The Chinatown Food Court was there when I moved to Atlanta almost 20 years ago. Back then, when I looked up Chinatown in Atlanta, I came to this little micro-mall before later discovering Buford Highway and that Chinese food was not concentrated into one neighborhood like it is in some cities. This little food court predates all the popular ones in Atlanta such as the Krog Market and Ponce Market. But it's not the sort where you can't find pricey ice cream. I believe it's all Chinese. Today, I wandered in, while waiting for my car to be serviced, and noticed Cold Noodles on China Kitchen's menu. This dish, which I adore at the various Gu's locations, is simple, but requires a fantastic bowl of noodles and chili sauce that hits the spot. China Kitchen's rendition was a good as Gu's, superb!

Tried their beef burrito from a small kiosk. The cashier was very friendly and kind. It was a good size for being around $12. Overall, I liked the flavor of salty with slightly sweet. But I did find it to be a little dry so a bit of soy sauce and vinegar definitely helped. Would come again and enjoy the casual environment.

Great food!!! Quiet atmosphere and sometimes customers are waiting in line, especially after leaving the theater close by. Quick service, friendly atmosphere.

I had ordered a vegetable dry hot pot and asked for vegetarian version. It was nice surprise to have tofu added as they usually do not come with tofu. It was a nice addition along with different medley of vegetables! It also comes with complimentary hot and sour soup which keeps you satiated until the food comes out. The service fast and came out within minutes.

HIT OR MISS BUT WHEN IT HITS, IT REALLY HITS! With Chinese food, I'm a taste over ambiance/service kind of girl. The service is decent every time, counter service, straight forward. The ambiance is food court- must I say more? Lol but the food quality and taste can really vary depending on what you order. Prices are all over the place; dishes that reflect $8-9 on the paper menu that they still keep on the counter is actually $12-14 now so be mindful of t Things to get: chili oil wontons, dumplings, steamed fish filet, Chinese burrito. Things to pass on: tea smoked duck, ginger scallion shrimp.

A great value for the portion size along with complimentary soup (either egg drop or vegetable). It's a self serve station along with water on the counter so don't forget either one. I was craving noodles so I ended up getting the spicy ground pork noodle. This was a dry noodle dish with a slight amount of sauce at the bottom. You can ask for less spicy which still has a tinge of spice. There weren't much ground pork but plenty of noodles. China Kitchen is located in Chinatown. Overall a good value for quality and portion. Bring cash if you want to save on a 3.5% credit card fee.

China Kitchen is in the Chinatown Food Court, and it certainly has a very busy menu. It took me a few minutes to look at everything on the menu, and, even after doing that, I still didn't have a clue of what I wanted. It had been a while since I ordered a hot pot anywhere, and that's what I decided to order. Credit cards are accepted, and there is a sign at the counter that states a 3.5% convenience fee will be added. I ordered Beef and Vegetable Hot Pot, at a medium spice level. In hindsight, I really should've ordered mild, because while I was eating medium spicy, my sinuses drained, my tongue went numb, and (in my mind) even the plain, steamed white rice tasted spicy! Nonetheless, my hot pot was served less than 5 minutes after I ordered it, and the employee brought the food in a wok, placed it on a stand on my table and lit a candle in the stand that was used to keep my hot pot hot, like boiling hot, for a while. This delicious hot pot was packed with cuts of tender beef, slices of zucchini, tofu, cabbage, chopped up cilantro, and glass noodles. I suggest that anyone getting any of the hot pots stir everything before eating so you can have a great mix of ingredients throughout your meal. I was offered steamed white rice, hot tea and water, all unlimited and available at the counter. At the end of the meal, leave everything there and someone will come by to clean everything up. In addition to a very filling meal, which easily could've been shared, quick, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable service is what I got here. I will definitely return for future meals at China Kitchen. If hot pots are not your thing, China Kitchen also serves up dim sum and vegetable dishes. There are many Chinese dishes on the menu that give you options of having beef, lamb, pork, chicken, seafood or vegetables in it.

Definitely a great spot to enjoy some delicious Chinese cuisine. We have a lot of dishes a try & I must say they were all DELICIOUS‼ The eggplant with brown sauce was one of my fav dishes. The flavoring is so good that you'll forget you're eating a vegetable. The salt & pepper fish was also a fav of mine with the beef hot pot . We also had Szechuan chicken and a few other dishes, but my all time FAV was the garlic chicken. Chunks of chicken covered in this delectable brown garlic sauce . I'll definitely be back because my friend recommends we try their Chinese beef burrito .

This place was not 4 stars. Unfortunately i didn't have a good experience here. I was ignored by the people when I had a question about where to pick my food up. The food smelled great, but my sesame chicken was very soggy and some pieces were cold. My "egg roll" that I asked for was a spring roll. I personally do not like spring rolls so I was pretty sat about that. The rice was the good part, but overall I was not satisfied.

Seriously...the BEST. No doubt we will be back. Chinese Burrito is like eating pho in burrito form. Soup dumplings with the black vinegar at the counter perfect. Also pictured are the sesame balls, scallion pancake and house fried rice! To drink we shared a mixed fruit juice the friendly man at the counter recommended! 10/10 Taking a walk through the garden after lunch was the best ending to a delicious lunch!

Pre-COVID, we had only eaten here 1-2 times over several years, usually when we just wanted to try something different in the Chinatown food court. During the 1st year of COVID, we ordered here at least once a week for pickup. Excellent food. Very reasonable prices. Family run business. QUICK TIP: Listen carefully when they repeat your order. I've had items missing and once heard the wife explain to the husband in Chinese that she didn't understand what I had ordered over the phone. Rather than ask me to repeat, she just left it off. So pay attention when they're repeating your order. ANOTHER QUICK TIP: They use BeyondMenu for online orders. I prefer to order online to avoid any confusion in phone orders (see above). However, BeyondMenu does not list all available menu items. One example is the scallion pancake appetizer. It's on the menu board and printed menu but is missing from the online ordering menu. TOP FOOD PICKS: Spicy Master Dumping (must have), Scallion cake, Shanghai Soup Pork Dim Sum, Beef Chinese Burrito, Salt Pepper Squid, Spicy Ground Pork Noodle.

Come here all the time. Family owned and operated, delicious food, fast friendly service. Food court atmosphere, but worth the experience. You will be back!

    Scallion Pancake
    Laura D.

Stopped by here in Chinatown food court and decided to try their scallion pancake. Since I only got the one item, I don't really have the full picture of the food here, but the scallion pancake was...not bad, but not really great either. The texture was chewy but not as chewy as the ones at Dim Sum Heaven. While it also wasn't quite as greasy as Dim Sum Heaven ones, it was...pretty greasy. The taste was good but not mind blowing. I do want to come back and try some other items and give it a second chance at some point, but as for scallion pancakes, I would recommend going elsewhere - even just next door to New Lanzhou Noodle; they have some there and they're pretty good.

A unique noodle dish with a cute origin story!…read more The story begins with a wife wanting to nourish her husband while he studied for the Imperial Exams on a little island. She made a rich golden chicken noodle soup and sealed in the flavor, heat, and aroma with a layer of chicken oil; and packed the other ingredients separately so that her husband could have a fresh meal as he studied. This dish and style of preparation/presentation eventually became known as Crossing-the-Bridge noodles and is categorized as an intangible cultural heritage for the region. Similar to hot pot, you're supposed to cook the individual ingredients in the hot broth when it all comes out; however, the pot isn't constantly cooking and it should all go in when it arrives at the table. The original broth is really flavorful, while remaining delicate and hearty, and all the various components go well together. The only thing is that the broth does cool down relatively quickly once you start putting in all the other ingredients, so some things weren't as hot as I would've liked. But, overall, I enjoyed my experience! Service was wonderful and there's always parking in this plaza.

The Chinese herbal soup was really flavorful. When the meat was soaking in it, I could taste the flavor that was soaked through. I highly recommend this base. The spicy soup was extra, but the reasoning they said was because it's from China. And even getting the very mild was pretty spicy. The concept of going to the four fridges and grabbing your hot pot ingredients was interesting. It's such a waste of skewers though! But the fridge had veggies, skewered meats, seafood, noodles, and much more. Since this is an all you can eat place, you can grab any item freely. I do think they will charge you if there's excess food leftover. Well, says the sign anyway. The lamb and beef were the only two free meat options, but you can order this as much as you can eat. The brown sugar rice cake and crispy fried pork were very unique items that's also in the unlimited menu option. There was also interesting tidbits at the bar area near the sauce bar like beef jerky bits, peanuts, and sweet potato balls with a taro interior. Overall very unique ingredients you can order or extra menu items like pig brain, duck jelly, duck tongue among others. Our group didn't venture into trying these though. The ingredients already included were just as good though.

Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that they offered freshly made milk teas and fruit teas instead of bottled drinks. The drinks were decent and refreshing, especially for balancing out the richness of the meal. Each person gets their own mini hot pot, which I really liked because everyone could customize their own soup base and ingredients. We chose a variety of broths including mushroom, spicy mala, tomato, and herbal soup. Using the iPad ordering system, we basically ordered one of everything from both the hot pot and BBQ menus. The food came out surprisingly fast, and they even used robots to deliver dishes to the table, which was smooth and efficient. For hot pot, my personal favorites were the fatty beef slices, lamb, beef tripe, black tripe, tofu skin rolls, squid flowers, enoki mushrooms, corn, lotus root slices, kelp knots, fish balls, and beef tendon balls. Everything tasted great with the broth and my favorite sesame dipping sauce. On the BBQ side, the standout items for me were the cumin lamb, beef tongue, chicken cartilage, short ribs, and squid. We weren't exactly BBQ experts, so some meats weren't cooked perfectly, but the flavor was still really enjoyable -- and the best part was that you could keep ordering as much as you wanted. I will come back and do a proper review with photos at another date. I stopped in to grab my…read morehusband some take away and don't feel like to-go dishes are worthy of photos. With that said...the Pork dumplings were perfection today! The skin was on the thicker side but not too thick and the pork mixture was juicy and seasoned perfectly. I want to come back for research purposes to see if today was an anomaly or their standard. We will be coming back!

For this visit, I was craving meat. So I decided to try this place which has had a few good reviews…read moreon Yelp and had the food I wanted to try. Service is almost self serve with the exception the skewers are brought out as they are cooked. Different items take longer to cook, so they will bring out items in the order in which they need to cook. So you can stagger different types and eventually you'll get the skewer you want. The location is small and has a very pretty mural along the wall. Definitely feels like a mom and pop shop. The door needs to be fixed though. Seems the doors hydronic was broken so each time the door opened it slams after. :/ I ordered Beef and Sauerkraut Dumplings Beef Scalded Aorta Kabob Chicken Heart Pork Intestine Taiwan sausage Rice They split the hearts in half to grill, so they ended up being dry and crispy. Depending on how you like heart, it's not juicy or cooked medium, they are pretty well done. I thought it was beef. The flavor was great and had their mala spice mix which was tolerable. The Scalded Aorta was basically eating cartaledge. I didn't like this as much. They were not flavorful and just powdered with their seasoning. The real wonders here was the Pork Intestine and Beef Kraut Dumplings. I'm really glad I got the dumplings. Some of the better dumplings I've had and much better than what Ive had at some top dumpling places. The Taiwan Sausage was hot, sweet and flavorful. If I were to reorder, I probably would leave the heart and aorta out. Get more Intestine and more dumplings. On my way to check out, I noticed they had Stewed pork, so I think next meal will be that and some dumplings and get it to go. Overall well worth the starts they have earned.
