Korma is one of my favorites! If you haven't had Korma it is a wonderful cream, yogurt, & coconut milk-based sauce. Most Korma has cashews to thicken. I got this at a 2-3 spice as I do enjoy the sweety nuttiness with the spice. First off the shrimp was so over cooked you couldn't cut them. I tried ONE PIECE... ONE it was so awful I through the entire thing away. (It's a $19 dish so it was bad) The sauce wasn't even redeemable. It was NOT KORMA at all. It was very acidic, very strong tomato. Ghastly The prices are honesty high for mid Mo. I saw the other review of someone mentioning prices & the restaurant snapped back that their prices were comparable. Don't take my word for it, I did some research because it did seem a little expensive for MO. I looked up my 4 favorite to price compare. I was hesitant to eat Indian food in Missouri, but, wow, that was delicious. I had the chicken kadai with garlic naan--both seasoned and cooked deliciously. The raita was one of the best I've ever had. So tangy and a perfect compliment to the curry. To top it off, service was lovely. When I first drove up, the restaurant was smaller than what I am used to and l wasn't sure if it was more of a take out establishment than dine in. I decided to give it a try and I wasn't disappointed. The music was upbeat and Indian at a perfect volume level and the seating was adequate and comfortable. I ordered Vegetable Samosas, Garlic Naan and Chicken Vindaloo. Everything was excellent. The chicken in the vindaloo was cooked perfectly and they nailed the level of spice I asked for.
