I have heard good Chinese food is rare in Myrtle Beach. The exception is China King. Everything was cooked to order. The egg rolls were crispy and the egg foo young with homemade gravy was amazing, like you get in the hood up north. They were open on Christmas and also on new years. Will be back. read more

Where's the chicken? I used to eat here but not anymore. Ordered Curry Chicken. Half the amount of chicken they usually served. They have adjusted their prices because of what's going on so why 1/2 the meat? They filled the qt. container with onions and other vegetables. If you don't think people will notice you are wrong. Good food. Got a lot of dishes and they were all tasty. Only one problem - when we got to the place to pick up our order, they told us we had to pay cash. Fortunately we happened to have enough with us, but we hadn't expected that - their website says they take credit cards, and there's even a sticker on their shop window showing the credit cards they take. I called for a take out order few times, and the food was pretty good. I got lunch special house special lo mein and my buddy got Mongolian steak w fried rice. We also got egg drop soup which was nice n hot. Same egg drop nothing special like all the Chinese places. The next time I went I got chicken wings w fried rice which was delicious. The wings weren't greasy tasting like all the other places. The oil they used was fresh. The lady at the front counter was very nice and helpful and courteous. The place was nice and clean. After reading prior reviews drove out of my way on a Sunday evening to check out China King. Location is in an old small dingy shopping mall near the East end of the airport off Business 17. Store is clean and very presentable. Ordered Triple Delight (beef, chicken and shrimp) with white rice and an egg roll. Food was prepared to a tenderness and consistency I expected but was short on anticipated flavor. I expected more of a spicy kick but none was available. Stopped here for a late lunch when checking out the food scene near resorts in the area. I must say I was a bit apprehensive at first, given the very simple restaurant with no real fancy decor. They had a good variety of lunch specials each for $5.50. Food was surpsingly tasty with generous portions. Wouldn't mind coming back again. Just placed an online order for lunch while vacationing in Myrtle Beach. I wish I had ate here years ago! As stated on there website... if it is your first online order with them, you may receive a call for verification. I was very thankful for this call and can totally understand and respect this policy to prevent fraud. Restaurant seems to be a family owned and ran business that deals mostly with takeout orders. Everyone was VERY friendly and attentive that I had everything I ordered and any condiments I may want. I ordered a lunch sweet and sour pork, lunch chicken and broccoli and an order of crab rangoon. I arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes after my verification phone call. My order was complete and being placed in bags as I walked up to the counter. We greatly enjoyed our meal. Everything was cooked and flavored well. Generous portions even on the lunch selections. I look forward to trying other meal options in the future. read more

Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum! Closest Chinese take out food to Myrtle Beach State Park and when you get tired of camp food this is a great choice. Everything tasted fresh including the meat and veggies, properly prepared, large portions and just the right amount of seasoning. I really expected more after reading the reviews. Prices were ok. Food seemed somewhat over cooked. Bourbon chicken was actually crispy. Asked for got pepper sauce and was given pouches. This is first Chinese takeout I have had in the area. I hope to find a better one. read more

We showed up hungry after spending some time at the boardwalk with our kids. Found the place on Yelp and wow they didn't disappoint. It's in an unassuming strip mall without much else around. It was 30 minutes until closing time and the owner was incredibly friendly. She told us to take our time while we were looking at their extensive menu. Then she told us her young son would take our order, which I thought was incredibly cute. He did a great job serving us as well. He was eager to work along with his sister. The 5 stars could be for their hot and sour soup alone, it really was that delicious! Definitely made from scratch; so incredibly tasty with loads of veggies and tofu in it. We had their sesame chicken, House Special chow mein, and the Happy Family. Wow! Portions are substantial. Everything was super tasty. Inside was spotless and neat. Really loved the family who own and run it. Kids were so excited to get paid for their work at the end of the night. I observed a lot of regulars coming in for some take out after we arrived. Ok, I have eaten at this CHINA KING about 3 days a week for the past month. After moving here 4 years ago, I could not ever find a good chinese restaurant. A friend at the bank suggested I try China King on Hwy 17 behind Market Commons next to Food Lion. The Pepper Steak & Onions are awesome. Pay extra 1 or 2 dollars gets you more steak. The sesame chicken is so good! The egg rolls are great also. I order the diner size with fried rice and it makes 2 meals. The left overs are great the next day! Jennifer and her husband operate this fun atmosphere place with so much pride! They make you feel like you are family and appreciated! Their place is so clean and their to go packaging keeps food hot and sealed great. Its nice to call in my order and Jennifer knows what I want to order! Super people and great food. We just moved to Myrtle Beach and ordered from here with the intentions of having this be our go to takeout Chinese food, because it is the closest to our new place. That being said, I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The convenience of ordering online is definitely a plus for us, because it made it quick and easy to place our order. After ordering a very friendly woman called me to confirm that I had ordered, and also asked if I was familiar with the area. She politely gave me the address to reassure me that I had ordered from the right place, and then told me to come in about 15 minutes. This place is a counter Chinese food place, which I personally liked because it reminded me of the ones back home in Brooklyn. The same woman who had called me, greeted me with a smile and reviewed all the items she prepared for us. The food was fresh and hot, and really great. The crab rangoon was perfectly fried, and my chicken and broccoli was also fantastic. She told me that she had made our boneless spare ribs extra crispy, and they were sooooo good.
