    Shrimp with broccoli

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. I've been to quite a few. I had broccoli with shrimp. Everything was fresh and not overcooked. It also included carrots and squash. It was excellent. The hot and sour soup was unique and also excellent. The vegetable eggrolls were fantastic.

We were a little skeptical about coming here because we had read some bad reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. One thing that must be understood is that it is in Espanola and if you are looking for a 6 tables worth of food kind of buffet this may not be the place for you. However, if you are looking for some good Chinese food that covers the basics this is your place. We noticed a lot of people were here so that's a good thing. The food itself was really good. The staff was constantly bringing out freshly prepared food and soups. I personally loved the egg drop soup it was very flavorful in my opinion. Everything else was really good. The staff was great and checked on us frequently refilling our drinks and removing any finished plates we had. Our waitress was awesome and she did a great job. I would recommend this place if you are looking for Chinese food in Espanola. They have take out too!

Española, New Mexico is dusty and drab. However, it's a convenient gateway to other beautiful spots, you can go back and forth across the Rio Grande without a passport, and there is a little gem of a Cantonese restaurant. It's not fancy, but the food is tasty and the service is friendly. If you're too 'Santa Fe' to eat here, then just keep on driving. If you're curious but don't want to be seen walking into the place, there's a discrete back entrance off the highway. The food is fresh, there is variety (including some simple sushi rolls and an iceberg lettuce salad bar), and when I went (7:00 p.m. on a Saturday) the place was full of locals. Eat it!

As you enter the restaurant there's a large sign that says parking is free for Zeng customers. I had the excellent tofu and vegetables with hand-pulled wheat noodles - a little spicy and super flavorful. My husband, who has recently developed a gluten sensitivity, had pork and veggies with rice noodles. The flavors were similar to mine, but I'm guessing they use tamari instead of soy sauce. The robot delivered our water, but we had great service from the human who took our order.

That was a a long drive for me and the unfortunate part. The fortunate part, this place was uber-fantabulous. OMG, the food was awesome. Let me get into why the experience was so great. The thing that grabs your attention when you walk in to the restaurant, is the mechanical bowl of noodle soup that has plastic noodles attached to a chopstick that moves up and down. Cool, right? I was greeted by the friendly staff and immediately taken to a table. Menu in hand, and a glass of water, I perused the menu. Man, there were so many yummy things to choose from. I decided on an order of shrimp, eggs ,and chives steamed dumplings for an appetizer and Singapore House fried rice noodle. I love Chinese chives so the dumplings were so yummy. They were steamed to perfection and so, so addicting. The Singapore noodles were wok-fired with chicken, shrimp, calamari, mushrooms, beef, eggs, and cucumbers. Wow, this dish attacked my taste buds with so much deliciousness. The staff were awesome, prices were reasonable, and most importantly, the food was spectacular. You have to get the dumplings. If my travels bring me back to the Santa Fe area, you know that I will come back to this restaurant.

There's no variety offering and even if you want an egg roll you have to buy 4. The restrictions are disappointing. The dining area is kind of crappy. You sit at these wooden desks and chairs like at school. There's little to nothing on the walls and the only sound you here is banter from the kitchen. Here's a tip Yuan, add some music for the background maybe some Asian inspired instrumental music would help with the lack of decor. The service is okay, it's a small family business, Dad and Daughter. They were very nice. The kitchen guys running food to tables is a bit weird. I got pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings and they were okay, I wanted to try the bao and egg roll but since you can only get a family sized portion being 1 diner here doesn't allow you to try a variety without having tons of leftovers. The Bibimbap was also okay yet the portion looks small it's enough to fill the belly. My observation is this place is good if you go with a group so you can split the dumplings and other items and have a fun Asian experience. I suggest to owner spruce up the dining room perhaps offer a variety plate of appetizers and maybe add a coupe more entrees. Edible but uninspiring.

I went again today for a late lunch and enjoyed some aspects of the meal. For one, it was just me and two other tables who closed out right when I was walking in. I was quickly sat, and proceeded to have pretty slow service to start. Once a server finally came back around 5 minutes later, he brought some delicious spicy/sweet peanuts to start. Returned less than a minute later to take my order, then proceeded to have great service afterward.. let me start with the spicy baby cucumbers: pretty tasty and a large serving, however I didn't think they were that spicy. The chile oil used is mostly oily with some not so spicy Chiles used (that could just be my heat tolerance) but nonetheless, they were delicious. The hot tea was fresh and he brought it out with water, which I appreciated.. I was however slightly disappointed in the Dan Dan Noodles, I didn't take a picture just because it honestly was served not too appetizing or picture perfect like most of the previous reviews. Everything was mixed together, and the meat was all in the bottom under all of the noodles. The flavor was pretty good, but I didn't get the normal Szechuan flavor or spiciness that I've had in the past at other places. I do love the fresh noodles, but the overall dish was a little underwhelming. I would have liked it to be a little more presentable, along with more of a noteworthy flavor other than meaty broth with some chile oil (again more on the oily side not so much spice). Overall, the experience was decent and good service. I will come back to try something else and maybe it just wasn't a dish for me.

The interior is classy and very comfortable. We were seated at a nice comfy corner booth. The soft music in the background was soothing and just noticeable enough without being a distraction. We were served complimentary flutes of local sparking wine and a fresh baked bread basket and butter to start. We then ordered cocktails and three starters. First was a split plate of the endive smoked duck salad with a warm bacon vinegarette. Wow...this was nice and refreshing. This was followed by the crab dumplings with fresh corn and peas and lobster sauce. Delicious! The final small plate was seared foie gras on top of banana bread toast. This was very good. I miss foie gras. Unfortunately, it's banned in California. They had a 2023 Sea Smoke "Ten"Pi ot Noir on the wine list. This is one of the best Pinot Noirs produced in California and not easy to find. This was a no doubter and we ordered a bottle to pair with our entrees. My wife ordered their signature elk tenderloin for redemption because the restaurant the night before failed at executing this. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. This was cooked to perfection with a nice thin crust on the outside and a perfect very light pink juicy center. We ordered a side of brocolini that was pan roasted with shallots and butter. Everything was very good and Michelin grade in our opinion. Lastly we ended the evening and split the tiramasu type of desert. My wife had the expresso martini and I had an 18 year old Glen Morangie scotch neat. The service was excellent and worth the splurge. This is a must when visiting Santa Fe.

It was incredibly busy so we were hoping for some good Chinese food. The ambiance is an old Chinese restaurant that used to have a buffet, but it was clean. What we ordered: - kung pao chicken: I thought the flavors were good, the right amount of heat and I absolutely love Chinese broccoli so this was good for me! It has peanuts and your typical celery so this didn't disappoint. - spicy chicken garlic: nice spice, but it was drenched in sauce. There were more vegetables than meat, so paying $12-16 for something with minimum meat seems a bit of a rip off. - spicy shrimp garlic: it was the same but with shrimp. I asked for extra shrimp and they charged $3, which is fine but I would think it would be heaping with shrimp, but it was the same as the chicken. - orange chicken: perfectly fried and the sauce was not overpowering of orange. My daughter enjoyed it, it was spicy but had a nice heat to it. - chicken lo mein: my daughter loved it. It was good and the noodles were mushy. - cheese Rangoon: a bit disappointing as I wanted some flavor other than cream cheese. It had a sweetness to it but a little green onions:chives would have made it better. - pork fried rice: didn't have a lot of soy flavor. It was mild and lack luster.
